《Cuore Mio》Chapter Twenty Six - Movie Night

After Dante and I came back....home ? It is my home, isn't it ?
Anyway....after we came, I called Liam, Kim and Alex to invite them over tonight.
Liam said that he was going for a meeting, which for some reason, I don't believe. Kim and Alex said that they would come by later.
Yaaaaaayyyy !!!
Changing into comfortable clothes, I ordered pizza and got all the food ready.
I wore an over-sized gray sweater and black leggings. I let my naturally, wavy brunette hair flow down to my waist.
Dante wore gray sweatpants and a black t-shirt for the night.
Aaannndd.....we're matching.....
Kim reached the house before Dante so I spoke her about the date that I had with Dylan that night.
"He took me to a carnival. We went on rides the entire night and ate junk food."
"Carnival ? Wow.... that guy knows the way to your heart. You love carnivals."
I nodded in approval. "Later that day, when we were on top of the ferris wheel, Dylan tried to kiss me...." My voice trailed off.
"And......Lea ?" Kim asked, wanting to know what happened after that.
"I kinda, just might have, acted like I didn't see him trying to kiss me..." I said, slightly embarrassed.
"Oooh....My dude got rejected...." She said, widening her eyes.
"He's a really nice guy. It's just that I didn't feel the spark between us nor don't I think of anything for him besides a friend. I didn't want too kiss him and give him any false hopes...."
"I see.....what about Dante ?" Kim smirked, walking away.
What about Dante ? I like him, don't I ? I don't think he feels the same. I don't have the guts to tell him, though.
Fast forward to a few hours later; Kim, Alex, Dante and I were on the couch in the living room.

Kim is next to me on my right and Dante is on my left. Alex is next to Kim, on her right.
Kim and Alex were continuously bickering with each other.
"Krispy Kreme doughnuts are the best." Kim told Alex.
"No... Dunkin' Doughnuts are the best." Alex argued back.
"Their doughnuts are so sweet ! What's wrong with you ?" Kim said back.
"That's the whole point of a doughnut, Neonata." Alex sighs.
"The whole point of eating a doughnut is not to get high blood sugar, Chicito..." She huffs.
I don't know if they know, but Alex just called Kim 'baby girl' in Italian and Kim called Alex 'baby boy' in Spanish.
Wow...... the timing.....
"I'll get the snacks." I said, going into the kitchen.
I took all of the packets of chips and pizza boxes from the kitchen, outside to the living room.
I put a little peanut butter and a few baby pickles on my plate. Dipping the pickle in the peanut butter, I took a bite.
I know it might sound like a weird combination, but it tastes so good...
While we were all sprawled across the long couch; watching the movie, Alex saw what I was eating.
"Is that.... are you eating peanut butter and pickles ?" Alex asked in disbelief.
When he said that, Kim and Dante looked at us too.
"Yeah. You want to try ?" I asked, excited.
"What ? No." He said in disgust.
"Your loss." I shrugged.
The three of them stare at me while I take the next two bites. What is wrong with these people ?
"Will y'all stop staring at me and watch the movie ?" I said, annoyed.
"Are you really eating that ?" Dante asked.
"Yeah. It tastes heavenly..." I said, taking another bite.

