《Sleep With Me | KNJ x Reader》Ch 35 | Proposition

The officer was kind enough to read the atmosphere and give you fifteen minutes instead of ten, but eventually had to knock before entering your room. Namjoon has already gotten out of the bed and is holding your hand in the loveseat next to you.
"Are you up to answering some questions?" he asks softly, kindness evident behind his eyes.
You slowly nod, gesturing for him to take a seat on the couch. He seats himself down onto the cushion, pulling out his pen and notepad, eyeing Namjoon on the other side of the bed.
"I want him to stay if that's okay," you say to the officer, squeezing Namjoon's hand. You have nothing against the gentleman before you, but it makes you nervous to be alone with another man right now.
He shifts his eyes back to you, pursing his lips. It's usually best to question victims alone, but this rookie cop isn't super interested in pissing off Kim Namjoon of BTS.
"Okay, he can stay," the officer sighs. "But he can't answer any questions for you. He has to be silent until we're done."
The both of you nod in agreement.
"First of all, I'm officer Lee," he smiles warmly. "I'm going to ask you questions, in detail, about last night. If at any point you're uncomfortable or need to take a break, let me know."
You squeeze Namjoon a little harder as you nod, already feeling a lump in your throat. You swallow it back, feeling safe as Namjoon smooths his thumb over your knuckles.
"Can you tell me what you remember, starting from the beginning?" he asks, already writing something onto his notepad.
"I had just finished getting ready when the doorbell rang," you say, staring down at your lap. "It happened so fast I don't really remember much. I just remember feeling a sharp pain in my head as soon as I opened the door and then blacking out. When I came to, they were pouring water on me to wake me up."
You begin telling the officer everything that happened, from the threats to the choking to the stabbing. Namjoon remains silent by your side, gently stroking your hand intermittently.
"And then she came back from her phone call," your voice cracks, tears swelling in your eyes. "She told me she'd never forgive me for sleeping with Namjoon, and that Namjoon would leave me if I were to get fucked by one of her men- oh sorry for the language," you say quickly. "But those were her words."
You feel Namjoon boiling with rage next to you, but he's keeping quiet like he promised.
"It's okay," Officer Lee assures you. "It's best to be as specific as you can. Did they sexually assault you?"
"No," you shake your head. "They were going to, but the police arrived before they could. The one with the scar had ripped my dress off and had his hand around my throat to stop me from screaming."
Namjoon has his head dropped, left elbow propping him up on his leg as his right hand grips yours on the bed. He's beginning to tremble with both sadness and rage, hearing all the details.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that," Officer Lee says softly. "I'm glad my team was able to arrive before anything else happened to you. They told me it was your cryptic phone conversation that saved your life."
"It was also Namjoon and Nanami," you smile. "They were able to figure it out. They're the ones that saved me. And I also want to thank the police and HYBE team for finding me so quickly."

"That's our job, Miss [Y/N]," he grins. "No need to thank us for doing our duties."
He stands up, sliding his notepad into his back pocket. "We were able to recover the recording," he says, walking towards the foot of the bed. "Your story aligns perfectly with the footage."
"Recording?" Namjoon croaks, head snapping back up towards the officer.
"Yes sir," he nods. "They had recorded everything. They had probably intended to use it as blackmail, but it ended up backfiring and giving us the solid evidence we need."
Namjoon didn't know it was possible to be filled with this much rage. He's never wanted to kill someone before. He's not sure who he would go for first, Hae-Ran or Scarface.
"A copy of that needs to go to our team," Namjoon says sternly. "I know Hae-Ran's father has power over the police. We can't lose that footage."
"Don't worry," he chuckles. "Your friend Jin has already explained everything to your company. Their first reaction was to get a copy of the video. It was sent over this morning."
You squirm in your position, finding it uncomfortable that some of the staff at Namjoon's agency will be watching that tape. You try your best to shake it off, knowing it's best for them to have a copy as well.
"Thank you," Namjoon exhales.
"It's no problem, Mr. Kim," he smiles, bowing before walking towards the door. "I'm going to head out. I'm glad you're doing okay Miss [Y/N]. Please give me a call if you need anything, I left my number with the nurse."
