"So that teddy bear was yours?" Mrs. Kim turns back to ask.
"Jin gave it to me," you smile shyly. "I named him Mr. Bubbles."
You're squeezing the teddy bear camera to your chest, pointing its face outwards to the front of the luxury Bentley Bentayga that the butler is driving. You and Jin are seated in the back while his mother is on the left middle row seat.
"That's so nice of you, son," she smiles. "I'd noticed it in your room and now it makes sense."
Jin smiles and grabs your cheeks to make you look at him. "Anything for her," he grins arrogantly before gently pressing his lips to yours.
"Jin," you say angrily, smacking his chest. "There are others present."
"Sorry," he chuckles. "You're just so cute when you're embarrassed."
"You don't need to be embarrassed about anything in front of me," Mrs. Kim beams. "We're practically a family now."
A shiver runs down your spine as you squeeze the teddy bear closer to your chest. Jin's hand that's been resting on your thigh gives you a gentle squeeze.
After about another half hour of driving, the butler finally pulls up to a large shopping mall in the middle of Gangnam. You all shuffle out of the vehicle and you gape at the massive gray structure.
"Let's go, [Y/N]," Mrs. Kim says cheerily, grabbing your hand in hers. You nod and hand Mr. Bubbles to Jin as she drags you around, Jin following closely behind. She makes you spend a good three hours shopping around and making you try on different outfits. By the time you're at the last store she's already spent close to $20k on you alone.
"You look stunning!" she squeals as you walk out in a beautiful beige bodycon dress that flows just past your knees, the asymmetric fabric splitting up your left thigh, showing off just the right amount of skin. The top features a playful off the shoulder look with a plunging neckline, the cleavage a little too revealing for your taste but you'll wear whatever the crazy woman wants if it makes her happy.
"Wow," Jin breathes out, setting the teddy bear down to walk over and look you up and down. "You really do look stunning."
"Do I?" you blush, twirling yourself in the mirror. "Isn't it a little scandalous?"
"No, it's perfect," Jin grins, grabbing your shoulders to give you another long look up and down. "I'll definitely be taking this off of you tonight."
Your face turns beet red and Jin sprints away laughing as you raise up your hand like you're going to hit him. "Stop giving me such cute reactions and I'll stop teasing you," he smirks.
"Keep this on," Mrs. Kim smiles. "You should wear this to dinner. Jin, go try on that tan suit, it would match beautifully with [Y/N]'s dress."
He rolls his eyes but obeys her orders and follows the assistant to the back.
"So tell me dear," Mrs. Kim says, pulling your hand to seat the two of you at the table Mr. Bubbles is perched on. "What made you fall for my Seokjin? Are you completely over Namjoon?"
Your shoulders stiffen and your cheeks flush as you look down at your lap.
"I don't really know how to explain it," you mumble. "Jin is just so good and patient with me but Namjoon never was." Your stomach drops as that boldfaced lie leaves your mouth. You know Namjoon can hear this conversation and even though it's bullshit it still has to hurt.

"Was Namjoon not good to you?" she frowns. "He seems like a nice young man."
"He wasn't bad but he wasn't good either," you smile shyly. "He was just always doing the bare minimum. I spent a lot of nights alone and I feel like we never fully trusted each other."
"I'm sorry you had to go through such a heartbreak but I'm sure this is a blessing in disguise," she says softly, grabbing your hands in hers. "I know my Seokjin will always take care of you. I can see it in his eyes that he's totally fallen for you."
"You think so?" you blush and look into her eyes. "I'm a bit nervous to fall for someone so quickly again. I don't want to hurt anymore."
"Don't worry honey," she smiles warmly, but the warmth doesn't quite reach her eyes. "As long as you treat him right and know your place you'll be fine."
"K-know my place?" you ask nervously.
"Yes, that you'll always be second place behind me."
Your eyes widen as you try to swallow back the nausea. You feel a small shift in the atmosphere as she bores her eyes into yours.
"My eldest son has a very successful marriage and it's thanks to me," she says with a lower tone, but a small smile still dances across her lips. "I plan to ensure that same happiness for Seokjin, and that means you'll need to listen to what I say."
Your eyes frantically search hers as you try to control your tremors. You take a deep breath in and slowly exhale to calm yourself.
"Okay," you nod. "But I want us to have a good relationship, so I hope you'll always keep an open line of communication with me. I don't like passive aggressiveness, I'd rather just talk it out."
"This is why you're my favorite," she winks, letting go of your hands as Jin returns.
"Damn," you breathe out. Not only did the assistant put Jin in a gorgeous honey colored suit but she also slicked his hair back, exposing that godforsaken forehead.
"Did I get more handsome?" he grins, arrogantly placing his hands on his hips.
