《Loveless Marriage》Chapter 10

I looked up at her almost dropping my fork and spoon.
" Umm..." I murmured as I thought of something to reply back to her. " Mum, we are not planning for children now," Daniel replied.
I blew out a breath of air, silently thanking him for saving me. " But isn't it time for a kid or two to run around in the mansion?" She asked, directing her question to me.
" Mum, both of us are busy with our work. I don't think we can commit to having a child now," I replied, peering up at her cautiously.
" There is nothing wrong with taking some time off from work. Come on, you do know that I am getting older as the days go by. I would, of course, want to play with my grandchild." She informed.
"Mum, we have yet to discuss the topic of kids," I mentioned. " Hannah dear, it has been 10 months since both of you have been married. I think it is about time both of you give us some good news, don't you think honey?" She asked Dad.
Dad contemplated giving an answer to Mum but decided against it finishing with a nod.
I sighed as Daniel expressed, " Mum, we will try to give you the happy news when we feel like we want to have children. Please stop pressuring us."
I tried not to look at Daniel as my face was flushed. We continued to eat while Mother continued to hint about babies.
Dinner had finally ended. I invited them to stay over the night as it was late. They had agreed after some persuasion from Daniel.
After almost tucking them into bed, I turned to 'our' room and opened the door.
I just hope that he doesn't start asking why I was crying earlier.
I walked to the door that connected to my room and picked up my nightwear from my closet. I got back to his room and entered the bathroom to see the shower running.

Daniel was under the shower as the mist from the hot air fogged the glass separating the both of us. But my eyes traced along the hard lines of his back to his butt which was hidden away by fog.
I almost groaned out before starting to blush, realizing that I was not supposed to see that.
I hurriedly sat down on the bed, fanning my face, hoping that my blush would go away. Daniel came out of the bathroom donning a towel around his waist. Water droplets seemed to work in my favor as the slid down his body to his v-line only to vanish into the towel.
My blush started to creep onto my cheeks as I looked away from him. " Is something the matter, Hannah?" His rough voice reached my ears. " No, no, nothing like that. I was waiting for you to come out." I replied and rushed into the bathroom and locked the door.
Can someone save me already?
I leaned against the basin, waiting for my blush to go away. The image of him in the shower was imprinted in my brain.
No matter how much I tried to not think about it, my mind ended up on his hidden butt. " Urgh! What is wrong with me?!" I shouted to myself, unaware of how loud my voice was.
" Hannah, are you sure you are ok?" Daniel knocked on the door, concerned. " I am fine, don't worry," I replied before hanging my nightwear on the rack.
Removing my clothes, I stepped into the shower under the hot water, relaxing my muscles. I closed my eyes to think about something else but his naked form appeared. When I opened my eyes, I turned around to see if he was inside.
Breathing properly, I hurriedly washed my hair and body. Unknowingly my hand slid in between my thighs. I could feel the desire pooling in between my thighs. I shook my head, clearing my thoughts and turned the shower off.

Toweling myself dry, I wore my clothes and faced the mirror to brush my teeth. I noticed that my blush still had to go. Instead of disappearing, it deepened.
Maybe I am running a fever?
I placed the back of my hand against my forehead but it seemed fine. My temperature was fine. I checked my pulse just in case but it was also fine.
Why am I still blushing? Oh, wait, Daniel...
I washed my face hoping that my blush would go away. When I looked back at the mirror, my blush had crept to my neck.
I smacked myself on my forehead and threw my dirty clothes into the laundry basket and walked out of the bathroom. Daniel had sat down on the bed with a pair of sweatpants and his computer resting on his thighs.
This is a very familiar scene after all.
I silently walked towards the door connecting our bedrooms. " Where are you going?" He asked looking up from his computer. " I should sleep in my room, right? I mean you would not want me to sleep with you..." I muttered loud enough for him to hear.
" What?" His voice thundered. " I said that you would not want me to sleep in the same bed as you," I repeated, louder this time.
He was standing before me in a second. " And why would you think that I would not want you to sleep in the same bed as me?" He asked, strolling towards me.
" We have never really slept in the same bed before. So I thought that you would want me to sleep in my own room," I replied.
" Well, experiences give us knowledge. So come and lay down on the bed." Daniel replied pulling me to the bed. I was about to protest when he shot me a look. I slowly sat down as he went back to his computer." So I just sleep, on your bed?" I asked peering at him cautiously.
" Yes, don't worry. I will not kill you." He replied, tapping away on his laptop. " That is very reassuring," I mumbled and got under the duvet. As my head hit the pillow, a soft peck was placed on my cheek.
" Is that reassuring enough?" He asked looking at me, as I realized how our positions were. His front was close to my back as his head towered over mine. His hand was over mine, making sure I was not going to move away from him.
" Huh?" I asked, feeling giddy even though I am lying down. I saw a small smile peek from his lips before he drove back down for my cheek. Even though the way he came down was fast, his lips landed softly on my cheek. It was not a small peck though. He had effectively planted his soft lips on my cheek, refusing to remove them.
His head came up slightly as his lips still grazed my cheek. " Is that assuring enough?" He whispered, his lips sending tingle into my cheek. " Yes," I muttered, blinking furiously in shock. He pulled his head up higher and smiled at me. " Are you sure?" He asked, his smile still evident.
" D...definitely," I stuttered as he chuckled at my stutter. " I never thought that I would say this but your stutter was adorable," He informed, as my blush filled my cheeks. He kissed my forehead this time and gazed at me for a while. " Go to sleep, Hannah." He asked before moving away from me.
I sighed in relief as I closed my eyes, gently calming my heart. Sleep soon caught me in a spell, dragging me into something I didn't want.
