《The fashion consultant | Sherlock Holmes x Reader|》|Chapter 12: Quite Infatuated|

I let out a long sigh. Another boring morning taking note of the time I'd need to be ready in an hour to get the tailor in time. My long shirt was mostly unbuttoned but ignoring that while slipping on my silk rope I went to turn on the kettle. Only to smell something nice in the kitchen. Confused my footsteps went into a light tread trying to conceal my presence only to find Sherlock at the stove cooking something.
"Good morning my dear. Are you well this morning?" He glanced in my direction eyeing both my face and chest the was almost slipping out. Quickly moving to tie the robe around me he smiled.
"What are you doing here?" I breathed seeing a lot of tea waiting for me to pour it.
"The inspector is on his way to show me a new case. It seems I got both sides of the coin from that bet you made." I frowned at the tea pouring in some milk while he talked. "So I can't make lunch today. I thought breakfast would work yes?" Silently I nodded stirring my spoon around the cup to mix in the milk and sugar.
"Eggs and french toast." The food looked great, I tilted my head up to spy his face.
"I didn't know you could cook." Sherlock smiled seeing the invitation and kissed me lightly before moving to his side of the table.
"And k didn't know you were a morning person." The reason why he spoke this was evident. I let him kiss me.....why did I let him do that?
"I'm not just used to waking up early I guess." We'd started eating, so nothing much was said for five or so minutes. "The case, do you know anything about it?"

"Only that it was important enough for him to come to my door to talk about it." Humming to his response I finished my tea before standing.
"I need to change. Let me know when you're leaving." I began to walk off when he said.
"So you can give me a kiss goodbye or maybe a kiss of good luck?" Turning slightly to look back both his hands were folded and resting under his chin.
"Didn't think you needed or believed in luck Mr Holmes." Sherlock smiled at that.
"Quite right Miss (l/n)." Taking my leave of the room I started changing into my outfit, my client was a woman, has a night out planned with her husband and another important couple. Of course, she's not the target on interest but is important to make both sides of the coin shine. "I'm leaving," Sherlock spoke while opening the door. I gasped covering my chest with the sweater I'd yet to put on.
"What happened to knocking!" I shouted and Sherlock crossed his arms.
"The door was ajar so I didn't think it necessary." Huffing I turned so my back faced him while slipping on the sweater. Sherlock cleared his throat still standing by the door. Going to shoo him off Sherlock smirked down at me.
"Off you go. If you're still looking for that kiss I never said I was going to." Pulling him out of my room and to the set of stairs Sherlock hiked up and with some effort, I managed to get him to the door.
"I never mentioned the kiss. Perhaps you're thinking of it more than me." Raising an eyebrow and crossing my arms he chuckled. "Perhaps not, but I may not see you for a few days...." He's trying to get me to break.

"Goodbye Holmes, enjoy the case." Shutting the door I heard a defeated sigh before the inspector's voice rang in my ears. Crap I need to get ready. Jogging back down I brushed my teeth and applied my makeup followed by spilling on my coat and tossing my bag over my arm.
'Miss (y/n) Annabel has sent a car to your apartment, it'll arrive shortly.' Is was her PA, thanking her I trotted up the stairs being greeted by happy footsteps coming from upstairs.
"Have a good case do you?" I asked wrapping my scarf around my exposed neck.
"A very interesting one. double murder" He was almost shaking with excitement, to my surprise he cupped my face pecking my lips before I could say anything. John and the inspector were there to witness it also.
"My god what the hell was that."
"Enjoy the case," I spoke quickly leaving the situation seeing the car Annabel sent.
.....
I got home noticing neither of the boys was here. Their coats weren't on the hooks. Annabell was very much an annoyance. She paid good but in effect, I'd lost ten IQ points.
"(Y/n) you're back. Glad to see someone here at a reasonable time." Gazing to my watch it was just past 11 at night. Not reasonable in my opinion. Most of the last four hours was me getting Jess out of a bar we had dinner in, she loves a good cocktail.
"Bedtime for you I suppose?" She nodded yawning.
"I don't know why I worry so much for those boys." I laughed a little opening my apartment door. The lights were on......Sherlock? But no it was Mycroft.
"A simple call would have been nice." I breathed walking past him to place down my coat.
"I don't have your number." He replied which I rolled my eyes at.
"I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to get, you have my busyness card after all." He hummed with a smile on his face. He had an umbrella although it hadn't been raining. A prepared man isn't he.
"I'm here to talk about Sherlock."
"I don't know why else you'd be here. Unless you need me to dress you for something."
"No, he's become quite infatuated with you. Talks about you with John often and even myself which is alarming, to say the least."
"Mmm, I'm sure. Is there anything else you wanted to say or can I go to bed in peace?"
"You don't believe me? I wouldn't lie?"
"Isn't that what a man would say if lying?" His head shook slightly annoyed by my responses.
"Or someone telling the truth. Now, Sherlock has never been interested in any woman, I'm surprised it's you of all people and yet here I am." I tried not to take offence to that. Mycroft stopped himself from speaking and switched the hand that held the umbrella. "Sherlock is not lying for the sentiment he has for you. I'm worried he'll go bonkers if you keep rejecting his actions." Sighing I crossed my arms.
"You about done?" My arm gestured for him to leave.
"I beg your pardon, I've stopped your suspicions for his behaviour I know you'll date him if you found it not true."
"I am a woman Mycroft. No man can predict the actions of me. See yourself out."
