《Cuore Mio》Chapter Fifty One - Parcel

Azalea's POV:
I glanced at the watch on the clock and sighed in relief. Finally, it's lunch time. I got up from my chair, took my phone as well as my purse and then left my office.
From my peripheral vision, I could see two of my bodyguards, Damien and Blaze, following me. I had somehow convinced Dante to let me walk alone with them trailing behind me.
It's just that I didn't want all that extra attention that I would get if there were suited men following me everywhere I went.
Walking to the cafeteria, I ordered a chicken sandwich. A while later, I sat at a table in the corner of the shop and started eating while playing music.
Then I started thinking, if Elijah gave me that necklace it means that he wanted me to have it; if anything happened.
He also said something about finding him with that necklace. What did he mean ? Is he alive and is probably waiting for me to find him ?
I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realize that the lunch break was over until I saw Damien and Blaze walking towards me.
I briskly walked back to my office and sighed in relief when I saw that not many people were back.
The last few hours had been boring. Work, meetings, e-mails, work and more work.
Working here wasn't anything like Marc Technologies. Since I was the Head over there, I didn't have to be that punctual.
In Unique & Co., Liz is my boss and doesn't mix work and friendships; unlike Liam. As much as I despise him, I still wonder if he's alright at times.
Yes, he did betray us but the thing is he was like a brother to me and I can't get over that fact. Suddenly, a knock was heard at the door. Who could that be ? Nobody comes to meet me.

"Come in !"
After I said those words, I saw Jeremy enter. He is one of the members in the IT Department.
"Hello, Azalea." He greets, shifting his glasses that were almost falling off the bridge of his nose.
"Hi Jeremy." I greeted. "Is there something I can help you with ?"
"Um..yeah." Jeremy responded, handing me a small brown colored envelope.
I eyed it suspiciously, "What is that ?"
"I don't know. I found it on my desk when I came back from the washroom a few minutes back.
It has your name on it so I thought to give it to you." He explained. I took it and thanked him. He nodded and left the room.
When he did, I assessed the envelope. It surely did have my name on it. It couldn't be a bomb because it weighed almost nothing. Carefully, I opened the package and peeked into it.
I saw a USB in there. Okaayy then...
I wanted to plug it into my laptop so badly because I was curious to what was in there.
But, I had to think logically. This could contain a virus and I don't want my device to get infected.
I will have to wait until the day is over and then head to the warehouse. They have spare laptops there that haven't been used.
It will be safer to use; rather than risking all the data I have on this laptop.
An hour later of work, Liz came in my office. "Azalea. You can leave early today because there is a function later tonight being hosted.
I'm attending so I'm giving everyone a night off. Goodnight."
"Alright, I'll leave in sometime. Goodnight." I said, content that I could finally leave and be able to see what the USB contained.

After gathering all my papers and belongings, including the USB, I left the office and walked to my car with Damien and Blaze behind me.
I made my way to the warehouse along with my bodyguards in the car.
I have tried to make them talk so many times but all they did was greet, say 'yes' or 'no' or and nod.
Once we reached, I typed in the code on the keypad at the entrance of the warehouse.
The doors opened and I was met with the sight of almost everyone in here, doing their work.
I walked into Dante's office; where Dom and Noah usually are.
Since I was here, as in, I am safe here, the guards stopped following me.
Opening the door to Dante's office, I saw Dom at the desk doing some paperwork and Noah on the couch, eating chips.
"Heeyyy, ya'll !" I shouted, running into the room.
"Aaahhhh ! Satan's here." Noah yelped and fell off the couch.
So dramatic...
"Well, I see you sneaked out of work." Dom said, raising his eyebrows.
"No, I didn't. Liz let us leave early because she had an event to attend tonight." I said, keeping my purse on the coffee table.
Noah got up from the ground and came to hug me.
"Are you alright ?" I asked him, wondering why he did that.
"Just like that." He shrugged.
"Okaaayyy...then. Someone left this USB for me at work today." I said, holding it up.
"I don't know who it is from or what it contains yet. I wanted a spare laptop to plug it into."
"Oh, I'll be right back." Dom said, walking out of the room.
A few minutes later, he came back with a laptop. "I'm here." Placing it on the desk, he said, "You can use this one."
Nodding, I walked over to where he was standing. Noah came too. I sat on the chair and plugged the USB in one of the ports of the laptop.
Suddenly, a page opened. It had a black and green design; exactly like the colors of algorithms and codes used for hacking.
There was only one file in it. I looked at Dom and Noah, as if asking whether I should click on it.
"Go for it." Noah said.
Okay, then, let's see...

New Escape
In a world not that unlike the present exists a fantastic technology to transfer one's consciousness into a game. A new frontier for video games has been opened, and my first experience in this world is an rpg. An escape from monotony and school has led me to experience a brand new world.(I originally lost my motivation for this story and kinda wanted to kill it, but I brought it into this world so I will fix it. I'll probably re-write the first chapters and include a more compelling story. Didn't really write the story for people to read in the first place and after I put it on here I stopped caring, but I am changed!(not too much but just a little))
