I sat on the bed in my room gluing on the last sparkle on the handmade hair pin I had made for mom. I made it simple with delicate sparkles here and there and added one red gem to really make her hairstyle stand out when she puts it on.

I blew on it to make it stick-on faster and put it aside on the nightstand for it to dry. Momo cuddled herself in my lap while her tail was tickling me under the chin.

I took her in my hands smooching her face and her cute little paws and her face again. Eventually she looked for escape far away from me.

I focused on my bed again, looking for the box I was going to put the hair pin in and wrap it. I already had a present picked out for everyone but the packing had to be done flawlessly. They were all hidden meticulously in my room just in case someone snuck into to take a peek. One year I caught Rehan trying to find his present and ever since then I had a full on break proof system.

I got up and headed to my table to take a sip from my cake like cappuccino. I licked the top of the cream over the mug. Mmmmm it was so delicious. I opened the door to my room yelling.

"Can someone bring me some cinnamon and ginger cookies! Thank you!"

I walked back to the bed taking my already finished and wrapped present for Elric. It was wrapped in a small rectangular shaped box, with a white and blue splatter pattern. I just couldn't help myself. I needed to give him a present even if it was a small one.

I hid it somewhere safe and hoped I would find the right time to give it to him.

Kai walked in my room carrying a plate of cookies.

"Thank you." I said taking one from the plate. "These are so good."

Kai took one as well and left the plate on my desk. " You're right these are amazing." He stuffed another one in his mouth.

I sat back down on the bed and took out my notebook to scratch out the stuff I have completed today.

I looked up and Kai was still in the room. He closed the door behind him and joined me on the bed.

I instantly closed the notebook that had the present lined up.

"Yes?" I asked with my eyebrow raised.

"Should we get Lucy a present?" He asked.

"What?" My voice pitched up so high. "Why would you ask me that?"

He made a face. "I'm just asking since we're buying presents, if we should all chip in and buy something for him, I would like to know. I mean you looked like you were getting along and.."

"Yes. I think that's a good idea." I smiled. "Is Fin coming? Should we get him a present?"

Kai nodded. "Yeah. " He cleared his throat and made a pause. "Is Remi coming?"

I shook my head. "I think she won't make it to the party because her parents are doing one for her family. But she will come in the morning so we can give her a present then."

Kai sat there awkwardly. I was going to change the subject when suddenly my phone rang and it was Remi. Carefulnot to let Kai see my pink jailbroken phone, I picked up. "Hi Remi.".

"Is she coming? Did she change her mind?" Kai whispered.

"What?" I shushed him and tried to focus on what Remi was saying to me on the phone. "Where did you say you are? You're in front of my house?! Girl why?"

She hung up and a few seconds later I heard mom welcoming Remi in. Kai had heard them as well. He got off the bed in full panic mode.

"I can't escape! Where do I go?" He reached for the window handle, ready to jump in the snow but I reacted quickly and dragged him back.

This crazy person...

"Just casually say hi to her and walk by her." I tried to knock some sense into him.

Damn it Kai. Get it together.

"Just walk by her." He took a deep breath to calm down.

"Yes." I tapped his shoulders. "You can do this."

The moment I blinked, he jumped over my bed and ran to the bathroom closing the door behind him. Remi entered my room.

I turned around pretending nothing happened. "Oh hi."

"Hey." She hugged me and sat down on the bed.

I was still in haze from what just happened, but I figured I'd deal with that crazy person hiding later.

I sat back down on the bed. "You could have called ahead girl. What if I was in the middle of packing your present?"

She waved her hands. "It's important. You know what I'm like. I have something on my mind and one day I wake up and have to do it or say it. In this case say it! Well today is the day."

OH MY GOD.

"No. Remi wow! Um.." I panicked. "Yes I know what you're like but can this revelation wait?"

If this is about Kai they will both kill me.

"I have to say it. Give me a moment." She was getting ready.

"This is really not a good time." I smiled. "Like really not a good time. Or place."

Remi closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Francy you don't understand. I've been lying to you , hiding things from you. I have to say it."

"You don't have to. We all have secrets right?" Oh god. Oh god.How do I stop this? "Do you want a cookie?"

I rose up to get the plate but she pulled me back down.

"I like Kai."

I stood completely frozen and seconds later a tiny fake uncertain voice escaped my lips. "Whaa?"