"Fuck," you gape at him, eyeing him up and down. "Yes you did. You look so sexy right now."
You've always been a whore for Bangtan forehead.
Instead of laughing or cracking another joke Jin actually freezes up and avoids your eyes, his hand covering his mouth while his cheeks turn pink.
Interesting tactic, you think to yourself.
"Here you go, Miss," the assistant smiles, handing you a pair of white two inch heels.
"Thanks," you nod.
"Let me," Jin says, taking the shoes from the assistant. You watch him drop down to one knee in front of you, slipping the first heel on like you're Cinderella. Your cheeks genuinely flush at this act as he touches you so delicately, softly gripping your calf to slip the other shoe on.
"They're beautiful," he smiles down at the shoes before looking up at your face. Both of your breaths hitch as his eyes meet yours and you watch his face flush a deep red before standing back up.
"Mother, where are we going for dinner?" he asks, turning away from you.
"It's a surprise," she grins. "But [Y/N] I need you to go to the back so she can do your hair and makeup. It's almost time for our reservation so we do need to head out soon."

"Okay," you grin, happily following the assistant to the back. It's been a while since you were able to get dolled up.
After about thirty minutes you return back to the main area to see Jin facing his mom with his back to you. After tapping him on the shoulder you place your hands on your hips and ask, "Did I get more handsome?" playfully throwing his words right back at him.
Jin's eyes meet yours as he turns around and you watch him freeze. He doesn't move or say anything, he's just frozen in place as his eyes search all over you.
"Hello?" you wave your hand in front of his face, snapping him out of whatever trance he's in. His eyes widen as his cheeks flush a new shade of red, extending all the way to his ears.
Damn, he really should've gone into acting.
"Wow," Mrs. Kim giggles. "You're the first girl to make my Seokjin speechless."
His eyes dart away from you as his hand covers over his mouth. "Yeah," he says shakily. "You look incredible. I don't even know what to say."
"Babe am I making you nervous?" you tease, placing your hands behind your back and taking a step to him, only leaving inches between your faces.
His eyes snap back to yours before flickering down to yours lips. "Yeah," he says huskily. "You are."
One hand anchors your hip while the other cradles your neck and he presses his lips to yours, tilting your head back to glide his tongue across yours. You whimper into his mouth as he greedily tastes you, pulling you tightly against his firm body.
"Jin," you pant, pulling back for air. "There's people here."
"So?" he smirks, crashing his lips against yours again. You melt into him and let Jin have his way with your mouth, feeling him squeeze your hip as your hands rest against his chest.
"Jin," you gasp, having to pull back for air again. "You're going to ruin my makeup."
"Okay, fine," he chuckles, finally letting you go. He must've smudged your lip gloss pretty good because the assistant shuffles over to wipe your face and reapply some powder before adding a new layer of lip gloss.
"Here, honey," Mrs. Kim smirks at the assistant, handing her the black card without even glancing at the price tag of anything. "Give us some makeup wipes too, she'll probably need them."
Your cheeks turn pink as you smack Jin on the arm, earning you a hefty windshield wiper laugh.
"Let's go, kiddos," she grins, handing you Mr. Bubbles. "It's time for dinner."
You all pile back into the luxury SUV after her butler pulls the car around. It's about a fifteen minute car ride before the vehicle comes to a stop and the door is pulled open. You stuff the small teddy bear into your purse with its head still sticking out before Jin hops out and extends his hand to you, helping you out of the car.
He turns you around and your stomach sinks as you take in the tall hotel building. Mrs. Kim brought you to a steakhouse. The same steakhouse you went to with Namjoon. Your eyes make contact with Iseul who's standing at the entrance with a confused look on her face.
Jin gently places his hand on the small of your back to usher you forward. Your legs tremble slightly as you make your way to the entrance when you see a streak of light from the side, followed by multiple flashes that almost blind you.
You squint as hundreds of cameras rush towards you and Jin swallows you into his chest, trying to hide your face. All you can hear are the yells from reporters, slamming Jin with questions and accusations. Security guards pour out from the hotel to make a small path for the three of you, your face staying hidden under Jin's suit jacket the whole way there.
The glass doors slam closed as you make it inside, Jin keeping you ducked down until you're both completely out of sight from the reporters.
"Oh my god," Jin breathes out, grabbing your shoulders to look at him. "Are you okay? They didn't touch you at all, did they?"
"I think I'm okay," you say just as shakily, looking around yourself before your eyes meet his again. "That was insane. You deal with that all the time?"
"Yeah," he groans, pressing his palm to his forehead. "That was not good. They definitely got a couple clear shots of you."
Jin angrily turns towards his mother. "What the hell was that?" he grits through his teeth.
