"Shhh...baby. Stop crying. Tell me what happened." I asked her carefully.

"Ma...my...mom and da...dad was there." She could not even form a single sentence.

I was patting her back. She was snuggling into my side.

We are alone in her hospital room. When they saw her in that condition and she needed only me by her side so everyone gave us some space.

I told the doctor that I will call him soon.

I gave her time to calm down. I was just hugging her.

It was getting a little uncomfortable for me and her sitting like that.

I had my legs hanging down the bed and she was bending too much. Her stitches could open up so I laid her down on the bed and slipped in her bed.

I put her head on my arm and consciously laid my other hand on her thigh, I couldn't put it anywhere else. Her side was wounded.

We stayed like that for quite some time. She fell asleep after crying for some time.

I couldn't sleep in that situation. She was too close. My body was wide awake because of the nearness.

I was playing with her hairs. Then I heard a knock on the door. I looked backward.

My mom peeked inside from the door. "The doctor wants to check up on her." My mom said.

"Okay, send him in," I said.

I tried to get up. I did that slowly didn't want to wake her up. It will be easier to check up on her when she is still sleeping. She was very scared before.

"Oh! Please stay put. She will wake up if you get up." The doctor entered.

"She is suffering from mental trauma. She trusts only you, so stay with her. Let her sleep. It will not take very long. I just have to check her wound only." The doctor said as he pulled up Anna's shirt.

What the hell is he doing?

I grabbed his hand and jerked it away. I pulled down her shirt. I glared at the doctor.

He puts his hands up. "Kid, I am a doctor. It is my job. And I get it that she is your girl." He shook his head like he couldn't believe I would do something like that.

"Now will you let me look at her wound?" I frowned at the situation. I looked away.

"What a gentleman. Never guessed you will be this sensitive." The doctor chuckled.

"Shut up. Please, doctor, I don't want to cause a problem for you. Just treat her properly and leave." I said as patiently as I could.

"Yeah, yeah. I would do my best for this beautiful girl, not for some brat like you." The doctor said.

Why do I feel that he is provoking me deliberately?

I stayed quiet. I wanted to tell him off when he called my Anna, beautiful but I didn't want to exaggerate this situation.

He was right, he finished checking up her wound within few minutes.

He left after he was done. I again lay down with her peacefully.

After about 2 hours she woke up. I helped her to sit.

"You should not put too much burden on yourself. If you feel uncomfortable then lay down again. Okay?" I said.

She just nodded. I waited for her to speak.

We sat there in total silence. Then she started telling me.

"I saw them. I was in the park where I used to go with my parents. They were there. My mom was crying and my dad had tears in his eyes. I could not stop them from crying. They said they were watching me. They were in pain because of what was happening here." She paused. Tears were flowing from her eyes.

"They...they are proud of me. They said 'seeing me fight for myself makes them assured that they can now..." She choked on her breath. "They said, they can rest in peace now. They were worried to leave me alone but now they are content." She looked at me. She had so many emotions, top of them was love. She could feel their love.

"They believe in me. They believe that I can handle everything, they said I had it in me." She gave me a longing smile.

It felt like forever that I saw her smile. It made me smile too.

"Xavier, I want to ask you something?" She said looking seriously into my eyes.

"Yes, love. What it is?" I asked.

"I believe that I can take care of everything but I want to ask you to take care of me. Will you?" She asked

"It goes without saying,Love. You don't have to ask me this again, ever. I will always take care of you." I replied.

She gave me a tired smile. Then she put her head on my shoulder. I laid down, with her in my arms.

And within a few minutes, she fell asleep. I get off the bed and went out of the room.

Only my mom was sitting outside. I went and sat beside her.

"Why didn't you called me. I would have come and helped you. You should take care of yourself. If you won't take care of yourself then how would you take care of her?" She said.

I chuckled at her clichè dialogue. "Yeah...yeah...I get it. Why are you not going home? Zachary must be alone at home." I said.

"David is with him." Mom said.

"How is he?" I asked.

He is just a kid. He must have been scared after hearing this incident.

"You know your brother loves you so much, he cried for the first time. He wanted to come but finals are very near, so we forced him to stay home." Mom replied.

I nodded. We sat in silence, then something clicked into my mind.

"Mom..." I paused. "What happened to Rose and Rita? Who brought us to the hospital?" I asked.

"You didn't know? It was Anna who called the police. When they reached there you both were already hurt but they caught the girls. The girl, who attacked you both, is now in jail and the other was sent to her other relatives." Mom told me.

"And...and what about the company? Is there any issue in the company?" I asked again.

"As much as I know, there is no issue. The shareholders are waiting for the result after Anna took over the company." She said.

"There is still a little process left before she could take over her company." I said.

Then we both got lost in our thoughts.

I really hope that from now on nothing bad happens to Anna.
