It's been almost two weeks since the court hearing and Phoebe is finally getting back to normal...
After that, she had many, and I mean, many people calling, texting and even emailing her. Her mother refuses to talk to her, and her Dad has threatened to come over here and drag her back to Australia. Her sisters wouldn't stop calling. Almost thirty times a day.
Mia, her boss, wants her to come back to work... I bet the publicity would be great for her.
But Phoebe refused to talk to anyone. Including me for the first three days. She even locked herself in the room the first day. Until I said fuck it, and I took off the door. She needed to be watched, and I wanted to make sure she didn't harm herself.
I told my boss I needed vacation time and with protest, he agreed. He said we didn't need a bunch of camera crews posted outside the hospital.
Phoebe started to talk to me on day four. Small talk at first. Mostly just one word, but by day five, she began to have actual conversations with me. She even asked if I looked at her differently. Which is insane... I love her more than anything in this world. Nothing could change that.
On day seven, she started being her old self. Watching classic movies and eating regularly. We as a couple actually started to get back to where we were before the court hearing. Phoebe doesn't flinch anymore around me, and she is much bolder now.
"Baby, you hungry?" Phoebe pulls me out of my thoughts. I nod my head, watching her flaunt around in a silk nightgown. "Well, I hope you're hungry, cause I made a big breakfast." She chuckles, handing me a full plate.
"Thank you." I kiss her on the lips, tasting strawberry jam. We sit on the couch, watching the news, and they have finally stopped talking about Phoebe's case. Now and then, they bring it up, but only if they see Phoebe or her family. They have interviewed her parents, but they keep saying they are working on getting a one on one meeting with Phoebe, which will never happen. She has made it very clear; she will not speak about it again.

Phoebe turns off the news and puts on a radio. She takes our empty dishes and places them on the coffee table. Phoebe climbs on top of me and whispers in my ear.
"I want to fuck you," Phoebe whispers, biting my earlobe. I moan slightly, kissing her neck and nibbling on it. Again, she has gotten very bold.
She pulls up her dress, exposing her naked self. Immediately, she rubs herself on my hard cock. I grip onto his waist, kissing her lips as she pulls it out of my sweats and sits on me.
We are almost finished having sex when my phone goes off.
"Ignore it." Phoebe breathes, as I continue to thrust in and out of her. We both climax, and I fall on top of her body. She was breathing heavy. Somehow we ended up on the floor, and we are interrupted again by my phone.
"Sorry." I sigh, reaching up to grab my phone on the coffee table.
"McGuire. We are short on staff we need you here today. Get your ass here now!" My chief yells at me, hanging up the phone.
"I have to go." I kiss her on her lips, looking at her beautiful naked body on the hardwood floor. I stand up, helping her to her feet as well. I hurry to get changed, brushing my teeth and fixing my sex hair.
I walk into the living room, and Phoebe is dressed back in her silk dress. Her nipples are still hard poking through the clothing.
"Keep looking like that, and I won't have a job." I grab her from behind, kissing her ear. She laughs, taking a sip of water.
"Go to work." Phoebe pulls herself away, facing me.
"I love you," I say, stepping towards her. I grab her hand, kissing it. Then put our hands on her face. I kiss her lips, gently at first then with a little force.
"I love you too." She says, moving away from the kiss. I look at her for a few seconds, and as if she knew what I was thinking, she kisses me again and says, "I'm okay, now."
"Okay." I smile, grabbing my stuff by the front door. I look at her, her hair post sex as well as her sweaty chest, and leave the apartment.

When I get to work, the number of car accidents is ridiculous... It's not that hard to drive in the snow... I go into immediate surgery, fixing some man leg that got crushed in a five-car pileup and he is the one who got it the worst out of all the drivers.
After surgery, I am in desperate need of coffee. I head to the doctor's lounge, grab a cup of freshly made coffee and instantly regret my decision.
"It's the worst, but it will keep you alert." I look up, and it's Leah. I internally groan as she grabs herself a cup. I sit down, looking at the television and Leah sits across from me.
"What do you think of Doctors Without Borders?" She randomly asks me to look at her, and she points at the flyer on the wall. I shrug my shoulders, unsure why she is asking me about this. "You were in the military for over fifteen years helping people. Imagine being able to do that again for people in need. You can go from city to city in the middle east and just help." I look at her, then back at the poster.
"I'm thinking about doing it. Getaway from this hospital. Get away from doing the same thing over and over again." Leah sighs, finishing off her coffee.
I stand up, toss away the plastic cup and stare at the poster. No matter how badly I would want to do this, I couldn't leave Phoebe.
When things are just getting good, I can't just leave...
I let out a frustrated sigh, leaving the breakroom and head into the emergency room. Patient after patient, I am ready just to go home. I love my job. I love being able to fix wrong things, make people smile and be in a little less pain.
I can leave early, thanks to another Doctor coming in. He was on vacation too, and he said that he was getting too bored at home.
When I arrive home, it is snowing, and I can't wait to fall asleep beside Phoebe. When I enter the apartment, it's silent—signalling to me that Phoebe is already asleep.
So I quietly put my stuff down by the front door and make my way into our room. Phoebe is asleep curled into a tight ball, and I take off my clothes, crawling in beside her.
When she feels that I am next to her, she rolls over, snuggling against me. She stirs awake slightly giving me a soft kiss on the lips.
"I love you," Phoebe mumbles, making me pull her closer to me. I kiss her on the nose, watching her as she falls back asleep.
"I love you too," I whisper, and watch as she gives me a small smile.
I thought I would fall asleep the second I laid down with her, but instead, I ended up lying awake. I am either staring at the ceiling or staring at her.
Why am I so restless?
My mind floats back to Doctors Without Borders... I look over at Phoebe, moving the hair away from her face and stare at her for a bit longer.
She is the love of my life. I can't see myself with anyone else. I want to have kids with her one day... I see myself marrying her and making a family. I see us sitting outside our home, watching our kids play in the yard. She will be the best Mom to our kids.
I stop myself, crazy to think of someone having kids with me. When I was younger, my Mom told me always to wear protection and be careful of who I sleep with. When I got into the military, travelling all the time, all the women I slept with were one night stands. After my ex, Emilia, I couldn't see myself loving another woman...
Until Phoebe.
I kiss her on her nose falling asleep thinking about how no matter what- Phoebe will be okay, now.

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
