Adriana P.O.V.
"Can you please just talk to him, Adriana?"
I shook my head feverently at Madison. Madison was my best friend and the captain of the cheer-team. I always found it funny how the most gorgeous cheerleader girl was friend with the biggest nerd in the class. I sighed into palm and muttered to Madison,
"I can't have, Mads. Have you seen me?"
I gestured to my loose jeans and baggy hoodie. Madison scoffed and glared at me,
"Yes I have and if you took off those dorky glasses and baggy clothes you would be just as popular as me."
I slid my glasses up my nose and frowned at her,
"I would not be. And I am not pretty. I haven't even had my first kiss yet. No guy wants to kiss me."
Madison rolled her eyes,
"You are impossible. Just go take a risk and if you get rejected you can move on. Seriously, its senior year and you are still a single virgin. Get some high-school experience."
I felt nauseous at the thought of talking to him. Madison nudged me in the ribs and motioned with her eyes at the person standing by our lunch table. My heart leaped into my throat. Jake Collins. He was six feet tall of pure insanely gorgeous charismatic flesh. From his sweeping black hair and crystal blue eyes all the way down to his long muscular legs. His biceps flexed enticingly when he crossed his arms over his broad chest. Jake flashed us a perfect smile that made my heart swoon. My mouth was dry and I did not know what to do.
"Hey Madison."
Chills ran up my spine at the sound of his low sexy husky voice. Madison smiled and waved. Jake's eyes flitted over to me and he asked,
"Who is this, Madison?"
I felt heat rush to my cheeks and my heart clenched painfully. He actually noticed me!
"This is Adriana."
Madison pointed to me and I shifted uncomfortably at his appraising eyes. He blinked in surprise,

"Ah the Bookworm. So this is the class Nerd?"
I felt my heart crack a little bit. I already knew thats how everyone saw me but it still hurt to hear it from him. I felt angry, which surprised me. I crossed my arms and glared at him,
"Well if it isn't the man-whore of the senior class of San Diego High?"
My own eyes widened at my words as well as his. Who says something like that to the boy they are in love with. Jake gave me a dangerous smile. He ruffled my hair and chuckled,
"Feisty eh? Didn't expect that from our own class Nerd."
After my brain started working after realizing he was touching my hair and it felt nice I shook my head and snapped,
"Flirty eh? Expected from our own class man-whore."
My heart was throbbing from pain. He only saw me as a nerd. I was a nerd but my irrational heart was still angry and hurt. Madison's hands and eyes were pleading with me to shut up. I refused to drag my glare away from Jake's. The air around us with stiff anger. Then Jake tore his eyes away from me and chuckled,
"Whatever. Bye Bookworm."
When he had walked away Madison turned to me speechless. Then she slammed her fist on the table, shaking my lunch tray and making me jump.
"What the hell was that?!"
I winced and buried my face in my hands. I wailed,
"I don't know I was just hurt he called me a nerd and a bookworm!"
Madison stood up and grabbed my hand, yanking me roughly to my feet.
"We are going shopping and remaking you into a girl he can't resist to fix this mess you made."
I pulled against her hand and whined,
"But it's still school."
She twisted her head to glare at me, giving me her "Shut the hell up or I will kill you" look.
"We are ditching."

"I can't believe I ditched, Madison. I never ditch."

Madison did not even look up from the dress rack,
"Thats why you are known as a nerd. Now try this on for the party tonight."
She shoved a small sleeveless black dress into my hands. I sighed and vanished into the changing room. After I pulled it on I gaped at my reflection. The dress only went to mid-thigh and hugged all my curves. It made my chest appear larger than it was and set off my green eyes and long brown hair. For the first time in my life I felt sexy. I pulled open the curtain and walked to Madison lounging on a couch in the waiting room. Her jaw dropped and motioned with her finger for me to twirl. After I did she squealed,
"That is the one! We are buying that and I don't care if you don't like it!"
Her blue eyes drifted down to my long legs and nodded in approval,
"You actually shave your legs. I am proud of you, my little nerd."
I blushed and vanished the dressing room to take the dress off. Once back in my comfortable clothes we took my dress to the counter to pay for it. The cashier was a rather adorable guy our age. He winked at me as he took the dress and asked flirtatiously,
"How are you two beautiful ladies doing today?"
I blinked in surprise when I realized he was talking to me. Most guy were drawn to Madison's wavy blonde hair and blue eyes so I was usually the one watching the flirting. I smiled and peered at his name tag.
"Well Isaac I can't complain how are you?"
He winked and grinned,
"I'm good now."
I blushed and stared at my shuffling feet. He scanned my dress and I payed for it. As we walked out of the store I heard Isaac yell,
"You are welcome back in here anytime!"
Madison grinned at me and nudged me with her elbow,
"Hey he was pretty cute."
I giggled in embarrassment. I patted my pocket and I froze.
"Oh crap I left my wallet on the counter. Wait here, Madison."
I ran back to the outlet and froze in surprise. Isaac's counter was surrounded by his fellow male co-workers. They were handing him money and patting his back. I was close enough to hear what they were saying.
"Dude, I can't believe you actually flirted with her!"
"I didn't think you would do it."
I saw Isaac's face grimace and he fake gagged,
"Man that was awful. I can't believe I flirted with her. It wasn't worth the money you guys are giving me."
My chest felt tight and my hands shook slightly. One of his buddies chuckled,
"She is probably so thirsty and desperate she is in love with you now."
Another added,
"But did you guys see that blonde though?"
Everyone nodded and let out low whistles. Something in me snapped. A red haze tinted my vision. I snapped loudly, the sound echoing loudly. The cashiers turned to me and paled. I placed my hands on my hips and sneered,
"I left my wallet here but there are too many assholes in my way for me to get it."
They mutely returned to their counters and I walked forward and grabbed my wallet. I was considering just walking away. But when I turned back and saw Isaac counting his money with greedy eyes the red haze came back. I returned to the counter and Isaac froze in panic. With quick hands I swiped the fanned money out off his hands. After licking my finger, I slowly counted the money.
"$20. Nice haul."
I slowly ripped the stack clean in half, the sound reverberating in the empty store. I snarled and threw it at him and it fluttered to the ground around him, "Too bad I'm worth more than $20."
I stalked away, throwing an "Oops" over my shoulder. Only once I was out of the store did I allow my tears to fall.