"I will Officer Lee," you smile dolefully. "Thank you again." He nods, closing the door behind him as he leaves the two of you alone again.
Namjoon has his head hanging down again, his hand trembling over yours. "I'm sorry," he chokes out. "I know you're telling me not to blame myself but it's hard. I have so much anger inside, I don't know what to do with it."
"You're going to take all that rage and make a bomb ass album out of it," you say bluntly.
His head slowly rises to look up at you, dumbfounded. He's in awe of how you can have a big smile across your lips right now.
He snorts before letting out a chuckle. "You're incredible, you know that?"
"Don't let this go to waste," you giggle. "I've been waiting on a new Cypher for so long."
He slowly stands up, removing his hand from yours to gently cradle your face between both of his hands, making sure to avoid the wound on your head.
He looks longingly into your eyes and your chest fills with butterflies. The way he's looking at you with so much love and adoration leaves goosebumps over your body.
He leans down to press the most delicate kiss against your lips, making your heart do backflips as all the pain evaporates from your body. Your lips tingle as he pulls away just slightly.
"I love you," he whispers before gently placing his lips to yours again. "Thank you for staying alive," he says between another kiss.
"Thank you for coming to get me," you smile against his kiss.
"I want to ask you something," his voice turning serious as he pulls back, still cupping your cheeks. You blink up at him, waiting for his question.
"Is it okay if I watch the footage?"
Your body tenses as you take in his words.

"I won't watch it if you don't want me to," he says, his voice a little softer as he caresses your cheek with his thumb. "But I would like to see it so I know exactly what you went through. And know the exact kind of punishment they'll need to receive tenfold."
He releases your face as you look down, pondering his question. It doesn't really bother you if he sees it, but you're worried about his mental state. You know it's a pretty brutal video.
"Again, if you don't want me to see it, I won't. You have my word," he assures you, sitting back down. "I understand if you're not comfortable with it."
"I don't really mind," you mumble, messing with the blanket over your legs. "But it'll be hard to look at. I don't want you to watch it alone. I know you're going to hate it and I don't need you going on a murder spree."
"Okay baby," he smiles softly. "I won't. I'll make sure to have someone with me."
"They have to be bigger and stronger than you too," you add.
"Deal," he chuckles, smoothing his hand over yours again.
"I, um..." you pause. "I said some things in the video that I didn't mean. She was asking about us and I was trying to be nonchalant and I-"
"It's okay baby," he smiles warmly at you. "I know you were just trying to survive. I know how you feel about me. Thank you for trusting me enough to watch it."
You nod as you bite into your lip.
"You'll never be hurt again," he says with a stern tone, making your eyes meet his. "You're going to be protected at all times. You'll never go through anything like that ever again, I promise you that."
Your tears begin to swell again at the sincerity behind his eyes. You feel safe and protected as you get lost in his gaze, wishing you could crawl out of this bed and bear hug him. His pain is your pain, and your pain is his pain.
Your heads slowly turn towards the entryway as you see a nurse slide the door open.
"Sorry to disturb you," she grins cheerily. "It's time to change your bandages."

"But I don't want to move," you whine, pushing your lips into a pout. "I just got my apartment back."
"I'm sorry, Miss [Y/N]," Mr. Song frowns. "We can keep making payments on your apartment but we'll need you to physically move until we catch Hae-Ran and her father."
As it turns out, Hae-Ran's father fled with her after getting caught in multiple cases of embezzlement and fraud. It's been two days since the incident and they're nowhere to be found, most likely having left the country.
"The company will handle everything," he assures you. "You won't have to lift a finger. We need to move you into the same apartment building as the others. It's the only one that's airtight where we can ensure no one can get to you."
There's something about Mr. Song's presence that calms you. His round face and kind eyes give you an unexplainable comfort, making you trust his words. He's sitting on the couch next to your hospital bed, dressed in denim jeans and a burgundy polo.
"Okay," you sigh, crossing your arms over your chest.
"It's up to you whether you'd like to move in with RM or get your own space," he smiles. "He said he is fine with either one, whichever you're more comfortable with."
