《Strictly Professional ✔️》Chapter 30

I was making my way back to Issac's room to ask Derick for his car keys, because all I'm asking for is some peace and quiet, which is difficult considering I'm hanging out with two idiotic bozos.
I can already hear Derick say 'Don't shove me into the same category as him!'
I tried to hold in the laugh since that is most likely going to happen.
I reached the elevator and the doors opened on their own, to my amazement Derick rushed out and grabbed me by the shoulders looking frantic and panting.
"Julie, are you okay?!"
"I can ask the same, but I'm not so could you mind giving me the car keys?"
"How about we eat first?"
"I'm not hungry, can you just give me the keys?"
What in the world is wrong with him?
"Can you stop being so stubborn? If I'm hungry then so are you"
"What kind analogy is that?" I asked scrunching up my face.
That sounds so wrong!
"Have you looked in the mirror? You look paler than normal and your random dizziness is from low blood pressure!"
I furrowed my brows in confusion but when I saw the look of concern on his face I knew it wasn't the time to be difficult.
"Look, if I eat will you feel better?"
"Immensely"
"Aren't you being brutally honest" I chuckled.
"Then Mr. Worry, let's go eat something, give me the car keys" I continued remembering our poor untouched lunch.
"Still planning to run away I see" he raised a brow tauntingly.
"I would never!" I gasped in shock.
"Then what are you planning to do Ms. Sarcasm?"
"I was planning on getting my delicious home cooked lunch up to Mr. Annoying back in his room" I said playing along.
"You're still going to let Issac taste that lunch?"
"I mean if you want to gain some extra pounds, be my guest, we'll keep it a secret that you're actually a glutton" I smirked.
He rolled his eyes and gave me the keys.
"Go ahead, or would you like me to accompany you?"
"No thanks I'm good, I'd rather you go keep an eye on Issac, just in case the hospital room won't be open for visitors anymore, if you get what I mean"
"Yeah I totally get what you mean, now that I think about it, that nurse was pretty hot..."
I raised a brow.
"What?" He furrowed his brows trying not to laugh.
"Nothing But now I understand why you two are friends"
I took the keys to the car out of his hands I and went outside.
I pressed the unlock button to spot the car but when I noticed that he had parked so far away I groaned.

"I actually might faint from this heat!" I said to myself earning a weird glance from a passerby.
I cleared my throat in awkwardness and decided to just keep my mouth shut for the rest of the way.
As I neared the car I saw that the lights in the car were on and I immediately panicked running towards it.
I quickly hopped into the drivers seat and inserted the keys into the engine, when I couldn't turn it on, my first thought was;
WE ARE SCREWED!
If the engine can't turn on that means the car is out of batteries, if we don't have batteries we can't go anywhere, if we can't go anywhere then I can't go back to the comfort of my own bed and if I can't go to bed...
I don't even dare to say it!
Oh I'm going to be a VERY angry monster...
Derick you idiot, next time you decide to park the car break your your legs in the process so maybe you can see that the freaking lights were on!
I'm sorry, I went too far.
I sighed in annoyance and hoped this guy had a plan for the mistake he made.
I grabbed our lunch from the back seat and made the trek back to the hospital.
I grumpily made my way to Issac's room, mentally blaming him for not only ruining my date but also making me stay in the middle of nowhere.
"Hello Ms. Sarcasm, I'm surprised you didn't run away and leave us behind" I was greeted by Derick when I opened the door.
"Finally the food is here! Why were you so slow!" Issac shouted.
"Honestly I would have left you behind but guess what? neither one of us is leaving" I ignored Issac and looked at Derick, more like glared.
"Hey don't ignore me! If the two of you are going to talk at least let me eat a bit!" He said taking the lunch pack out of my hands.
"Okay be serious for a second, what do you mean none of us are leaving?"
"It means some genius left the car lights on so we don't have any means of transportation and I doubt we'll find a cab anywhere near here"
"Wait so we're stuck here?" Someone asked peeping their head out from the packed lunch.
"Look who decided to tune into the conversation, yes we're stuck here... thanks to you!"
Issac please forgive me for a second, I'm hungry, angry and tired, so we have basically let the devil out of her cage.
"Hey I didn't asked to fall into a ditch!"
"Actually Julie, if you were trying to hint that that genius was me, you have a very bad memory, who was the one that said they forgot their purse back in the car?"

