《Psycho》Day 18

The next day I walked into...my therapy room? Part of me felt like it was all a dream, but sure enough when I arrived it was all still there. I sat down in my seat, leaning back and looking around again. I could barely even think because of how...unusual all of this is. So I just sat.
"I guess I shouldn't be surprised to find you in here." I turned around to find Jason leaning against the doorway.
I sat up, not knowing how long I had been in here. "Sorry I didn't come down, I just..."
"I know," he cut me off with a nod. Even when I couldn't formulate words, or at least not in a good order, he still somehow understood what I meant. "As long as you end up eating something."
My head tilted down as I nodded in memory of what I did. "I promise," I said, looking back up at him.
He stood there for a minute, both of us wondering what to say next. "Oh, and since you're in here..." he trailed off as he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. He walked over to me and set it on my desk. I looked down and saw about ten names on it with dates and times. "They're names of members who want sessions. You can sort out scheduling once you meet with them of course."
"Where's your name?" I asked, finding it was missing from the list.
There was a pause before Jason spoke up. "Um...I won't be having any sessions."
"But yesterday..."
"I know what I said yesterday, but...I just think I'm too busy right now," he interrupted, avoiding my eye.
"Too busy for your mental health?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow. Jason sighed, looking away. I opened my mouth to start informing Jason about the importance of mental health, but then I realized what this was really about. I hung my head as I softly said, "This is about yesterday, isn't it?"

His hesitation was an answer itself. "Look...when I kissed you at the prison, it was nothing but fun and games. Now..."
"It's different because I kissed you?" I finished, facing him now.
"That's not it," he shook his head.
"Then what is?" I raised my voice instinctively.
"You can't have feelings for me!" he yelled.
"And why not?" I stood up, yelling right back.
We both realized how intense this was all getting and took a moment to calm down. Jason huffed, shaking his head. "It wouldn't work," he said under his breath, turning around and heading towards the door.
"What do you mean it wouldn't work?" I asked, following him to beat him to the door. "I'm here, aren't I? And it doesn't look like I'm leaving!" Jason grabbed the doorknob, but I slid in front of him and leaned against the door to stop him. "So what's holding you back?"
He stared at me, and I could see in his eyes that he wasn't angry...but sad rather. "You."
I suddenly softened at that one word. What did it even mean? I'm the one trying, so how could I be the problem? "What?"
"I've already taken so much from you...I can't take your love too."
My eyes moved to his hand, still on the doorknob. I reached for it, holding it with both of my own hands. I know now why I always felt something when we touched. "You're not taking," I said softly, looking up at him. "I'm giving."
Our eyes locked for a moment before we both moved in and our lips met. I may have been confused after yesterday, I may have been confused since coming here. But now I'm more sure than ever before...and I think Jason is too.
