Chapter 10
I woke up to my name called.
"Arabelle!" I heard Corey's voice yell.
I kept my eyes closed.
"I know you're awake." Corey's voice whispered in my ear.
I opened my eyes.
"You know you sleep like the dead?" Corey said.
I sat up and looked at him, "You mean like you?" I asked.
He chuckled, "Yeah."
"Why'd you wake me up?" I asked him.
"I was bored." He replied.
"It's 4 in the afternoon what are you doing up?" I asked.
"The house is on fire." He said sarcastically.
"I should get up then."
"That would be nice." He replied.
I got out of bed and followed Corey downstairs.
I wasn't paying attention when Corey suddenly stopped and I collided with him sending us both falling on the ground.
"Ow," I said lying on the ground.
"Dammit Arabelle," Corey said from beside me.
I looked over at him, "It's not my fault."
"If you were paying attention you wouldn't have ran into me." He replied.
"Why'd you stop?"
"Cause we were at the bottom of the steps!"
"Oh..."
In the blink of an eye Corey was standing above me with his hand held out to me.
I took his hand and he helped me up.
"Can vampires read minds?" I asked him.
"Some." He replied.
"Can you?"
"...Yes."
"You're a liar."
"No I'm not."
"Okay then what am I thinking about?" I asked.
"About me." He replied.
(How did he know that?)
"Am I right?" He asked.
"Yes."
He laughed, "I was lying I can't read minds. Why are you thinking about me?"
"I don't know maybe because I'm talking to you." I replied.

"No...Are you thinking about how sexy I'm?"
"Yeah," I said sarcastically.
"I knew it, you're obsessed with me."
"Think what you want." I said.
I walked into the kitchen and turned on the coffeemaker.
I looked at Corey, "I'm hungry." I whined.
"So am I but I don't see you volunteering that pretty little neck of yours." He replied.
"I gave you blood already." I said.
"Out of a bottle."
"So?"
"It's not the same."
"Well I'm sorry Corey."
"You should be."
I rolled my eyes, "Why do you eat food if you don't need it?" I asked.
"Because it still taste good." He replied.
I fixed myself a cup of coffee and took a sip of the creamy deliciousness.
"Let's go out for dinner." I suggested.
"Okay as long as it's not really fancy." Corey said.
"Alright...I'll call the shower first." I said.
"No you take forever!" Corey complained.
"Oh well we have time the world isn't going to end today." I said.
"It might."
I rolled my eyes and headed towards the stairs.
"And don't even think about getting in the shower with me!" I said.
I walked to my room and got in the shower.
I didn't take a long one like I usually I do cause I was starving and I wanted to hurry up and leave.
I dressed in short black dress that fell a few inches above my knees.
The dress had a red ribbon tie around the waist, the top of the dress fit tightly but flowed out at the bottom with bright red lace underneath.
I slipped on a pair of black boots that went almost to my knees and had metal straps covering them.

I walked out of my closet to find Corey sitting on my bed looking at a magazine.
"You can get in the shower but leave the door open I have to do my makeup." I said to him.
"You don't need makeup." He said looking at the magazine.
"Um... yes I do." I replied.
He looked at me, "You're already beautiful why would you need it?" he said casually.
"I know you think that but I happen to think I look better with it. Get in the shower." I said.
He threw the magazine across the room onto the table and walked to the bathroom.
As he walked past me he looked at me and winked.
I rolled my eyes at him and walked over to my table that held my stereo.
I pressed play and one of my favorite bands blasted through the room.
I walked to the bathroom and wiped off the foggy mirror; I applied eyeliner and mascara to my eyes and just as I finished Corey stepped out of the shower.
"That was quick." I said turning around to look at him.
He held a towel around his waist and ran his fingers through his wet hair.
"Vampire speed, remember?" He replied.
"How come you're never that quick any other time?" I asked.
He shrugged in reply.
I walked out of the bathroom, turned off the music and slipped on my black jacket with my pocket knife clipped on the inside of it.
When I turned around Corey was standing in the doorway dressed in black jeans and a black button up long sleeve shirt that had the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
The top three buttons were unbuttoned showing off his perfect pale chest.
I was taken aback by how amazing he looked. Not that he didn't always look amazing but he looked exceptionally amazing tonight.
He ran his fingers through his still wet hair and asked; "Are you ready?"
I nodded and followed him down the stairs.
I grabbed the keys to my car and walked outside.
I walked up to my car; it was a black McLaren F1.
A very sleek sports car that was made in 1992, only 106 were produced 64 of them being F1. It could go up to 240 mph, it was my dream car I'd wanted it for years and my dad paid over four million dollars to get it for my 16th birthday, needless to say I still have not stopped thanking him. I walked up to it with a smile on my face and unlocked the door.
I noticed Corey was standing a few feet away staring at it in awe.
He walked up beside me with a smile and asked; "Can I drive?"
