《(Hiccup X reader) The One You Needed》Chapter 23 ~ Confessing

NO POV
In the early morning, it was still dark outside. You were awake and facing the roof from your bed. You couldn't sleep. Your mind felt like it was going as fast as lighting, worries consumed your thoughts, and you weren't feeling that well either.
"(Y/N)? Are you awake?" Hiccup whispered from the other side of the bed.
"Yes. Why are you awake so early?"
"Well I could ask you the same question. I'm awake because of a bad dream..."
"Oh no. What was it about?"
"I- uh- well, you. I had a dream that I lost you, that day on the boat. But instead, I was the one trying to save you. You were a hostage on that boat and I couldn't help you escape in time and... and- I lost you for real... it felt so real"
"Well, I'm here, I'm with you." You slid up next to him under the covers and he wrapped his arms around you.
"I still can't believe how you managed to get me out." He said with proudness and relief in his tone.
"You better believe it- Libelle, Cloud-Jumper and Valka and I make a great team..."
"Shit! Mom! She thinks you're gone, (Y/N)!"
"O no Valka!- what if she's told my family that I'm-"
"Don't worry, she hasn't. I asked her not to-"
"O thank you! Well, we're gonna have to see her today! To tell her that I'm- you know..."
"Alive? Yeah, haha." you both gave a slight chuckle at the absurdity of luck you had that you were both alive. "She'll be so relieved to see you"
You nodded. Everything that happened on the hunter's boats filled your head... including the man you killed.
"What is it, (Y/N)? Tell me." He could tell that you were biting your tongue
"I killed someone on the boat."
Hiccup paused, he didn't know what to say because he didn't know how you felt about it
You continued-
"His corpse laid there... lifeless because of me. His blood all over my sword..."
"(Y/N), I'm so sorry-"
"Don't be. You said it yourself, you've killed to save someone you loved before. Well, that's what I did and I don't regret it, I am a Viking after all.. But it was- it's still difficult for me to... accept what I did, for some reason. I feel like my hands constantly need water poured over them, ugh I was just so angry with those hunters... and what they did to you."
"You're so strong, (Y/N). You're a shield maiden! I know it's hard but believe me, you'll get through this. You're the most capable person I know-"
"Thank you Hiccu-"
As Hiccup was sharing his caring words, a rush of illness bestrewed over you. You felt ill... and could feel hot acid creeping up your throat.
"Baby, what's wrong?-" you could hear Hiccup's censored voice fading away as your face turned pale and morning sickness devoured you.
You quickly got up and ran to the bathroom that was next to the bed and threw up into the toilet. You laid there, with your head on the seat, feeling revolting. You felt much worse than the day you and Fishlegs were hanging out.

"(Y/N)... are you okay?" Hiccups raspy morning voice came from the other side of the wall..
"Y-yes... I just- I'm not feeling so well.." You tried to ease the truth out slowly.
Hiccup came into the bathroom and saw you on the floor, wiping your mouth with tears in your eyes
"(Y/N)! What happened? Is it something you ate?" He sat down beside you and rubbed your back in a circular motion. His comfort promptly made you feel a little better...
"Hiccup... I'm-" before you could spit out the words your stomach betrayed you and you threw up once more. Hiccup stood up and held your hair back gently.
"It's okay, (Y/N).. I'm right here.. let's take you to see Gothi. I'll go get your clothes..."
As Hiccup started walking away, you pulled on his non prosthetic leg, pleading him to stay.
He turned around and looked at you with sensibility. I have to tell him, your mind yelled.
"Don't go Hicc. Listen... we don't need to see Gothi."
His features dropped serious and he crouched down until you were face to face.
"Do you know what's wrong?" He asked in a monotone.
"Yes." You tried lifting yourself, but your legs were wobbling, you felt completely drained. Hiccup helped you to walk over to the bed, where you both sat.
"Tell me what's wrong" he looked at you, a worried and uneasy expression plastered his face.
You took a deep breath in and out and blurted "I'm pregnant."
His face went unreadable. He turned his head and stared at . He was speechless.
"Hicc... Are you okay?" You put your hand on his round shoulder. He avoided looking at you and he gave a slight nod. His reaction reminded you of yours, when Gothi told you; when you were in complete denial.
You started tearing up, not knowing what to do...
"Say something Hiccup, please." You said, trying to sound calm.
"I- I uh- how? When?- When did you find out?" He was still avoiding looking at you for some reason.
"Gothi told me on the fourth day we were apart." You replied.. he nodded again.
"Look at me Hiccup! You're scarring me." You raised your voice. He turned to look at you. His face was white as snow. I've never seen him so shocked.
"I'm three months gone..." you added.
"Three months?! You didn't notice that you were late? (Y/N), why didn't you tell me sooner!?" His eyes filled with distressful tears.
"I- I didn't notice. I don't know how I didn't-"
"You could've at least told me yesterday??" He seemed bewildered... he couldn't believe the news.
"Yesterday was when I finally got you back! I wanted to tell you.. I didn't know how you were gonna react.. *sigh* I know we didn't mean for this to happen, I'm so sorry Hiccup."
"Hey! Don't you dare say sorry. Take that back. This isn't anybody's fault. You didn't know... There's no one to blame, (Y/N)." He paused and looked down with a slight grin on his face. "I don't know how we didn't see this coming. We've been... I mean... for months... like a lot." he had a chuckle somewhere beneath his worried tone.

