20 Years Ago....

3rd Person POV

An alarm was blaring throughout the pack house, and yells of pain were heard outside. The Feral Ice pack had attacked, and they weren't going to stop until they killed everyone.

"Hide in here baby," the mother whispered as she hid him in a closet. "Mommy's going to go fight now, stay here."

"But mommy," the boy whined. "I don't want you to go!"

"Shhh honey," the mother started crying and looked around the bedroom. "Bad people are here, mommy has to make them disappear."

"Okay," the boy's wide eyes looked up. "But before you leave can I tell you something?"

"Yes honey," the mother wrapped her hands around the boy's. "What do you want to say?"

"That I love-" the boy was cut off by a loud and feral growl. Sounds of heavy paws could be heard from outside.

"Stay quiet and keep the door closed," the mother murmured. She closed the door of the closet and pulled a knife out of her boot. She was the Luna of this pack, and she would fall with the rest of her wolves.

The boy stood still inside the closet and listened. He whimpered as he heard yells from his mother and tears fell down his face when he realized that she was dying.

"Remember this the next time you try to back out of a bargain," a masculine voice said. Then, the boy could hear a body drop to the floor. A minute later, he opened the closet door and saw his mother's dead body surrounded with a pool of blood.

"Mommy," the boy cried out. "Mommy wake up!" He shook her, but she was already turning pale and her eyes were closing.

"Nate, this is your pack, you will be the alpha," the mother smiled sadly. "Please make your father and I proud." She shut her eyes and her body went limp.

"No! Mommy! Mommy!" Nate burst into tears as he held his mother's dead body. "Please come back, please." Nothing he did helped, as she was dead. "I'll make you proud mommy, I will lead this pack."

Nate clenched his fists, and even though he was only 7, he knew that he would kill all those who hurt him and his pack in the future.
