《His Scared Angel》25// Surprise Gift

"You are not angry with me, are you?" Rudra asks for the tenth time making me roll my eyes.
"If you keep asking the same question repeatedly then I am sure going to get angry with you," I reply and thankfully he shuts up.
It has been two days since that Kripa incident and this man is still stuck on the same thing. Despite telling him so many times, he feels as if I am still angry with him. There must be some reason to be angry, which I do not have. I would have been angry if he had hidden the fact of meeting Kripa from me, or I would have been angry if he had melted at the sight of his old love. But if he has not done anything like this, then he doesn't need to fear.
Yes, I was angry, but not on Rudra but on that Kripa. How dare she tried to harm my husband's hard work? It is good that she did not come back to meet Rudra for next time or else I would have made her condition worse.
"Well, you promised something to me. Don't you remember?" I ask meshing the boiled potatoes.
"Yes, Your Highness. I clearly remember that I have promised you a surprise gift and today you will get it." He replies sipping on his coffee.
Today is Sunday so we both thought why not make breakfast together. Every day we do not get time to spend quality time together, so these are such small moments which I like very much. And about the surprise gift that I am talking about is related to our half marriage anniversary where half anniversary means six months.
Earlier I thought that I would not be able to live without Papa for a week and now I don't even know how 6 months have passed. But I am really happy, with my new family and new relationships. And if I talk about my husband, then I have to say that I have been gained a precious gem to myself.
Although I do not like gifts that much, but Rudra has said that I am going to like this gift a lot. Because this is a gift that will always be with me but he has also said that because of that gift, I might spend less time with him.
"Ishita, back to earth." A hand wave in front of my eyes makes me look at the source to see that it's none other than my hubby dearest.
"Sorry, just thinking something." I reply timidly.
While I make Aaloo Paratha, he makes Masala Chai for everyone. Soon enough Maa, Dad and Lakshya Bhaiya come downstairs for breakfast. I serve them paratha and chai before taking a seat beside Rudra. Suddenly, I notice that Lakshya Bhaiya is playing with his food which is so unusual unlike hie cheery nature.
"What's wrong, bhaiya? Don't you like the paratha I have made?" I ask making him look at me wide eyes because others are also looking at us by now.

"Nothing happened, Bhabhi and the paratha is really good." Lakshya bhaiya replies.
"Then why are you not eating?" Dad asks.
"I am eating." Lakshya bhaiya replies taking a small bite out of the paratha.
"I thing someone didn't sleep well last night." Rudra remarks making Lakshya bhaiya cough loudly so Maa hands him a glass of water.
"Can someone please tell me what's going on exactly?" Dad asks looking confused while I am sure I know exactly what Rudra is trying to tell so I pinch him on his thigh making him wince.
"Why are you pinching me?" Rudra whispers in my ear.
"Because you are planning to tease Lakshya bhaiya. Stop pulling his leg." I scold him.
"You all are here so I have something to announce, especially to lakshya." Dad says after sometime.
"What is it, dad?" Lakshya bhaiya asks.
"Your mom and I want you to get married so we have selected some girls for you." Dad replies and now it's my turn to cough.
"What's with this coughing fit?" Maa asks looking annoyed.
"Mom, I am not getting married yet." Lakshya bhaiya remarks getting up from his place and storming out of there.
"What happened to this boy?" Dad asks looking all confused while Rudra starts laughing loudly.
"Dad, I didn't want to tell you but it seems I have to tell now. So the thing is my Lil brother likes a girl very much and And maybe that's why he got angry after hearing about the marriage." Rudra replies.
"Really? Then why did he not tell us anything about the girl?" Maa asks.
"First tell me who is that girl?" Dad asks.
"That girl is Kuhu. Lakshya Bhaiya and her like each other. But Kuhu is not accepting her feelings yet." I reply.
"So that means you both know about them from a long time ago?" Maa remarks.
"Not from a long time, mom. Lakshya told me himself a few days ago and about Kuhu, I think Ishita guessed it by herself." Rudra answers while I nod my head.
"Haa, maa. Maine khud Kuhu se baat ki he aur uski baatein sunker aisa laga jaise woh bhi Lakshya bhaiya ko pasand karti he. Par woh ladki itni ziddi he ki apni dil ki baat accept hi nahi karna chahti." I reply.
(I have spoken to Kuhu myself and after listening to her, it seemed as if she also likes Lakshya Bhaiya. But that girl is so stubborn that she does not want to accept her feelings.)
"It's good that we got to know about them or it would have been a disaster if we talked to the families of the girls." Dad remarks.
"But what now? If both of them do not accept each other's feelings then how will we get them married?" Maa asks looking worried.
"Don't you worry, maa. Give some time to both of them, then you will see that they will ask to get married by themselves." I assure her.

