"I think Evan is a lot like me." Kiara told me as I laid down beside her in bed, thinking how I was going to steer this conversation to the topic I badly needed to talk to her about.

"Really? How so?" I asked her, focusing back in on our conversation about Evan and Uncle Killian. She was very excited and happy about the fact that she met them.

"He gets in his head a lot. I think it's hard for him to speak his mind sometimes. But also he blurts stuff out sometimes." She giggled.

"So you like him?" I chuckled.

"Yup. He's also a sweetheart." She laughed. "How are you all such great people?"

"Well, I know one thing.... four great people came together. Isabella, Matteo, Lucie and Devan... and they raised their children well and made them great people. Then there's our generation, our parents all raised us to be just like them.... I think we're all just lucky to have each other and have an amazing family that will always have our back." I explained.

"That's really cute." She smiled.

"Alright... I've got something I have to talk to you about." I said to her.

"What's going on?" She asked me.

"I'm afraid, Kiwi." I said to her.

"Why?" She asked, resting her head against the pillow and looking right into my eyes as I did the same. Both of us were laying on our sides, facing each other and staring into each other's eyes.

"I depend on you, Kiara. More than I think you realize. And... I know that you somewhat depend on me too... It makes me feel good that I can be there for you. But you're getting better, and I'm so damn proud of you. I'm happy for you. It fills me with joy to see you doing so well.... only today was a little different." I said, trying to word everything carefully and not say anything incorrectly.

"Why was today different?" She asked me.

"It was my first time being away from you like that. You went out and I went with you, then, I brought you home and left. Like a considerable distance from you." I said.

"I know." She nodded, stroking my cheek softly with her hand and waiting for more of an explanation.

"And you took it well. But I just didn't realize I was going to come home and find that I didn't only leave you and Ari alone. But I left, and you gathered with lots of people at once. Most of them are people you already know and trust but.... Aunt Em was new." I said. "And on top of that... you asked to meet Uncle Killian and Evan."

"Is that bad?" She asked me.

"No... no it's great, baby. It's amazing." I said, kissing her hand which was still stroking my face.

"So what's wrong?" She asked me.

"I just wasn't expecting all of those new things to be done today and... and it scared me. I felt scared that maybe it was too much for you, but I could see that it wasn't... most of all, I'm just scared that you'll get better one day... like completely better... and you won't need me anymore. At all." I said, looking away from her as her hand paused it's stroking.

Then all of a sudden, Kiara was gently pushing my face, making me look at her again.

"Why would you ever think that, Vivi? I'm your kiwi.... I'll always need you. Always. I'll get better. I'll be as healthy and happy as the happiest, healthiest person. And you will be the main source of that happiness. You'll be the one thing in this world that cares for me and is there for me in a way that allows me to be healthy and happy... No matter what happens, Vivi. I'll always need you." She told me.

"I just... I need you in my life, Kiara. I need you." I said to her, pulling her closer so that our foreheads were touching.

"I need you more." She whispered, planting a soft kiss on my nose.

After that we just stayed in that position, letting the silence around us bring us peace. I even had my eyes closed, feeling Kiara's thumb running up and down my cheek.

When I opened my eyes again, Kiara's were closed. We were laying on the bed which was now up against the wall that was right underneath our window. Kiara's face was perfectly cast in moonlight, making her beauty even more prominent.

"The moonlight is beautiful." I whispered, making her eyes flutter open.

"I thought it would be nice to have more light in here." She told me.

"It is, I love it." I said to her, kissing her palm which still rested against my face.

"You look pretty in the moonlight." She told me.

"I was just thinking the same thing about you." I smiled, brushing long strands of blonde hair away from her angelic face.

"I can't wait for you to start that business." She told me.

"Really?" I asked her.

"Yeah. It'll be a nice exciting thing to start and we'll watch it grow and stuff... and I can take care of the rooms and everything!" She giggled.

"Take care of the rooms?" I asked.

"Yeah. I'll decorate them, make them all pretty." She said softly a big happy smile plastered on her face.

I leaned forward and kissed her forehead. I loved this girl more than anything in the world. There was something so special about her that I'd never be able to pinpoint. No matter how many times she told me that she wasn't perfect, I'd never be convinced. She was the closest thing to perfect that this world had ever seen.

"I like it when you hold me close like this." She whispered ever so softly.

"You do?" I asked.

"Yeah. It's warm and sa....safe." She whispers to me.

"I'll always keep you safe." I told her, scratching her head for her.

"I like it when you scratch my head like that too." She whispered to me.

"I like it too." I told her, kissing her cheek.

"You know I'm scared to lose you too, I don't want to ever live without you." She told me, looking up into my eyes as the moonlight hit her face.

"God, you're so beautiful." I said.

"Stop it." She giggled, turning red.

"Did you have fun today?" I asked her.

"Yeah. It was fun to rearrange the apartment." She smiled.

"It looks amazing." I told her.

"I'm glad you like it." She laughed. "You even like the fluffy pillows, don't you?" She asked me.

"Ok.... maybe they're nice. They're very soft." I smiled, grabbing one from behind me.

Before I could turn back to her, I felt a fluffy pillow smack me in my face and I heard Kiara's soft giggles as she crawled under the blankets and hid under them.

"Did you just smack me with a pillow." I laughed, seeing the lump underneath the covers.

She giggled and crawled towards the foot of the bed where she seemed to want to escape.

"Oh, no you don't." I said, when her head popped out from the bottom of the blankets.

I grabbed her with the covers wrapped around her and I wrapped her up in the blankets in a way I knew she wouldn't escape.

"Did you hit me with a fluffy pillow?" I asked her, unable to wipe my huge smile off my face.

"Maybe...." she laughed.

I started tickling her and kissing all over her face, making her squirm and try to escape.

"Ok, ok!" She laughed.

"Will you hit me with fluffy pillows again?" I asked her.

"No! I promise!" She laughed in between her screeches.

I eventually let her go and then found myself in the midst of a pillow fight with those fluffy pillows she bought.

Apparently this girl was the best at pillow fights. She launched them at me in quick succession and I was basically helpless. Until I got close enough to grab her and fling her back onto the bed, tickling her again until she lost the ability to breathe.

"I saw you guys pick up something from the mall today, like clothes or something." I mentioned, once we'd settled down.

"No. It wasn't clothing." Kiara said to me.

"What was it?" I asked her.

"It was a pit of earrings." Kiara said.

"For who?" I asked in confusion, knowing Kiara didn't have piercings.

"For me." She told me.

I quickly tilted her head and brushed her hair away, looking at her earlobes and finding no holes.

"Relax." She giggled.

"Why did you get earrings if your ears aren't pierced?" I asked her.

"They were pretty and maybe one day I'll pierce my ears." Kiara said.

I hummed in response, not wanting Kiara to pierce her ears in fear that they'd get infected.

"We'll talk about that later." She told me, seeing my uneasy expression.

"I'm tired." I said, collapsing on the bed with a groan.

She flipped me onto my stomach and she climbed onto my butt. I felt her kiss my back before running off. She came back and sat on me again, then her hands met my back but they were a little oily. She started massaging my back.

I groaned in response to some of the kneading she was doing to my back. My muscles relaxed beneath her touch and my body started getting a little too excited.

Eventually she collapsed beside me and she kissed my nose while I hugged one of those fluffy pillows.

"They're comfy, huh?" She asked with a giggle.

I nodded my head, peaking at her moonlit face and taking her hand in mine.

She cuddled into my side and she let me throw an arm over her. She was so small, fitting in my arms perfectly. I couldn't wait until I could kiss her. That would be a dream come true.
