《The Ecstasy Of Faking It》Chapter 33: Charles Morrison was dead meat.

So the girl asked me to fake date her, I did, she asked me to kiss her, I kissed her, then she asked me to play boyfriend until whenever, I did, then I ended up falling for her like an idiot, we had super amazing sex which she said she didn't even remember, then she asked me to date her for real, I said yes and we fucked some more. But just when I was starting to get really invested in all of it with her, she went right back where we started.
The beginning.
Back when I hated seeing her with him even though she wasn't mine and to top it all off, she said some pretty hasty things.
I analyzed what she said in my head, if I didn't know her better than I knew myself I would have believed her but I didn't believe her, She was such a bad liar and could see right through it, but either way, those words hurt.
Usually I wouldn't have shown up to school the next day but I had a reason to show up.
That reason was Charles fucking Morrison, he was dead meat and he knew it.
I didn't see him anywhere earlier in the day but lunch time came around and I saw him seated on his usual table with his asshole jock friends.
I spotted Emily as well, she was sitting with those three loud friends of hers and she kept glancing my way from time to time, not that I was looking but because I could always feel her eyes on me.
It was so strange.
I kept telling myself; she's just a girl, there will be more like her, you'll forget about her eventually.
But a part of me didn't want to just forget about her like she never happened.
Shit.
Maybe I invested a little too much of myself.
"Hey there, stranger." Greeted Lana as she sat down next to me with her food in hand.
I guessed it was becoming a regular thing since we were going to the same college and all.
Lana was the kind of girl that everyone, including myself (because I'm a guy), everyone wanted to fuck Lana Spencer, she was just that hot and the fact that she always wore those little slit skirts did not make things easier.
"Hey, Lana." I forced a smile.
"Dude, you look like shit." She laughed, her glossy lips spreading on her face.
"Yeah, well, I feel like shit." I looked at Charlie from across the cafeteria, laughing and chatting with his friends like nothing happened in the last twenty four hours.
"Hey is it just me or is your girlfriend and her friends like, staring at us weirdly?" She whispered, gesturing to where Emily and her friends were sitting, I turned to look at them but averted my eyes immediately.
"They're jealous, as always." I said to her with a real smile this time.
"Jealous? Of what?" She sounded so clueless.

I liked Lana for one good thing, she wasn't fake.
"You have no idea, do you?"
She nodded no.
"You're like a.. sexy goddess, every guy wants to fuck you and every girl wants to be you." I informed her.
She became quiet and thoughtful.
"Including you?" She smiled, tucking her brown hair behind her ear.
I laughed, actually amused by her words.
"Yes, Lana, including me." I responded honestly.
Wait a second, did I?
"Well, thanks." She said then leaned over to whisper in my ear, "I guess you're not so bad either." Her lips brushed my earlobe.
Fuck me, she was flirting with me.
No wait, she was inviting me, that was a lets-go-fuck invitation.
Goddamn it.
If I wasn't so hung up on stupid Emily, I would have fucked sexy Lana in the fucking library.
Goddamn Emily.
"You know I'm going out with Emily, right?" I asked, our faces an inch apart.
I didn't give a shit about who was watching, I got cheated on.
"Heard you guys broke up." She brought her hand to my hair teasingly.
Let's see, I found her kissing her ex, I almost killed her ex, she stopped me, ex left the room, we argued so loudly, I said some things, she said some things too but no one mentioned the word breakup.
Wait, why was I trying to soften the situation? She fucking cheated on me.
"Who told you that?" I stared at her lips and tried to bring out some kind of urge to kiss her.
It wasn't happening, they were just lips. I was becoming a prude.
"Haley posted something on her Instagram." She ran her hand down my chest but still nothing, it was just a hand.
"She literally posted about our breakup on Instagram?" I raised my brows.
"Yep." She brought her hand to my arm and I felt like moving my arm away, "I'm gonna go to the bathroom, be right back." She speeded off before I could respond.
Thank God.
I saw Emily and her friends going after Lana, probably because she was flirting with me and everyone could see it but that wasn't my concern.
Charles Morrison was.
I withdrew from my seat, leaving my bag on the table and slowly ambled towards them.
Here's the thing about Jocks, they think they own the school, they're bullies, they want everyone to be afraid of them and they somehow get in any girl's pants.
I was not a fan of Jocks, especially the ones from my school.
I stood over their table, looking directly at Charlie.
He looked up at me and smirked.
"Well, well, well. Who do we have here, what the fuck do you want, Mackey?" He asked, clearly mocking me.
Dick.
"Hey, Adrian, how's it going?" Cole greeted me. I sent him a nod since we exchanged at least five words in New York.
"So did you?" I asked Charlie in a serious but bored tone.

