《ORPHANAGE GIRL》Chapter 56

I was lying on my bed reading Rescue me by Sarra Manning when I heard a soft knock on my door.
I was still living with Charles as he said I could go back to my place in few days.
"Come in" I kept my book away, a smile plastered on my face as I saw Charles walking inside with a glass of milk.
"You still awake?" He kept the glass on the bed stand and sat next to me.
"Ah, just reading this book" I swayed the book
He got up and went to the glass table near the couch to grab the box of my medicines.
"Ugh" I groaned.
Charles chuckles, "Time for meds"
"I hate them. They tastes bitter" I made face, gagging
"Just few more days"
"You keep saying that" I pouted my lips to which he leans down and kiss turning them in a shy smile.
"Okay" I close my eyes and pinched my nose and swallowing the meds.
"Good girl" he pats my hair like I am a kid.
He sits down again as he slightly lean on my arms making me winch a little.
"So-sorry. I didn't- fuck" he said alarmed.
"Charles it's okay" I put my hands on his shoulder calming him
"Does it still hurts?" He asked softly
"A little"
He nodded his head as we fall in silence.
"I will resume the work from tomorrow" I said
"But you are still not-"
"It's been a week and I'm so bored at home. I have completed 2 novels and watched 3 series and 7 movies. I want to go" I stuck my bottom lips out with my puppy eyes.
He sigh in defeat.
"Fine. But I will drop you off and pick up"
"Deal" I grin at him as I hugged him.

"Okay now go to sleep" he stood up but I held his hand.
"Stay" I whisper
"Are you sure?"
"Yes" .
He looked at me then softly saying okay. Pulling off his shirt leaving his chest bare, I looked at him in awe. He climbed in pulling the duvet closer to us, I snuggle closer to him. He softly kiss my forehead, "goodnight Liv"
"Goodnight"
I was working on some manuscript when the telephone on my table rang.
"Hello"
"Ma'am some is here to see you" the girl said hesitantly
"Who?" I furrowed my eyes, who could be?
"Mr Maxwell"
A smile started playing on my lips, he just can't wait.
"Send him in" I ended the call, fixing my hair I put my work aside.
Knock.
"You really can't live-" I didn't finished the sentence.
I stood there, shocked.
"Miss Evans" Charles's father appears in front of me
"Mr Maxwell, what a pleasant surprise. Please come in" I tried sounding normal but my voice same out squeaky.
"I'm sorry to disturb you from your work" he said as he took a seat
"No worries" I sat down too.
We stayed in silence, as I fidget with my fingers.
"What will take? Coffee or Tea?"" I asked him nervously
"No. Anyway I won't stay long" he cleared his throat, "I want to talk to you about something important"
Important?
The car came to halt and I stepped out. I walked inside the glass door towards the receptionist.
"I'm here to see Mariah Reed" I said.
"Are you a fam-" the receptionist looked up, "Mr Maxwell. I-I will a-ask someone to take you to her"
She called someone.
"Take sir to cell number 127"
The sound of my footsteps echoes on the cemented ground as we walked.
"You can talk to her from this window. She is not in her stable mind. She might harm you" the boy said as he pointed at the small window. I walked to it, peeking inside.

She was lying on the floor, her face covered with her hair.
"I see you are relaxing here after what you did to Olivia" I said but then instantly regretted. She is not well, Charles, I reminded myself
"Charles" she sat up, smiling, "you came. I know you will come and see me. I know you love me too. They were saying you shot me but I told them my Charles my honey will never hurt me" she run towards me but the wall kept her away.
"Firstly I don't love you. My bodyguard did shot you at my order" anger started to build inside me, "you almost killed her" I shouted
"She needed to die. She needed to die like Jessica did. I will kill everyone who comes between us Charles. I will kill everyone" she looked at me with an expression that scares me.
She is fucking dangerous.
"You need help Mariah. Not me. And in this hospital you will get help. Forget about me I will never be yours. And don't fucking ever come near Olivia. Ever again"
Shit. I lost my patience again.
"I came here to tell you-" I can't forgive her, never.
"Nothing" I left the place but I could hear her yelling.
"Come back here. Don't leave me alone. They will kill me" she kept banging the door but I didn't turn back.
I came here to forgive thinking that she was not stable but I fucking can't forgive. She killed Jess, her own sister how sick is that and almost killed my Olivia. I would have lost her too.
I can't forgive her for that. If that makes me a bad person let it be.
I sat inside my car, driving off to Olivia's office.

Highest rank #1 in Historical He glared at me with irritation. "Come inside!" ...And I did. He pointed to the stack of books on the floor. "Pick them up and arrange them the way they're supposed to."With trembling hands, I did what he asked quickly. Fret in the way I moved, picking up the books into my arms and lap one by one only for them to fall back on the floor over and over. I was a mess, upset, and it was obvious. This wasn't the kind of first meeting I dreamed of.The second prince was mean, and he was irritable. He had no clue who I am which made me resent it even more.He scowled as he watched me made mistakes after mistakes and after a while, he grew frustrated and bent over, picking the books himself."Forgive me, I didn't mean to snarl at you the way I did. I'm not used to being distracted. No one ever walks in my office unless they have my permission. I don't even know how the guardsmen let you in." I wanted to say because unlike you, they recognized who I am. But I kept my mouth shut in fear of aggravating his anger. His voice took a lot gentler tone, I imagined he must've realized how upset I was and felt bad about it.I said nothing. When we're done, I rose up to my feet, couldn't wait to get out of this room. This man was so impolite to me that I couldn't wait to get away from him."I apologize, your highness. I didn't mean to distract you in your private office." I stepped back getting ready to leave when a sliver of sunlight struck highlighting my face. "Wait!" He murmured and I turned back to look at him."You're beautiful." He said breathlessly.I would have blushed, but he was so mean and rude to me that his compliment lost its impact long ago."I need to go," I told him."Wait." A wave of panic rose in the tide of his voice. The prince was afraid to lose me. "What's your name, girl?" He asked quickly. "Jasmine, my name is Jasmine, your highness.""My Jasmine?" He murmured hopeful.

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
