Mia POV:

I'm at the doctors to get a refill of my birth control. It's taking longer then usual. Then Dr. Jameson walks in "how are you doing Mia?" I smile at him, "wonderful actually, I'm graduating this year with honors." His smile is bright. "That's amazing. So, I won't be able to refill your birth control." I looked at him puzzled. "Why not? Is something wrong." I started getting worried.

"No, no. It's exciting news actually. Your pregnant." My mouth dropped. Did I hear him correctly. "B...but I'm on birth control." He laughed. "You know it's not 100%. It happens." I just stared at him still in shock. "Mia, I'd like to do an ultra sound just to see how far along you are and then we can discuss options. Okay?" I just nodded still in shock.

I was laying on the bed and looking at the screen. Then the room filled with a strong fast heartbeat. I couldn't help but smile. "There's your baby." I looked at the little bean on the screen. "Is the baby okay? Why is the heartbeat so fast?" He smiled. "The heartbeat is perfect and strong. Everything looks great. You're about 7 weeks pregnant." Once he was done I cleaned the gel off my stomach and then Dr. Jameson sat down.

"So, you have options." I just nodded. "You can keep the baby but if you don't want to there is always adoption or we can terminate the pregnancy." I was shocked again, "I don't want to terminate!" I said strongly. "Okay." He was waiting for me now to say something else. "I want to keep my child. I'm graduating anyway and have an offer at a great company once I'm done with school." He smiled again. "That's wonderful. Okay. I'm going to prescribe some prenatal vitamins and I want to see you back in 4 weeks." I nodded. Then he handed me the ultra sound picture.

I was still in a daze when I left the doctors office. I need to tell Nathan. The more I thought about the growing child in my belly the happier I got. I know this wasn't planned, but it could be worse. At least I have a job lined up and Nathan will be working at his fathers company and eventually become the CEO. We can do this. I hopped into my car and drove to Nathan's penthouse. I decided to just surprise him, the doorman greeted me with a smile and I headed for the elevator.

I was starting to get nervous, but I'm sure Nathan will be excited. We both always said we wanted to start a family, we just planned it later down the line when we were both more established in our careers. I decided to just let myself in with the key Nathan got me. I unlocked the door and walked in. "Nathan!"

"In here babe!" I heard him call out from his office. I walked in and saw him studying. I went over and gave him a quick kiss and he wrapped his arms around me pulling me into his lap. "Nathan!" He just laughed and started kissing my neck. "I missed you babe. How was the doctors appointment?" It was now or never. "That's why I came over." He started to look concerned. "Are you okay? What happened." I started getting nervous, but I needed to just tell him quickly, like ripping a bandaid off.

"Nathan, I'm pregnant." I stared at him waiting for him to say something but he just stared back at me with no expression. "Nathan? Say something. Please?" He ran his hand threw his hair. "How did this happen?" He said coldly. "I'm pretty sure you know how babies are made." He glared at me. "This is no time for your sarcasm Mia. I thought you were on the pill!" He roared.

"I...I....I was, but it's not 100%." He stood up and started pacing. "You need to get rid of it! This is not part of my plan right now!" I was taken back. "It's not an It! It's our child and I will not have an abortion!" He stared at me shocked. "You did this on purpose didn't you! Just so you can trap me!" I felt my eyes well up with tears. I can't believe he just said that to me. "Screw you Nathan!" He looked so cold. "That's what got us into this mess so I'll pass." I wanted to punch him. I stood up and grabbed my bag. "Why don't you call me when you stop being such an asshole!"

He just laughed at my words. "How about I just never call you again. I was planning on dumping you once we graduated anyway!" I couldn't hold back the tears now. "Fuck you! I never want to see you again!" He held out his hand. "Good, I want my key back and grab your shit on the way out!" My hands were trembling but I handed over his key. I don't even care about my stuff, I just stormed out of there. As I exited the elevator the doorman looked at me with sympathy. "Are you alright Miss Mia?" I just nodded and got into my car. That's when I let all the tears flow.

I drove to my apartment and walked inside. "Mia is that you?" Screamed my roommate and best friend David. "Yeah." He walked into the living room and immediately engulfed me into a hug. "What happened Babygirl?" I couldn't even answer cause I was ugly crying now. He led me to the couch and let me cry on his shoulder. When I was finally done he waited for me to speak. "I...I'm pregnant." His mouth dropped open. "Wow! I'm gonna be an uncle!" I couldn't help but laugh at his excitement.

