《Playing With the Rich Boys | ✓》Chapter Five - No One Messes with Logan Green

Come Monday morning, I realised just how bad of a mistake I'd made. There were photos plastered in front of my locker with my white off shoulder top halfway down my chest. I hadn't noticed that people were taking photos the other night when I tackled the guy to the ground. It also told me that even though people were there, no one cared enough to come help.
I tore them down, crumpled them and threw them in the bin, but the whispers were relentless.
"And that is Logan Green's style," came Elaine's voice from behind me.
"What?"
"The guy from the other night was Logan Green."
"Isn't he part of the Top Four?" I asked.
"Yep. That one."
"But Holden introduced me to basically everyone, and I did not meet Logan."
"Well, it's no surprise. Holden and Logan hate each other."
The bell rang. "I'm off," Elaine said, placing her hand on my shoulder. "Good luck today."
Something in my gut told me that these photos weren't the only thing that Logan Green had planned for me. When I entered my maths class, the class went silent for a moment, all eyes on me, until I took my seat. Clearly, news had spread through the school about the girl who had flashed in public during the weekend.
Surprisingly, I made it all the way to lunch unscathed. The cafeteria lunches would bankrupt me if I kept buying them, so I was forced to sneak the small plastic container from my locker into the cafeteria, hopefully without anyone noticing.
Practically everyone bought lunch from the cafeteria,
I looked around for somewhere to sit, but people stared at me before avoiding eye contact like I was some sort of pariah. I spotted Elaine who waved me over.
"Hey," I said.
"Welcome to exile." Cheery. "How's your day been?"
"Aside from the photos, surprisingly okay."
Elaine was eating a salad she bought from the cafeteria. Heads started turning and I too turned to look to see Logan walking into the cafeteria. His eyes met mine for a moment and I looked away.
Holden walked past me a little later and gave me a small wave and smile. I smiled back, thankful that at least another person would publically acknowledge me.
"So what's up with Holden and Logan?"
"Just because they're the same type of human doesn't mean they're friends," Elaine said, shoving a forkful of salad into her mouth. "Wouldn't surprise me if it was about a girl. Or the basketball team."
"The basketball team?"
"Holden basically vultured the position of team captain from Logan at the start of this year. Swooped in and took the position like it was nothing."
"Yeah, but he just gets away with this crap?"
"They all do."
Elaine tapped her finger against the side of the table at a little gold plaque. Kindly donated by Green Recycling Solutions.
"We used to have old wooden tables and chairs," she added. "Do something worthy of detention? Donate a ton of textbooks or computers. Do something worthy of being expelled? Simple. Build a library."

"Wow."
"Anyway, enough about that. What do you have next?"
"Sport."
"You should leave early to get changed into the sport uniform," Elaine suggested. "Oh wait. Swimming's first this semester. You got your swimsuit?"
"Yep." She looked at her watch and told me I had five minutes to get changed. I quickly put my rubbish in the bin and headed off to the change rooms.
The bell signaling the beginning of the next class sounded just as I slipped on some flip flops. We hadn't had to do this at my old school; then again, we hadn't had uniforms at my old school. I followed the herd of girls out towards the school's pools. Lucky for me, swimming was first up on the agenda, something I was barely proficient at.
As we filed into the pool centre, I spotted Logan and a bunch of people I assumed were his friends following me in. He looked at me and I broke the eye contact, slipping into the pool. "Alright everyone, for warm up today we'll start with five laps," the coach called out. A collective groan went up. "Ten laps."
Warm up!? I could hardly do four laps if I could take my dear sweet time. Logan and his crew dove into the pool and took off. My gaping expression said more than enough, because a girl next to me explained, "they're on the swim team."
"Oh."
"I'm Olivia by the way."
"I'm Daisy," I replied. "Nice to meet you."
She too seemed to be alone in the class. "We should probably get started if we want to finish before class if over," she chuckled before taking off.
I followed suit, wishing I'd brought goggles, because I couldn't see a damn thing. I reached the end, realising only after smacking my hand on the end. I stood upright and coughed and spluttered. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Logan and his friends already walking around outside, waiting for the rest of the class to finish.
As it turned out, Logan and co finished in a little over three minutes. Most of the class took around five. I was physically unable to do ten laps and so I probably did about four, which took me just as long as it took the slower students to do ten. The rest of the lesson was spent completing drills. If I didn't become an Olympic level swimmer after those classes, I'd be surprised.
"Come on, quick," Olivia said as I was getting out of the pool at the end of class. "We need to use the showers and they're going to be so busy after this class."
I hurried after her, grabbing my sports sack from the bench. "Is every lesson like this?" I puffed. My arms were going to be very sore the next day.
"Basically. This school excels at basically everything."
There was a gigantic queue outside the showers and we both didn't get in until we had 5 minutes left until the next class. I was about to bring my sack into the shower when I noticed the entire door where the little shelf inside the cubicle where I was meant to hang everything was soaking wet. I groaned and took out my bra, underwear and towel only, leaving my sack on the bench. "It's safe to leave it here, right?" I asked Olivia.