"It wasn't me," she shrugs, clearly lying. "Don't blame me for things out of my control."
"Do you not understand how dangerous this is for [Y/N]?" he seethes, taking a step towards her. "If anything happens to her I swear to god-"
"Babe," you say sternly, grabbing his arm. "It's not Mom's fault, it's okay."
"It's not okay this is-"
His breath hitches as you step closer to cup his face.
"It's okay because I don't mind if people know," you smile warmly at him. "You're all I need and I know you'll protect me."
His cheeks flush before he nods and looks at the ground. "Sorry Mother," he mutters. "I'm just protective of her."
"It's okay son," she smiles cheekily. "Let's just enjoy dinner."
"She's right," you grin, grabbing Jin's hand. "Let's enjoy dinner and we can worry about the reporters tomorrow."
It's one more fucking night, you think to yourself. Don't lose your cool Kim Seokjin.
"It's good to see you again Mrs. Kim," Iseul smiles, walking up to the three of you. Your throat tightens and you grip the strap of your purse, trying to calm your anxiety.
"Iseul, my darling," Mrs. Kim smiles, giving her a peck on each cheek. "I have someone I want you to meet."
You bite into your lip and look down at your fingers laced with Jin's. The last time you saw Iseul it was to check out of the hotel after getting your back blown out by Namjoon in the penthouse.
She's going to think I'm disgusting.
"It's nice to meet you," Iseul says softly and your eyes snap up to hers. The look in her eyes makes you want to cry, but not from sadness. She's not looking at you in confusion or in disgust, she's looking at you with nothing but warmth behind her eyes. Like she knows.
"H-hi," you say nervously, giving her a small bow. "I'm [Y/N]."
"Thanks so much for coming to my restaurant," she smiles. "Let me show you the way."
Jin puts his hand on your back again to guide you behind Iseul. You take in the familiar crimson walls with white drapes, and luckily your table this time is on the opposite side of the restaurant, still relatively secluded. You and Jin can see the other customers looking down at their phones and then towards the two of you. The pictures have already started circulating online.
"We'll take the usual, Iseul," Mrs. Kim grins. "And bring your most expensive wine. We're celebrating tonight."
"Of course, madam," she bows before turning to the kitchen.
"Isn't this place nice?" Mrs. Kim asks as her son pulls out your chair for you to sit down.
"It is," you nod. Jin takes your purse to hang it on the back of your chair before sitting down.
"Did you know Namjoon is a shareholder for this place?"
Your body tenses as his name rolls off her tongue.
"Is he?" you play off calmly. "What a coincidence."
"The man is a fool but at least he has good taste," she snickers, making you want to drag her out by her hair. She can talk all the shit she wants about you but her talking about Namjoon makes your blood boil.
Iseul comes back with three glasses and a bottle of wine that looks like it could cost more than a new car. You watch as she pours a glass for each of you before saying, "The food will be out shortly."
Once she returns, you and Jin both try to force as much of the heavy steak down as possible, feeling guilty for not being able to enjoy such a delicious meal.
You gasp and sit straight up as you feel a familiar sensation downstairs. Not the good kind.
"Please excuse me," you say frantically, grabbing your purse and running to the bathroom. You bust through the doors and toss Mr. Bubbles onto the counter.
Oh thank god, you think to yourself.
You just started your period and now you have an out. You have a reason not to sleep with Jin tonight. For the first time ever you're thanking god for an early period.
"[Y/N]?" you hear Jin's mom enter the bathroom. "Is everything okay?"
"Um... yes and no," you answer.
"What's wrong honey?"
"I just started my period," you groan, pretending to be upset. "Luckily I made it in time, I'd rather die than get anything on this dress you bought me."
"Oh don't worry sweetheart," she giggles. "We've all been there."
After a few minutes you come out of the bathroom to find her leaned against the counter and smiling. You grip the back of your neck as your cheeks flush a light pink. "Sorry, that was a little embarrassing."
"It's really no problem," she laughs. "I'm glad I'm already finished with menopause."
You feel the air suddenly get a little colder as Mrs. Kim steps closer to you. Goosebumps spread all the way up your arms as she grabs your hands in hers.
"Let's not make another mistake like last time," she smiles. But there's no kindness or joy behind her curved lips. There is only malice and spite and you can feel it as you breathe in.
"A m-mistake?" you ask nervously, feeling your hands beginning to tremble. The atmosphere has completely shifted and you can feel the hostility in your bones.
Her smile disappears as her eyes darken and bore into yours, making your heart jump to your throat. The last time you were this terrified of someone standing in front of you it was Hae-Ran, and she had a weapon. Jin's mother has you paralyzed just from her mere presence.
"If you ever deny my son the pleasure he so rightfully deserves from you again, you're going to regret it."