And like a brick it hit me hard...
Embarrassment.
I was knocked out of my thoughts by some idiot laughing at my misery.
Can you guess who?
"Issac shut up!" Both me and Derick spit out of already pent up anger.
"It's a small town, someone's bound to own a car" Derick sighed looking for the positive way out.
"But look on the bright side, it wasn't my fault, am I right?!" Issac smiled joyfully.
"The moment you showed up at my door, I knew something bad was going to happen! It's like you're the epitome of bad luck! So it is your fault!" Derick yelled.
"Well I'm sorry for trying to help you!"
He didn't answer.
"Derick what does he mean by help?"
"Nothing! he doesn't mean anything by that why don't we stop talking and have lunch to clear our minds, what do you say?"
Something smells fishy...
I clapped my hands startling both men and walked over to Issac pulling the lunch packet out of his hands and taking out four mini wheels.
I grabbed two tissues and wrapped them around the wheels, walking out of the room.
"Hey! Julie! Where are you going?!"
"Going to see if there are any sodas in the vending machine and getting away from you two!"
"Wait I'm coming too!"
"Did you not hear the part of me getting away from you!"
I heard his deep chuckle and I smiled makings my way away from him.
When I got to the farthest vending machines from Issac's room I saw that there were only sugar free juices.
I Sighed and just went ahead for a sugar free apple juice.
That's fine...
I sat on one of the nearby benches and held my lunch but stopped right in front of my mouth.
I can't eat with the smell of disinfectant everywhere, too much nostalgia going on, and not the good kind.
I thought I could ignore it at first, but I guess it finally got to me.
And I said I'll never visit a hospital again, I chuckled bitterly at that thought.
Even as an adult I'd always go to small clinics or just normal pharmacies.
Hospitals were always a different subject.
"Hey, how about we eat outside?"
A voice knocked me out of my thoughts.
I recognized that voice perfectly.
"No I'm fine" my voice cracked.
"I don't think you're fine, because if you were, you wouldn't be on the verge of tears, come on"
He held out his hand and I took it, he grabbed my lunch and replaced it with a napkin.
I was dragged out of the hospital and instead of sitting on a cold in closed metal bench, he sat me down on a wooden bench overlooking the hospital car park.
"What a romantic area" I said sarcastically.
"Did you prefer the hospital? Because if you did we can always go back"
"How did you know I felt uncomfortable?"
"I brought you here to see you smile and after seeing your genuine smile, I know when you're faking it, you came here to fall for me, I'm not letting this opportunity go just because some bad luck, I'll find a way to make you feel better"
There it is again...
That sparkle that surrounds him when he acts like that.
"Thank you"
"Julie, I just got an idea"
"And that is?"
"How about I tell you after lunch, rest assured because I've just found a way out"
After we were done with lunch Derick asked for my phone.
"What're you doing exactly?"
"Calling someone that lives in LA"
"Wait do you mean my-"
"Yup your brother"
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Well then, this is just great! What a waste of time!"
"Ricky calm down I'm sure there's another solution"
"My plan was supposed to be full proof! He was supposed to come here and take us back! Couldn't that be simple enough! Even Julie would've been happy to see her brother!"
I can't tell if he's being cute or irrational...
"Hey, hey, it's fine, my brother did apologize didn't he? It's not his fault he's gone on a business trip is it? You know that better than anyone"
"But..."
"Look there's a hotel nearby, let's take the car to a mechanic and stay the night until the car is fixed"
"See Ricky all you need to do is date your trusty assistant and everything will work out!"
I was suddenly pulled by the hand and was engulfed in a hug by Issac.
"Issac? What's this?" I asked bored of his shenanigans already.
"I'm feeling affectionate"
"Call your nurse then!"
I was again pulled but this time I hit a hard chest, one I have hit more than a few times.
"Derick?"
"Issac I'd like you to stop this game that you're playing if I'm going to get this girl, I'm going to get her with my own powers, claiming her by force from my jealousy is not on option"
Wow he's so cute...
I looked at Derick with a smirk on my lips, I leaned in and kissed him on the neck, leaving him stunned enough for me to get out of his arms.
"Claiming me is not even an option boys, you'll have to try harder than just being cute Derick, I like to tease"
Smirking I walked out of the room.