He snorted, "Did I what?"
"Fuck her." I added, his friends looked confused but he kept that smirk on his stupid face.
I really did not want to know the answer but I had to know, I could have been able to forgive a drunken kiss but we could never come back from a drunken hookup. Or even worse, a sober hookup.
"Whoa, who are we talking about here man, Emily? Is it Emily?" Cole asked Charlie curiously.
"Yeah, who else?" Charlie looked at Cole over his shoulder with a playful smile.
"Dude, you didn't tell me you were hitting that again." Cole patted his shoulder and they did some kind of bro hand shake thingy.
"Don't fucking talk about her like that, man." I shook my head in disapproval, my eyes shifting to Cole.
"Sorry." He raised his hands in the air.
"But, I gotta hand it to you, bro. she said she loved you so I guess you won." He shrugged.
I rolled my eyes at him.
"This isn't about some stupid bet, you arrogant dick hole, did you or did you not sleep with her?" I snapped, drawing other people's attention.
He got up, knocking his chair down and stood right in front of me, looking straight in my eyes. About time he grew some balls.
Believe it or not but Charlie and I never had a fair fight, it was either me letting him hit me or him letting me hit him.
"And what if I say I did? What if I say I fucked her so hard on that soft bed of hers and she came so-"
I cut him off with my fist colliding with his jaw, he stumbled back, brought his hand to his mouth, checking the blood that was spilling from the corner of his mouth.
"Ohh! Fight!" I heard someone shout and we were immediately surrounded.
Charlie looked at me with lazer eyes, growled like an animal while running and the next thing I knew, the son of a bitch speared me to the floor like a goddamn wrestler(which could have hurt if it wasn't what people did to me all my life at the warehouse), he threw a few punches until I rolled him over, climbed on top of him, fisting his shirt and started punching the life out of him with every strength in my body.
If there was one thing that Toby taught me to do with perfection, it was fighting, but he also warned me.
Never fight when you're angry.
Apparently my anger scared him and he said I could end up killing someone with that kind of anger.
Well fuck Toby, he was an asshole.
I never stopped punching, not even when my knuckles became weak.
"Hey hey hey, that's enough." Cole wrapped his arms around me from behind and dragged me away from him, I shoved his hands while Charlie held jaw and shut his eyes in pain.
There was blood coming out of his nose and mouth and I felt blood coming out of my nose.
"All he had to do was fucking tell me." I ran a frustrated hand through my hair, trying to catch my breath.
"He probably fucked her, cause if he fucked my girlfriend then what would stop him from fucking yours?" Said Cole as he stared down at his friend with.. hate?
"Cole, what the fuck man, which side are you on?" Asked Charlie, wincing on the floor.
"The side that says don't fuck another guy's girlfriend, you obnoxious prick." Cole kicked him in the gut and he held his stomach.
Why was I impressed?
"Dude, what the hell are you doing?" Another jock asked Cole.
"Being a realistic human being." He said, "I got into Berkeley, bitches and it wasn't for football, thank God, so guess what Assholes, I fucking quit, good luck winning next Friday against clinicus." He declared.
"Good luck being a fucking loser." Said the other jock, the rest of them laughed.
"Oh Kennedy, we all know you fuck your stepsister every night, who's the loser here?"
Kennedy didn't drop his smile, "Yes, but only cause you couldn't do it right." He sounded so shameless about it.
Kennedy's statement seemed to have gotten to Cole, he grabbed Kennedy by his neck, Kennedy had that smile that said I'm glad I made you mad.
They were about to get on with it but of course, the principal showed up.
"Let go of him!" He ordered, I picked up a napkin from the table and wiped my bloody nose.
Cole didn't let go of Kennedy, he was still glaring at him and totally ignoring Mr Montgomery.
My muscles finally felt relaxed and I suddenly noticed the crowd around us, my eyes met with Emily's, her gaze was unreadable but I seriously didn't give a shit at that point.
"Williams, I said let him go!" He demanded.
"C'mon Montgomery, it was just getting good." Cole shoved Kennedy.
"That's Mr Montgomery for you Cole, Mr Montgomery." He pointed at Cole with gritted teeth. Cole raised his hands in the air, Mr Montgomery looked down at Charlie and Cole extended his middle finger at the Man.
I smiled at that.
Mr Montgomery knelt down and checked Charlie's now swollen face, "Who did this?" He looked up at us.
"Me, who else?" I responded, slightly raising my hand, owning up to it. who cared if I was about to lose my scholarship. Who cared if I was about to get expelled, who fucking cared if I was about to get suspended.
He sighed, "of course you did. Kennedy, take Charles to the nurse's office, Adrian and Cole, come with me." He instructed, leading the way to his office.
We followed behind him while every eye escorted us, "The fuck are you all looking at?!" Cole snapped at them.

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
