《Dynasty Boys》Chapter 32

I was welcomed by silence and Cali as I entered my little house. I took my phone out of my pocket before dialing my grandma's number and for no reason my hands were trembling a little bit. After a few attempts, I finally heard her voice:
"Hi honey! How are? ", I exhaled hard with my hand placed on heart.
"Good! Where are you? I just got home I really thought you would be here.. ", She was always awol those last few months and even if I didn't show it, it hurt me. After the death of my parents she was the only person I had.
"Oh! Did you read the letter I wrote this morning? It's in your bed! I just wanted to tell you that my agent called me and I had to meet her. I'm so sorry I should have called you!" , her shaky voice made my heart throb.
"It's ok! I just miss you and it's been a while since we talked. You really have to take a break..you're working too much." I stated before taking my shoes off and heading to my bedroom.
"Yes!! I will!! As you say it's been a while since we talked and I really want to know some tea." She declared as a laugh escaped her lips. I didn't reply and it made her suspicious.
"Do you have something to tell me, Elle?", she asked curiously.
"Ok... so there's this boy I met. He's really nice and I think I'm—"
"Pregnant?" She yelled.
"What no!!!! Oh my god! It's just that I really love him...", I bit my lip and tried to focus on the conversation but my mind kept going on Carter. He changed everything and I couldn't pretend that I hated him because it wasn't the truth. She deserved to know the truth.
"I really can't wait to meet him, oh my lord! I'm crying!" She sniffed twice as I entered my bedroom and my eyes found the letter on my bed.
"Follow your heart, Elle! And be careful! I love you! Yes I'm coming!!!!" She said. "I have to go! My agent is calling me...oh I think she's mad!! I will text you later! Bye Elle!"
"Bye! Love you too."

I cleared my thoughts before grabbing a towel and new clothes. Carter had a football game tonight and we were invited. After Maddie's partance I called her and she told me that she was feeling sick and she had to rest. I didn't ask her about here reaction when she saw Nate but I still wondered why she acted that way and how did Nate know her?
Lila had to visit her cousin in Lisbon so she couldn't come, she was very unhappy about it though because, parties were football games were her thing! Surprisingly I convinced Nicole, she was really against that idea but she didn't want to leave me alone.
My phone beeped when I was about to take my clothes off and I grabbed it while praying it wasn't the masked man. I almost cried of joy when I stared at my screen, it was Carla. Everything was going for the better, she was now dating and she couldn't be happier. She missed me though and we were already planning to see each other in our next holidays.
—————————
"Everyone is staring at you!", Nicole whispered as we sat in a bench as Carter's team was already warming up.
"I'm sorry Nicole to tell you but they're looking at YOU." I wasn't lying. Everyone was literally looking at her, she was wearing a pair of shorts with a small jacket and for the first time since I arrived, she wasn't wearing her glasses. Her beautiful and long hair was down too, in the end she could easily take people's breath away.
"Elle oh my lord! They aren't—", I laughed as I watched her cheeks turning red. The match was about to start as I stared at Carter who was wearing the number 16. He talked with the coach and the captain of their rivals before making a handshake.
"I'm so so excited!!", I giggled and moved my hands up and down my thighs. It was the first time I was watching Carter's team playing. Carter was amazingly good at football, he was the quarterback and his actions really dominated the game. Sawyer and the guys were also playing and as Carter, they were awesome and a good show for our sight.
Carter's team won 60-6, thanks to the boys who made an awesome prestation! A lot of people were screaming their names as they exited the field.