Your brows raise in surprise. The thought of living with Namjoon hadn't even crossed your mind.
You nibble on your lip, trying to sort through your thoughts. You love the idea of being able to live with Namjoon, you were practically there every night anyway, but you also feel like it might be too soon. You've never lived with a boyfriend — or almost boyfriend — before.
"Can I think about it?" you ask.
"Of course," he grins, pulling out some papers from his briefcase. "You'll be discharged tomorrow so I just need to know by then."
You nod, nervously twiddling your thumbs.
"Now we also need to talk about the contract," Mr. Song says, standing up and placing the documents on the tray table in front of you.
"I thought Namjoon had already talked to you about it?" you question.
"He did, but we did not come to an agreement," he frowns, pulling a pen from his shirt pocket. "He said he wanted to get rid of the contract entirely, but that is not an option right now, especially considering what's happened recently."
"So I have to keep accepting money to sleep with him?" you whimper, feeling yourself sink into the mattress.
"Unfortunately we do have to incentivize the contract," he says softly, sensing your disappointment. "It's a stronger protection for us legally."
You wince as you adjust your position, trying to sit up higher. Mr. Song quickly moves to help by repositioning the pillow behind you.
"I have a different option for you to consider, if you're completely against the original contract," he says, moving back towards the documents.
"What is it?" you ask curiously.
"You quit your job and become an official translator for HYBE instead."
Your jaw almost lands in your lap.
"Instead of the incentive being cash, the incentive becomes employment," he smiles, pulling a different set of papers from his bag. "You aren't listed as a full time employee on the current contract, since the terms are on an as-needed basis." He points to the paragraph headlining the terms of payment. "With the new agreement, you would receive a normal salary. I know you've been uncomfortable with the high dollar amount you're getting. We pay our employees well but it definitely won't be $32,000 per week," he laughs.
You stare down at the documents in astonishment. You love your coworkers, but you aren't particularly attached to your current company. Especially not Mr. Min. "Can I think about this one too?"
"Of course," he chuckles, lifting the strap of his briefcase over his shoulder. "I know it's a lot to take in at once. Let's meet up tomorrow morning before your discharge and we can talk again."
You nod, still gaping at the papers.
You lean back against your upright hospital bed and stare at the ceiling after Mr. Song leaves. Your mind is going into overdrive with all the new information and events over the last few days.
Namjoon is at the studio right now; you had to force him to leave. None of the members or staff were saying anything about Namjoon spending so much time at the hospital over the past two days, but you know they're working on a big project right now. You know they need him there.
"Hey bitch!" Nanami beams from the doorway. "Can I come in? I have some people with me."
You sit back up, nodding for them to enter. Your eyes widen when you see Boram and Jeffrey walk through the door. Luckily the bandage around your head has already been taken off, but the ones around your wrists and thigh still remain.
"Oh my god," Boram says shakily, speed-walking to your bedside as Jeffrey follows slowly behind her, stopping at the foot of the bed. Boram is already crying while Jeffrey has an unreadable expression on his face, his eyes boring into yours.
"I'm okay," you smile shyly.
"We know everything," Jeffrey says softly. "We know you're not okay."
As your breath hitches in your throat, you break eye contact and look out the window, blinking back tears. You're not really sure how Jeffrey can see right through you like that.
You clear your throat before speaking. "What all do you know?"
"Everything," Boram whimpers, gripping your comforter. "From the sleeping contract to why you're hurt."
Your eyes snap back to them in surprise. "Wait, you guys really know everything? How?"
"A man named Mr. Song picked us up from the bullet train," Jeffrey answers, moving to the other side of your bed. His fingers lightly trace over the bandage on your wrist as his eyes soften. "He said we knew too much and that we needed to sign a contract. I told him we'd only sign it if we were told the full story."
You're a little irritated that Mr. Song told other people without consulting you, but you know he's just doing what he can to protect Namjoon. That's his top priority.
"He came to me too," Nanami grins, taking your hand. "He also gave us an interesting proposition."
"A proposition?" you question, raising a brow.
"Yep," Jeffrey smirks, placing his hands on his hips. "You're looking at the newest translators for HYBE."
