Chapter 5: Part 1 "The Shocking News"
It has been two months since Yixin had came to this ancient time. In those two months, Yixin felt complete. She was showered with love and care from her father and mother. She had fun and share concerns with her older brothers and sister-in-laws. She played with her niece and nephew. She had never experience this level of fun. But from time to time, Siyang would remember and miss her grandparents.
Now, Yixin knew how to cook some ancient dishes that she learned from Xiao Yan and other chefs. In those two months, Yixin's body had became healthy and was able to do work and withstand the sun. It was because of the 21st century Chinese medicine that Siyang had made that she regained her strength back.
Yixin's parents was very happy for their daughter was getting better day by day, but at the same time, her father was looking more and more disturbed.
Today, father had called for all the family members to go to the meeting hall.
Yixin thought there was some big problems going on that father asked for all of them.
We had all settled down and waiting for father to say something but father didn't say anything and stayed silent.
"Father-in-law, what is the problem? Please tell us what is bothering you. We don't want you to get stressed." Weiyang spoke out, feeling worried about her father-in-law.
Weiyang is the wife of second older brother. They have a son.
"Yes father, what happened?" First older brother asked.
"About that, the Emperor and Empress has given us a decree." Father replied.
"Oh. What is the decree about, Father?" Yixin asked.
"About, about the decree. It is that, Yixin has to marry the crown prince Lingyi." Father said as he looked down. He couldn't face his daughter.

It feels like a lightening had struck Yixin and all the family members. The dinning hall was so silent that if the needle would fall on the floor, it can be heard.
They all knew that this was golden opportunity, but it can also be bad fate too. They knew that the palace that looked beautiful and luxurious is actually a living hell.
Though Siyang may not know the real life in palace, but she had read from the history books about how the Emperor treats women when he is not satisfied with her. Stories about how the Emperor's concubine poisoned the empress to gain the favour of the Emperor. How simple and small mistakes can get them killed.
Yixin's face had turn pale as she her mouth opened amd closed like a fish out of water. She was trying to speak but no words would come out from her mouth.
"Father, how can this be?" Said Second older brother, snapping Yixin's father from his deep thoughts. He had never thought the crown prince, who sparred and trained with him and treated him like a friend, would marry his baby sister.
(It is about second older brother and the crown prince being friends. They always practice swordplay and share their thoughts with each other. Second older brother has only mentioned that he has a baby sister but the crown prince had never seen her.)
How can his baby sister, that has a weak body, go to that horrible place (the emperial palace)?
"About that."Father began to explain how it happened.
Flashback:
Father was called in the inner palace where the Emperor and the officials would have their meeting. That time, the Empress was also present.
"You have been my most trustworthy minister, as well my great friend. So to let our friendship become stronger, I, the Emperor, wants Lin Yixin, your daughter, to become crown princess and the Empress of the country." The Emperor said to Yixin's father.

Now Yixin has to marry the crown prince no matter what. Even if Yixin herself does not approve, the Emperor and Empress wouldn't take 'NO' for an answer. The Emperor also warned father what consequences they would face if they reject and don't follow the imperial decree.