"It was amazing!! The boys are really good!" I stated my thoughts to Nicole as I stood up while adjusting my hoodie.
"Yes, they did! It's always been like that though. We are never surprised because the four of them always make their team win." Nicole explained before looking at her outfit.
My phone beeped before I could reply.
I blushed as I read Carter's text. I thought he didn't see me but I was wrong. I was wearing Carter's hoodie, the one he gave me that night, to my defense it was comfy and warm!
"Carter wants to meet us at the parking lot. Let's go!" I grabbed my friend's hand before she could protest.
My phone beeped once again and I unintentionally rolled my eyes. I narrowed my eyes as I read the new and unexpected text:
."
I stopped dead on my tracks as my heart started beating faster. Why would he want to talk to me? Maddie appeared in my thoughts and I shook my head. She must be the reason why he wanted to converse with me.
"Huh... I have to do something at school but I will be back!" I was expecting Nicole to protest me so I wasn't surprised when she stopped me with a hold in my arm.
"Wait? What? Where are you going?"
She wouldn't let me go alone if I told her the truth. She didn't trust completely the boys so I lied:
"I forgot a book in my locker. It's ok Nicole! I will meet you at parking lot!" We stared at each other a few minutes before she gave up and loosen her hold on my arm.
"Ok, but hurry! I don't want to be alone with them...", she agreed while chewing her thumbnail.
The school was empty, probably because everyone was heading to different parties. All lights were off so I had to use my phone light. Couldn't he just text me? The silence occupying the school was starting to scare me so I made my best to make my feet walk faster.
"Nathan?" I whisper-yelled as I stepped in the library. He was nowhere in sight so I repeated his name once again before hearing a door close brutally. I was instantly on high alert.
"Nathan? This isn't funny!!" I tried to yell and hated myself for the lack of confidence in my tone. I turned around and that's when I stopped breathing. I almost shocked in my own words.
Right in front of me stood someone wearing a mask. It was a different mask from the one who wore the masked man, I took a few steps back before adding:
"What are you—doing like that? It's not funny!"
I took my phone out of my pocked and noticed that my battery was done.
"Stop your bullshit Nathan!" , I muttered in a shaky voice.
"Who says I'm Nathan?"
My eyes were now watering as I tried to run. It was the masked man! How could I have been so clueless? I headed for the door but he stopped me before I could reach it.
"Elle... is that how you welcome me? I thought you had missed me! Such a bad girl. Do you know what bad girls deserve?" He asked in his cold voice that made shivers come to life in my skin.
"Stop!!! Stop! What do you want? Tell me!!!" I was sobbing as he was hugging me from behind. I couldn't breathe! He was holding me tightly, making impossible to move my arms in order to fight him.
"I want everything I have never had"
"Elle???" I heard Nicole shouting and I screamed before he could stop me.
"Bitch! We will see each other very soon. This is not over!" He bellowed before pushing me forwards. I couldn't stop crying as my knees were bleeding from the fall. Nicole came in the library followed by the boys.
"Elle! Oh shit!" She screamed while Carter joined me.
"Damn Elle! What the fuck happened?" Carter kneeled next to me, holding my face with his big hands. He hugged me before I could reply, "Fuck babe! You scared the hell of me!" He whispered.
"He-he was here!" I finally found the courage to say it. "He was here, Carter! He won't stop!" I kept crying as he took me in his arms and I closed my eyes.

War of Seasons
Dorothea Atlin is the young, apathetic leader of the neutral territory of Sirpo, a chilly land hovering above the continuously warring factions of Sacer and Ghuria, whose devastating magics have ravaged their people and lands time and time again. Following a shocking attack and a cruel deception, Dorothea grows her conscience and takes up arms, using her self-destructive ability to manipulate the flow of time to ensure Sacer’s victory. Her growing understanding of war and the two factions is guided by Iree Nobelis, the determined and enthralling commander of Sacer’s forces, Ariana Kingfisher, a steely swordswoman of mixed Ghurian and Sacerian descent, and Rhys Tamlin, a kind but haunted soldier who goes to challenge Dorothea’s self-imposed celibacy and join her on a mutual journey of healing from the tragic legacies of the Atlin family and wars between the nations. Meanwhile, Dorothea’s only friend and deserter from the Sacerian military, Shark Olyen, returns to their homeland to face the family that disowned them and finds more than they bargained for in meeting Cerid Creed, a noble whose duty to his people clashes with his desires in romance and in life, much like Shark’s did long before. As their developing or preexisting loves and differing convictions on how to achieve peace create rifts between these major players, Dorothea experiences a personal revolution that leads her to fight for what she believes is right, no matter the cost. A slow-burn story that takes time setting up the psychology and motivations of characters for explosive payoff later down the line.