"Look, I have no problem with this relationship. Because Kuhu is a very nice girl and her family is also good. If needed then I can talk to her family." Dad remarks.
"I understand you, dad. Still, I would say that give some time to both of them." I reply hoping he will understand my point.
"Alright, beta. We will wait for a few days." Dad replies smiling gently at me.
•••••••••
It's now afternoon and Kuhu has not come yet like she usually does every weekend. I think Lakshya bhaiya must have told her about the discussion that happened in the breakfast table.
I know they are both intelligent and can take the decision to be. But if me and Rudra didn't tell mom, dad about the thing going on between Kuhu and Lakshya bhaiya then God knows what could have happened. Still most of the people like arranged marriage in our country and so I didn't want to cause trouble for any of the girls family chosen by Maa and Dad knowing well that Lakshya bhaiya will never accept any of them.
But it is good that my in-laws don't have any problem with love marriage and they also like Kuhu. So if everything goes well then my best friend will always be with me.
I have spoken to Lakshya Bhaiya and explained to him that he should express his feelings to Kuhu. It's not like they don't talk to each other or don't get along well. Yes, they like to quarrel a lot while being together but it's all for fun purposes I know.
However, right now I am waiting for Rudra who has gone to get my gift. Don't know what type of gift he has gone to bring that is taking him so much time. Suddenly, I hear the sound of horn so I quickly run out of the house to see that Rudra is standing in front of his car along with Maa, Dad and Lakshya bhaiya.
"You were all inside, so when did you go out?" I ask the trio except Rudra.
"Bhabhi, we will talk later, first look at your gift." Lakshya bhaiya remarks pointing at the front seat of the car so I look at Rudra who smiles at me and opens the door.
"A puppy!" I exclaim loudly while looking at the cutie who is sitting on a little doggy bad.
"Happy Half Anniversary, Ishita." Everyone says aloud while I look at them with a bright smile on my face.
"Thank you so much for such a thoughtful gift." I reply before picking the little furball in my arms.
"This is a two-month-old Golden Doodle Puppy who is a Lil girl and still waiting for her new name." Rudra informs.
"New name? But why? Doesn't she has a name already?" I ask stroking behind the puppy's ear.
"Although her name is Candy, but if you want, you can select any other name for her." Rudra replies but I shake my head.
"No need for another name. I like candy." I retort.
"Okay, as you wish dear. Now let's get her inside but first let me do her aarti." Maa says and walks inside the house.
"Come on, let me hold her." Dad says and takes Candy from my hands before walks away towards the garden.
"I want to hold her too." Lakshya bhaiya whines while going behind Dad.
"So, how did you like the gift?" Rudra asks when there are only two of us left on the lawn.
"I liked it a lot." I reply while wrapping my arms around his neck for a hug.
"I am very happy to see you happy, Ishita and I will do anything to keep you happy." He says and wraps his arms around my waist pulling me towards him.
"Your presence is enough to make me happy." I reply laying my head on his shoulder.
"Let's go and welcome our little daughter to her new home." He says making me smile.
"Our little daughter?" I ask amusingly.
"Of course, she is our little daughter but that doesn't mean you get to give her all your time. Because I also need some of your time." He says pouting his lips while I burst into laughter.
"You are so silly, Rudra." I remark still giggling.
Both of us walk towards the doorway where Maa is waiting with holding an aarti thali in her hands. Dad and Lakshya bhaiya come back with Candy before giving her to me. I face Maa who is smiling brightly at the new member of our family and throw some rice on her little head. Then she starts doing aarti before holding a small plate full of turmeric water in front of me. I put Candy's front two paws on the water lightly and then walk inside with her in my arms.
Lakshya bhaiya hands me a tissue paper to wipe Candy's wet paws before I put her on the ground so that she can sniff her surroundings. Rudra drapes his arm around my shoulder making me lean back observing the way our little one is sniffing everything on her own.
"At least because of you finally a dog has come in the house, otherwise your father-in-law would never let me do it." Maa remarks making Dad scowl at her.
"You are saying as if I have never fulfilled any of your wishes." Dad replies grumbling under his breath.
"Mom, Dad! Both of you don't start arguing now. Just look at Candy, she is so adorably roaming all around the living room having fun." Rudra retorts.
"By the way Rudra, Diwali is next week so when will your clients come here?" Dad asks.
"They will be here on the day of the Diwali. I have told them that they can celebrate the festival with us and then the next day, we can do the meeting to finalize everything." Rudra replies.
