"What?" Taehyung frowned, shaking his head with confusion, as though I had spoken in a foreign language.
"I can't break up with him. At least not right now." I say and he simply stared at me, brows still knitted together.
"I think he's going through a lot, I just don't want to add on to his pressure." I said, hoping he'll understand.
"He cheated, Areum." He lets out in a low tone as he stared down at me.
"And I did too, okay? I just—" I took in a deep breath, looking at Jaesun through the glass panel. "I just need time." I looked back up at him and he nodded.
"And I'll give you time." He reaches out to grab my hand, intertwining his fingers with mine.
I tense up at his touch, nibbling against my bottom lip as I stared into his brown orbs.
"I just need to know that I'm not waiting for something that's never going to happen." He said, and I choke a little.
I avert my gaze, staring at my own two feet as I thought about it. "You're not." I assured him with a whisper and he gently massages the back of my hand with his thumb.
"Then take all the time you need." Taehyung let out with a smile as I glued my eyes back onto him.
"Areum?" The voice called out weakly and I instantly yank my hand away from Taehyung.
Jaesun looked at us with a frown plastered over his face. He threw a few glances at the both of us and then looks back at me. "Could you help me get the doctor?" He asked, brushing off Taehyung's presence.
"Y-yea, okay." I nodded as Taehyung cleared his throat, stuffing his hand into his jean pocket.
Jaesun walked back into his ward while I attempted to get his doctor.
"Wait," Taehyung called out from behind as I walked away. "What happened to your feet?" He asked the moment he noticed the bandage wrapped around it.

"It's nothing. Just a little cut." I said as I continued to walk forward.
"It doesn't look like nothing. Here, sit. I'll get the doctor." Taehyung said and without giving me a chance to react, he pushes me gently onto a seat as he walked away.
I sighed, watching him walk towards a nurse as I thought about how Aera would feel about this. Almost as if on cue, my phone rings and I answered it.
"Taehyung's with you?" She asked without even greeting.
"What?" I stupidly blurt, being confused with how she knew.
"Jaesun just messaged me. He said he saw the both of you talking." Aera spoke fast, causing anxiousness to grow deep within my chest.
"Aera-"
"Look, I know the both of you are friends but I thought you'd be on my side in this?" She let out, her voice cracking almost as though she was holding back her tears.
"Areum I-" And I instantly cover Taehyung's mouth with the palm of my hand, afraid that my sister would somehow hear him.
"Aera," I say her name to get Taehyung aware that I was talking to her. His eyes widened as he nodded, knowing that I wanted him to stay quiet.
"Of course I'm on your side." I said and I hear her whimper.
"Then why is he there?" She asked, her voice soft. I looked to Taehyung with a frown, not knowing how to respond.
"What is she saying?" He whispered over to me.
I pulled the phone away from my ears and placed it on my chest to muffle my voice. "She wants to know why you're here." I whisper back, instantly placing the phone back onto my ears the moment I hear her speaking.
"Shit." Taehyung cusses under his breath as he looked to the ceiling, trying to come up with an explanation.
"Unless he's there to talk to me, I don't see why it's necessary for the both of you to meet." Aera spoke and I mouthed the words 'I'm sorry' to Taehyung before saying what I thought.

"No, yea. That's exactly why he's here." I said and Taehyung's eyes dart to look at me. He stared at me with confusion and slight fear.
Aera sniffled lightly, "really?"
"Yea," I sighed, shaking my head. "He saw an ambulance leave our place and thought it might've been you." I said and Taehyung instantly grabbed either sides of me.
"What are you doing?" He whisper shouted at me as he shook me lightly. I pressed my palm against his chest, pushing him back slightly as I gestured for him to stay silent.
"Oh, so should I come over?" She asked, a spark of hope lighting up in her voice.
"No!" I said quickly. "Um- he's leaving so-"
"Then tell him to stay. I'll be there in 10." She said right before hanging up the phone.
"What the hell just happened?" Taehyung looked at me, running his fingers through his hair as he waited for my response.
"She's coming here." I said, shrinking back slightly as I expected him to lash out at me.
"Why?" He asked calmly, which got me puzzled.
"She thinks that you want to talk to her." I reply, still remaining cautious, expecting him to get upset but instead he sighs deeply.
"Okay." He said to himself, going into deep thought right after.
"Wait, aren't you mad?" I questioned and he arches an eyebrow in response.
"What? Of course not." Taehyung reached out to grab my hand. "This just means our situation's more complicated." He took in a deep breath to calm himself as he closed his eyes.
He reopened them and locked his gaze with me. "But don't worry about a thing." He smiled shyly at me before going on.
"Every little thing is gonna be alright." He said in a sing-song voice and I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Bob Marley, really?" I laughed as I admired the way he smiled, his eyes glimmering with a certain desire I couldn't distinguish. I always caught that look whenever he'd glance my way.
"Hey, I don't just like old movies." He said, referring to the song.
I simply giggled as I looked to the ground but then I feel his right hand travel up my neck, making me face him. He leaned in, rubbing the tip of his nose against mine before pulling away and all I could do was frown.
"What was that?" I cocked my head to the side, a subtle smile playing on my lips.
"Well, I can't kiss you." He said and I frowned slightly, not really sure what he meant. "You being in a relationship and all." Taehung explained, bringing up my hand to his face where his thumb ran over my fingers. "So I have to settle with that, until I can finally claim your lips." He said right before planting a quick kiss onto the back of my hand.
I feel the heat rush up to my face as the butterflies in my tummy came to life, dancing around in the pit of my stomach. I couldn't help but grin at his actions which left me completely speechless.
We simply stood there for a bit, looking into each other's eyes as a certain sense of tranquility washed over us but all of that was instantly ruined the moment a voice called out from a far.
"Taehyung!"
omg I'm getting so many questions. Yes, I said this book was based off a personal experience but I never cheated sjsks a lot of scenes in this book are mainly there to dramatise everything. I'll explain more after ending the book!