She gestured to the other sacks all along the bench. "Yup. No one wants to steal a uniform," she laughed.
We went into our own cubicles. I dried the hook and back of the door with my towel a little before hanging my stuff up. Knowing I was pressed on time, I quickly took off my bathers and let the water run.
"I gotta run to my next class," Olivia hollered.
"Kay," I replied.
"See you tomorrow!"
I despised changing out of bathers; everything just clung to you. Then after, even your dry clothes would cling because you weren't fully dry. I put my bra and underwear on and wrapped my towel around me, holding onto my drenched bathers before getting out. The last few girls were just leaving when I realised my sports sack was nowhere to be seen. I bent down and looked underneath. Nowhere.
Crap. Crap. Crap. Where the hell was it!? I'd left it right on the edge so it'd be easy to find. Had someone taken it by accident? Even if they did, there'd be a bag left, but the whole bench was empty.
My heart started racing, a pounding against the side of my temples. What the hell was I going to do semi-nude? I wrung out my bathers so at least they'd stop dripping all over my feet before calmly sticking my head out of the change rooms to see if anyone was coming. My best option was to sneak to student reception and let them know what happened.
How embarrassing; an almost adult losing their clothes. I had to sneak out of the change rooms, go down the stairs to the first floor of the gym and then all the way across the school to the courtyard. I had physics next – the last lesson of the day. I'd gone through an entire day almost without anything going wrong. Why now?
I checked again. There was no one outside. I quickly started walking along when I heard someone behind me. I turned. Parker was walking up and he saw me. I stopped dead in my tracks. He glanced and me, chuckled and walked off, leaving me tomato coloured, standing there in my towel. I knew the boys' change rooms were a few rooms down but the final class had started already, so why the hell was he even still there?
I kept walking, quicker this time. "Daisy?" Holden's voice came from behind me just as I was about to go down the stairs. I stopped and seriously wished I'd misheard. I turned around slowly, and of course, it was actually Holden.
"Logan?" He asked.
"Unless he went into the girl's showers, I don't think so," I replied.
"He has female friends too you know," he said with a laugh.
He reached into his sports bag and fished out a jersey before throwing it at me. I looped one of the arm holes through my finger, inspecting it. "Don't worry. It's clean. Basketball practice wasn't on today. It should be long enough. My shorts will be way too big."
"Thanks."
"Better hurry. You're five minutes late to class already."
"So are you," I retorted. He shrugged and left. "Thank you!" I quickly added, hoping he'd heard.
I went back into the change rooms and put it on. Joy. It fit. It went down mid-thigh and looked borderline indecent. Fabulous. I looked into the mirror and the name 'Vermont' was plastered across the back. Double fabulous.
I arrived ten minutes late to my physics class, drawing stares from everyone there. I rushed up to the teacher and explained the situation. He looked at me skeptically but told me I was excused this time, and to take a seat.
There was an empty bench at the back of the class so I sat alone.
"Vermont? Holden?" Came the whispers. "She hangs out with Elaine, it wouldn't surprise me," came another. "That was quick," someone said. I kept my head down. "It's Holden, It'll last a day at best."
I scrawled down notes, trying to tune out the whispers, but I couldn't. "Yeah, but this is his jersey."
I was wearing a bloody Jersey, not pregnant with his kid. Why the hell was there so much drama about a shirt?
--
Parker and Holden were at their usual after school hang out in the school basement. It'd been refurbished with a fifty inch flat screen TV, state of the art sound system, a pool table, dart board and other little luxuries. They were still waiting for a few other guys.
Parker dumped his backpack on the pool table and threw himself onto the couch, loosening his tie and untucking his shirt.
"And why would you give pizza girl your jersey? You haven't done that shit since Allie, and the whole school knows what that means. Are you trying to spread gossip?" Parker said, stretching.
"Pizza girl?" Holden asked. Then it clicked. "Right." Holden tossed the box of darts at Parker. "Get up."
"Alright," Parker groaned. He tossed the first dart into the board, hitting the bullseye.
"You got some practice in overseas," he commented.
"Don't change the subject, Holden. Why'd you do it?"
"It's getting a little boring around here, don't you think?"

Drama incoming!!! Thoughts?