"You're the spawn of Satan...." Alex said, in a worried voice.
"She's not Satan's spawn; she is Satan herself." Kim spoke up.
Dante and Alex looked at her, confused. So she explained, "I'm not kidding. She takes April's Fools Day, very seriously. This year, she took full advantage of the sleepover we had that night."
Since Alex as well as Dante were interested in what she was about to say, they subconsciously moved a little forward.
"When I had gone to the washroom, I tried to use the bar of soap but Azalea here," she said pointing to me, "thought it would be a great idea to coat it with nail polish so it wouldn't lather...."
Listening to that, I stifled a laugh. Alex and Dante chuckle a little.
"Then, she replaced the air freshener in my house with shrimp scent, which I don't when know how she got."
"Later that day, she said that she felt guilty for pranking me all day and offered to make dinner.
Letting her cook that night was the biggest mistake of my life. She coated a piece of cardboard with egg and flour; making or look like fried chicken."
Oh yeah I did that, didn't I ?
Alex and Dante burst out in laughter and so did I.
"And I left a Krispy Kreme box at her place when I left the next day." I continued, laughing my ass off.
"The box was filled with fruits and vegetables." Kim completed, with a straight face.
I know I'm a little evil sometimes, but I've always loved the day. You can play pranks on people all day and say it's April's fools day...
"I would never want to get on Piccola's bad side..." Alex said, pointing at me.
I felt Dante tense next time me as soon as Alex said that line.
For the next hour, we spoke to each other, and watched the movie from time to time.
"I need to go to the gym..." Kim said, in her drunken state.
"Why in the name of Jesus would you have to go to the gym now ? You're a crazy person..." Alex told Kim, taking a sip of his drink.
Since Kim didn't respond, I butted into their conversation, "She doesn't mean the gym." I clarified. "She means the jim. J-I-M." I spelled it out.
"She gave that name to her bathroom so that she could tell people that she is going to 'The Jim' in the mornings." I quoted the last part with my fingers.
"Weirdo....." Alex mumbled a little loudly.
By 12:00 am, they decided to go home. I told them that they could stay over because out was quite late to go back home. Plus, they were drunk.
Dante offered to drive them home because he didn't drink tonight.
When he had gone to reach them, in the meantime, I cleaned they mess we had made in the living room and had a nice, long shower.
I waited for Dante to came back....home, and once he did, we slept.
Ahh....... finally.... bed sweet bed.....

Sorcery in Boston
The timid daughter of some of the greatest spellcasters ever to have lived has found herself in another world, courtesy of magic gone awry. In Boston, Massachusetts, in the year 1935, she finds some kind souls in a hard era. In the heart of the Great Depression, as war looms around the corner, she seeks to find her place, and must come to terms with both who she is and what she truly desires. Author's Notes: Release Note: I recently realized what the hold up is. My current mental state is not compatible with the planned ending. If I wrote the ending according to what currently feels right, it will be a wretched, cruel ending that feels monstrously unfair and invalidates the work of the various characters... because that's how my life feels at the moment. The planned ending is coming out hollow and awkward, no matter how I write it, and so I've been bashing my head. I will finish it, once I manage to either brute force something decent out, or once my head gets screwed on straight. Audience: This story is not for young children - it contains some profanity, sexual content, violence, gore, and significant adult themes. Most of these are handled delicately enough not to upset teens or adults (hopefully), hence the lack of relevant tags, but it is nonetheless unsuitable for youth. It's fairly slow paced, and focused on the development of very human, very flawed individuals. Length / Completion Estimates: The outline currently involves two books. Book 1 is expected to be done with Chapter 43. It'll probably be completely finished by sometime in March of this year. I expect to move on to the far-more-lighthearted Of Gods and Dungeons (currently in progress / on hiatus). Afterwards, I may decide to redo Book 1, or write Book 2, or actually start sharing the story most dear to me, that I've been working on for several years now. Draft 1: Please be aware that this is first draft material. I do intend to come back to do a second draft after the story is complete. If anyone notices any issues whatsoever with the story, please let me know (pm, etc) so that I can improve the second draft. Writer's Pledge: I've taken the Writer's Pledge, meaning I'm commiting to completing this story. I'm a proud member of WriTE, a group dedicated to finishing stories. It will be done! Behind the Scenes notes: This picture was commissioned from an inked artist by the name of DanP. Up until the time of the protagonist's arrival, history has proceeded as before. Some places and characters have been borrowed from wikipedia entries of interesting figures from the time. I will make note in the chapter comments when such things come up. Naturally, I've taken a great deal of liberty with them. In interest of respecting individuals, I've either attempted to portray them as accurately as possible, or modified them sufficiently enough that they're simply an inspiration, instead of a real portrayal. I've attempted to be as accurate to the era as possible, but I'm not a historian. If you're aware of inaccuracies, please, bring them to my attention so that I can correct them.
