I didn't scream or cry because if I did my punishment will be worst.

Then the lights turned on I looked to see it was my brothers and Alessandro. Or as they like me to call them sirs and master.

After 20 more whips. Someone grabbed my hair from behind and dragged me across the basement and put my head in the tub of cold water. They did it until I couldn't breathe. My lungs were on fire.

I woke up breathing heavily. It was just a nightmare. It's been 4 years since I escaped that terrible place. But I still can't forget the past.

Every time I just feel so afraid that they will find me.

'It's ok I am far from there they won't be able to get me". I thought reassuring myself as I got from the bed and went to the bathroom I did my morning routine and got dressed.

I went to the kitchen and took some cereal out for breakfast.

As I started eating my phone dinged. I looked to see it was a text from Stella. Stella is my best friend. I remember the first time I met her

I was returning home from grocery shopping. As I walked past an alley I heard a scream I turned back and went in the alley I looked to see it was a girl she was surrounded by two buff guys. So I quickly hid behind a bin and called 999. After talking to them I took out my pocket knife and pepper spray. And the bag I had was heavy so I went behind the man and hit him hard with the bag. He fell to the ground groaning in pain then I kicked the other man where the sun doesn't shine and sprayed the pepper spray. Then I turned towards the girl and said: " it's ok let's go".

Just as we were about to go the man I hit with the bag got up and grabbed my wrist so I kicked him in his jewel.

Then I heard a police siren. The man grabbed his partner and they started to run. A police officer came to us and said

" Are you girls ok? Which direction they went".

" We are fine and they went that side," I said gesturing to the side they went.

They arrested the men. And after thanking us they left.

" hey are you ok," I asked looking at the girl.

" I am fine and thank you so much for helping me," she said.

" There is no need to thank me it's what a decent human is supposed to do, " I said.

" I am Stella knight and what is your name," she said

" I am Katelyn Walker," I said

After that, we both exchanged numbers and started hanging out. She also introduced me to her boyfriend Dominic.

I looked at the text.

After our conversation and eating breakfast. I did the dishes and grabbed my bag on the way. I locked the apartment door and made my way to the bus stop.

After a few minutes, I reached college. As I reached the entrance I was caught in a tight hug by Stella.

" I missed you," she said.

" I can't breathe," I said.

" oh sorry," she said releasing me from the hug.

" And you just saw me yesterday," I said.

" yes that means 14440 minutes or 86400 seconds," She said.

" ok ok now come on let's go to the class," I said

I was studying psychology and Stella was studying medicine. We both had almost the same classes.

It was now lunchtime I and Stella were walking to the cafeteria. Stella and I had 4 friends, 1 girl and three boys. Ava Smith and her boyfriend Mason Davis, Elijah William and his boyfriend Jayden Brown.

We all were quite popular. Ava was a cheerleader but not the stereotypical one. Mason was a trouble maker. Elijah, because he was a member of the student council and Jayden was a captain of the track team. Stella and me because of our grades.

But we tended to have not many friends. As I and Stella entered the cafeteria. And got the food we looked around and saw Ava waving towards us. We reached our table.

" Hey guys," I said in return I got a chorus of hi and hellos. I sat between Jay and Mas. Stella was sitting in front of me and in between Ava and Eli.

After that, we chatted and joked around. Soon the lunch was over we went to our classes.

After college was over me and Stella bid goodbye to our friends then went to Dominic's cafe where I worked.

After my shift, Dominic and Stella dropped me off. I went to my room and changed into an oversized t-shirt and shorts. I made some pasta for dinner and went to sleep hoping I won't get another nightmare.