"So, why are you so upset then? I know it's not planned but you and Nathan have been together for 2 years and you have a great job lined up, plus he has his dads company he'll be working for and eventually take over." That's when I felt the tears roll down my face again. "When I told Nathan, he dumped me." I heard David mumble "that piece of shit." Under his breath then he hugged me tighter.

"It's going to be fine Mia. You are an amazing woman. You can do this and I'll be by your side the entire time." I just nodded while holding onto him. "Thank you. You are the best. I love you." He hugged me tighter "I love you too." I don't know how I got so lucky to have David in my life. We met freshman year of college and clicked instantly. I honestly thought he was flirting with me at first but I was so wrong considering he plays for the other team.

I ended up taking a nap and then I woke up to the smell of bacon coming from the kitchen, "what time is it?" David chuckled. "7am, you slept for 16 hours straight." My eyes widened. "OMG, I've never slept that long." He shook his head. "Relax, it's part of the pregnancy. See." Then he pointed to his laptop where he was on a website that explained everything about pregnancies and what to expect. "You're researching about pregnancy?" I asked. "Of course, I'm going to be by your side every step of the way. Screw Nathan! You don't need his sorry ass!" I couldn't help but laugh.

We sat down and ate breakfast. After I ate I took a shower and got ready for class. We have finals this week and next week. Then graduation. It's happening so fast. "Hey Babygirl, you want me to walk you to class?" I shook my head. "I'll be fine." With that I grabbed my car keys and headed out. Luckily I don't have any classes this week with Nathan. But next week he is in one of my classes. At least I only need to avoid him for 2 weeks.

I felt like I aced my finals this week. I didn't run into Nathan at all. David helped me formulate a plan. I only have three weeks till graduation. I planned on taking a month to just relax before I started work, but decided not to now. I'm going to need the money. Plus, I don't want to tell my employer I'm pregnant. I'll be 10 weeks pregnant when I start working so I won't be showing. That'll buy me some time before I need to let HR know. David said he'll help me every step of the way. He's still got one more year at Columbia before he graduated, I finished in three years instead of four.

Over the weekend me and David binged some Netflix shows and just hung out. I really didn't want to go out, even though there were so many end of the year parties. But, I can't drink and everyone will get suspicious when I pass on a drink. Also, I don't want to run into Nathan. I thought he would call and apologize but nope. I even saw him put a picture up on Instagram with some red head at a party. That's when I decided to cut him out. I blocked his number and all social media of him and I took down every picture I had with him.

Nathan never showed up to the final the next week which I was grateful about. The week flew by and I am so grateful I haven't had any morning sickness. Besides being tired all the time this pregnancy hasn't been bad so far.

I was now getting ready for my graduation. The only people coming is my Brother John, his best friend Anthony and David. My parents passed away when I was 17 in a car accident. My brother is older then me and lives in Colorado so I don't see him much. He wanted me to move to Colorado when my parents passed but I refused since I got a full scholarship to Columbia University. My parents weren't rich, but they had life insurance so my brother and I both received $750k each. He expanded his company and I put most of my money into real estate. I own an apartment building and a few airbnb vacation rentals. Luckily I make a nice profit each month since I paid everything off in cash. Still not enough to survive in NYC though. David comes from money and he pays for the apartment we live in. I tried to chip in and pay rent but he refused.

"Babygirl, you ready yet?" I sighed. "Almost, we still need to wait for my brother and Anthony!" I screamed out, "they're already down stairs!" Oh crap, I finished applying my mascara and looked over myself once more. I looked good, like really good! I ran out the door while putting on my stilettos. David looked me up and down, "damn Babygirl, if I wasn't gay I'd marry you in a heartbeat." I swatted his chest. "Shut up." We headed down the elevator and found my brother and Anthony.

"Hey sis! You look beautiful." He gave me a hug and a kiss on my forehead. Then Anthony came in for a hug. "Hey doll face." We started talking when David chimes in, "if we don't leave now you're going to miss your graduation!" We all hurried outside and decided to take David's Escalade. Parking was a nightmare. "Hey John, Anthony. Go sit and I'll be right there." David called out.

"Babygirl, did you tell them you're pregnant yet?" I shook my head and bit my lip, "I'm scared, you know how protective they are of me. They might actually kill Nathan." He sighed. "Fine, but you are going to have to tell them sooner or later." I just nodded. He kissed my forehead and then shooed me away. The ceremony was a bit long, but no surprise there. We finally lined up to get our diplomas. This is it, this is what I worked so hard for, I can't believe I did it. I wish my parents were here. Once I got my diploma I smiled and waved and then touched my belly. We did it baby.