She never broke eye contact. "I like Kai. Like a crush. Like a guy. I'm into him." She was trying to break down to me what I already knew.

But now that she said it and I knew who heard it I was so shocked I didn't know what to do.

"Francy say something please." She pleaded.

"I'm shocked." I laughed.. Shocked you found to tell me now of all days. " But I'm happy for you. I support it"

"You do? You don't hate me?"

"No." I waved my hands to stop her from jumping to conclusions. "Okay now that we are on this topic. When did this happen exactly? How long have you liked him for?Wait no.. Answer this first. How did you start liking him? He barely talks to you."

She pressed her lips and then smiled shyly. "I don't know."

"You don't know?"

She fell down on the bed on her back. "I don't. One day I woke up and I just liked him. I mean I always liked all your brothers in a friendly way and they're nice to me but two months ago something changed."

"Oh." I dropped down next to her. "How so?"

"I think it was that night." She was thinking about something.

"What night?" I was confused.

"Remember that time you went to find Ace when his girlfriend approached us. You called Kai and you guys took my car. Well later on Ace and Kai brought it back to my house and Ace did most of the talking, he apologized it took them that late and Kai stood in the back. But while this was happening I could swear to you that Kai was looking at me. You know..giving me a look..when a boy likes a girl..they give her that look... and from that moment on something changed."

She leaned on her elbow to face me. "I'm crazy. I know I must have imagined that since he avoids me and doesn't talk to me at all and I see him talk normally with other girls at school. Maybe I got the wrong idea and now he knows and tried to avoid me because of it."

I rolled my eyes. As if. "Oh god. I can promise you that he doesn't think that. I can for certain tell you he doesn't know you like him."

Well..until now he didn't.

I smiled. " So you started thinking he likes you and that made you like him?"

She bit her lower lip. "Kind of. I mean that was the moment when he was no longer your brother but a really hot guy that could actually have feelings for me."

"I think Kai will be happy to hear you're classifying him as hot." I shook my head. I can't believe this is happening.

"He is really hot. And his smile is so.. and his height is just.. OH MY GOD..Is this weirding you out?" She panicked.

I rose up and dragged her to get up as well.

"Girl no. Listen to me. How about you give me some time and I will find out if Kai has anyone he likes. You never know. He might like you too."

Remi snorted. "I think I would have known."

I bit my tongue not to say something unnecessary.. "You said you noticed something. Let me look into it. In the meantime.. go home before you see your present."

I lied but she didn't have to know.

She tried to look around for it and I pushed her out of the room handing her a cookie. "I'll support you in this, but go home now. I don't want you to ruin my surprise."

She smiled coyly. "Okay then. I'll go. But you're not mad about this right? It's not why you're kicking me out?"

I shook my head and whispered this last part. "I love you girl. There couldn't be a better girl for my brother. I will call you later and you can dish about this as much as you want. We can talk for hours. But now you must go."

She nodded and left as quick as she could. After I sent her out, I got back to my room. I walked towards the bathroom and opened the door.

It didn't surprise me that Kai hadn't left the bathroom at all. He was laying on the cold floor completely out of it.

"So..now you know." I said, hoping to get a reaction out of him. I nudged him with my foot but he laid there cold on the floor.

"And you thought she would reject you." I snickered.

Suddenly he grinned and covered his face while trying to contain his happiness.

"She likes me." He rolled left and right covering his face. His ears were bright red.

It was kind of cute.

I smiled and kneeled down to help him get up. He wouldn't put his hands down. They were glued to his face covering the proudest happiest smile he could ever make.

"Do you need a minute? Maybe some diazepam." I asked jokingly but suddenly he hugged me and pulled me on the floor with him.

"You're the best sister ever."

"I didn't do anything." I hugged him, patting his back. "She likes you."

But he just hugged me there and eventually pulled himself together smacking his cheeks to revert back to normal.

"I can't waste time now. I need to come up with a plan to ask her out."

"You better. None of us can't wait anymore." I said, very late in realizing what just slipped out.

"Us?" He said, confused.

"Pierre, Momo and Dorian. We witnessed everything." Oh I was good. That was a nice save.

He laughed at that and got up, unsuspicious of anything. Good. Good.

He dusted off his clothes and helped me get up. We walked back in my room and he headed straight towards the door. Suddenly he turned around.

"Love is great isn't it." And he left.

For some reason it seemed like it had another meaning but I didn't think much of it. We finally got that out of the way.