You gave a weak smile. Hiccup held your hand and squeezed it tightly.
"Don't say sorry. We'll get through this. You're going to be an amazing mother!"
"Hiccup. I- I just got my life back. I don't know how to take care of myself, not to mention a baby... I guess- I thought this could only happened to adults. I'm barely an adult." You closed your eyes, you couldn't look at your lover.
Hiccup looked at you and tilted his head.. he couldn't comprehend how you could feel that insecure. He had so much love and respect for you.
"I know you can do this. You survived all on your own for nearly six years, (Y/N)... you were only thirteen and you knew exactly how to take care of yourself!"
"I had Libelle! I didn't know what I was doing... I was lucky enough for her to take care of me-"
".. you still have Libelle, and now you have me, family, family, all our friends... unconditional amounts of love and support from every direction. The three of us will be more than okay." He stroked strands of your hair out of your face and tucked them neatly behind your ear.
"You're going to be a father..." You looked at Hiccup, wanting his genuine reaction to that comment.
He sighed "I know... Gods... how am I going to be a father?... I'll never be like dad... he was so brave-" his head pointed downwards, disappointed in himself, with a troubled look upon his face.
"No you'll never be like Stoick... you've never done anything the way he did. You both are completely different in every way and you know it. But Hiccup, I know you will be an amazing father. There is no doubt in my heart."
Hiccup stared at you with compassion, appreciating your every word. His emerald green eyes grew big.
"We're gonna be parents!" He said in astonishment.
I put my hands on my mouth, scared beyond all reason and nodded slowly...
"Come here." He said... you both laid together.
"I can't believe you risked your life and the baby's life to save mine..."
"You're the most important thing in the world to me. I didn't want the baby to grow up without knowing you. Without you, I didn't want a life at all. I love you too much."
Tears poured down our faces. You both were scared and relieved at the same time. He placed his hand under your chin and brought your face up to his, where he placed a small kiss on your lips.
"Well... We're not the only one who's expecting..." I said with a great, big smile on my face after I backed away from the kiss.
"Who?" Hiccup looked utterly puzzled by your statement.
"Libelle and Toothless! On third day we were apart, she took me up to the rocky hillsides near the woods. There were three shiny, black eggs there! They're going to have little dragon babies!!" Your voice got high pitched by how excited you felt.
"No way! Toothless? Bud! hahahaa I can't believe this! This is so great!... Ohh this is why they've been away in the woods so often." Hiccup said, beyond happy and thrilled for his dragon.
"Yes exactly! They were checking up on them. They didn't want to leave us behind to inhabit another island, to raise the babies, so they found a close, safe place to store them so they could still see us daily. They're so intelligent-"
Hiccup smiled as you talked in a fast pace. He loved how passionate you were about dragons. You both had the same soul, the same beliefs.
"...And to think this happened to us the same time as them!" Hiccup said and laughed, you joined in.
There was a brief comfortable pause... You studied Hiccup's face and your cheeks flushed red, his cute face turned towards you. As he turned to look at you, Hiccup instantly changed from being his innocent, sweet self into the man you wanted to kiss. The man who took advantage of your innocence and could make you feel things, incredible things... you urged yourself not to bite your lip in frustration of wanting him.
"You're giving me that look, (Y/N)..." he smirked and gave you a side glance.
"Uh what look?" You seemed offended.
He laughed "The look you give when you want something... I can recognise that look by now."
"What?! I don't have a 'look'!" You teased and denied him.
"Yes you do!"
"No I don't! Haha but you do!" You said trying to put the attention back on him, you blushed even more.
"Oh I know do.. I'm just saying that do too! Don't deny it." He tackled you by your torso, you laughed hysterically as you fell onto the bed."Hahahaa Hiccup stop!" You tackled him back, playfully using the combat skills you both had learned over the years when you were apart... you chased each other back and forth until-
He pinned you down by your wrists... you couldn't escape or strike back. His manly strength overpowered yours. You both were out of breath from playing around on the bed. You looked into his eyes and fought a smile by biting your lip.
"See... there's that look again!" He smirked and you both giggled.
"Ugh, you annoy me, Hiccup Haddock" You said provocatively with a sheepish smile.
"Do you admit you have a 'look?'" he said, whilst still pining you down.
"Fine! You're right, I have a 'look'." You forfeited and giggled. You bit your bottom lip with lust.
"...You know... I can't get more pregnant than I already am..." you said with a seductive look in your eyes.
"I'm counting on that..." he smirked as you both fell into a long kiss...
