I fired my gun quickly with no hesitation as Blake hit the ground. Anger and hatred flew through my body. She looked afraid. I can't believe we missed one of the guys. I can't believe I let this happen. It feels like the situation with my brother all over again.

Jared fell on the ground screaming in pain. I shot him in the arm. "Grab him, he's coming with us." There was no way in hell he was going to take the easy way out after what he just did.

My only focus was on Blake. I made her this way, so it was my responsibility to fix it.

"Fuck." I bit my tongue as I ran over to her body. "What the fuck did he do to you."

I noticed the needle sticking from her stomach. "Get the car." I yelled. I couldn't think straight. Why the fuck would he do that. What was the motive.

"Kill the others, I just want him." I turned my anger toward Jared laying on the ground gripping his wound.

I picked her unconscious body up running out of the building. The only place I could think to bring her was my empire. We had doctors, plenty of rooms, privacy and the best protection. Luis wouldn't get a chance to lay a finger on her.

"Is she okay. Oh my god, Blake." Rae said running up to me. "What happened to her. I heard gun shots, was she shot?"

"No." I looked around cautiously for my car. "She's going to be staying with me. She's not safe here."

She nodded without question which I liked. "I need to make sure she's okay though, I can't just-."

"No." I cut her off. I couldn't trust anybody but my men. I knew this girl was Blake's friend, but I don't know her. So therefore, I can't trust her.

"She's my best friend. I deserve to be with her and make sure she's okay. I'm her only family!" She yelled at me.

I didn't like the fact she was yelling in my face. I wanted to put her in her place and make sure she never did it again. But I wasn't in the mood right now, I didn't have time to argue. "Look, I don't have time for this. One of my men will keep you updated." I walked past her as Colton pulled up with my car.

I placed Blake in the back seat as I got in beside her. "Go to my empire." I looked at her chest to see it still rising.

"You sure boss? You haven't been there in a while." Colton said looking at me through the mirror.

I nodded. My empire. I mean I shouldn't say 'my' because I'm never there. I have my own place on the other side of town. My empire was where half my men and women lived with their families. I liked keeping my people close. It's over 4,000 acres of land and highly guarded. It's where my parents and sister stay too.

I just have my moments of how overwhelming it is to lead so many people. So, I got my own place across town. Only a couple of people know about it. With how huge my empire is nobody knows where I am half the time.

I placed my eyes on her as I felt guilty. I haven't felt guilt since my brother's death. The feeling made me uncomfortable. Fuck.

After almost an hour drive, we arrived.

I touched her neck searching for a pulse. She's still breathing.

"Are the doctors ready?" I asked Colton while grabbing her out the car.

"Yes, they are. Same spot they always are, first floor."

I shot him a glance. I didn't know if he was trying to be funny or test my memory since I haven't been here in a while.

I was glad it was the middle of the night, so most people weren't outside. Only my guards, and they knew to keep their mouths shut. So, them seeing me carry an unconscious woman around shouldn't be a problem.

"Is this her?" Doctor Krue said as she started checking Blake out.

I nodded, crossing my arms. "Will she be, okay?" I couldn't believe what I was asking. I wasn't the kind of person to openly care about someone.

She looked me up and down, then focused her attention back on Blake. "I never thought you'd be the one to care about someone." She paused. "What happened to her? Do you want her to forget about y'all meeting? Did you do this to her?"

I bit my cheek at her assumption. I was an evil person, but not that evil-, well.

But I didn't have time for any of this. Dr. Krue was one of the best doctors in my empire. She always worked on my people if they were injured, and she was good at keeping her mouth shut about it. She never really questioned me like this before, but I was going to let it slide.

Now that I know Blake is in the best hands possible, it was time to question the bastard who made her this way. "Give me updates on her condition and if she wakes up." I said leaving the room.

Mike and Colton were outside waiting for me.

"Shit man." Colton shook his head. "Who knew he had a daughter; he hid that shit well."

I realized I never told Colton or Mike the news Geraldo told me about her. It just never crossed my mind to. After explaining to them about her and Luis relationship, we started walking toward my office.

"Damn. I know her life had to be shitty." Colton said.

"No kidding." I bit my tongue.

"So, what's our next move?" Mike asked.

I was surprised nobody in the main house was woken up yet by all the commotion. We walked into my office to talk about our next moves. I honestly didn't have an answer to that. The only thing that was in my mind was a War. I wanted to attack back. He sent men to attack me, so I was going to repay the favor.

"We'll return the favor." I responded. My office was cold. Nothing was moved from where I left it and I was pleased to see that.

Luis knew what he was doing. He knew I was at the club. It was public that I was the new owner. He must've thought I was trying to take his daughter and marry her. It confused me on how he knew where she worked. I'm sure he searched her. It would be nice to take everything he has away from him.

"You think Jared was serious on people trying to take her? Shouldn't we just give her over." Mike raised a brow. "Just to get past this so we can think of a bigger plan?"

Give her over? I wouldn't dare. Even though I just met this girl. I wanted her. She was fearless and didn't hold back if she had something to say. But I couldn't show them my true intentions. I wasn't going to give them a weakness to tease me about. "Do you see how much leverage we have right now?"

"I agree with boss. If he marries her, we could have half of Luis's empire and easily take him down." Colton added nodding his head.

Okay I didn't think of all that.

Mike nodded in agreement. "I didn't think of it that way. Should we get the paperwork set up boss?"

My body lightly jerked from their words. Marriage? I know I was the one who created this topic of conversation, but still. I'm not ready to be committed to anyone. I like to fuck and leave with no ties.

I was about to speak before the door opened. "Boss we got him set up in the basement." Verona lightly said. I wish she knew how to knock before entering. That was music to my ears though. I was ready to fuck him up. "You guys go ahead, I'll be down there in a minute."

"You sure you don't want me to stay in here with you?" Verona gave me a seductive smile.

Mike and Colton chuckled as they walked past her. Assholes.

I used to mess around with her before I moved from the empire. It was fun, but I didn't want anything serious with her. She wasn't the kind of girl I wanted by my side.

"No, you can leave." I gestured toward the door. I rubbed my hands across my face. I hope she understood I wanted nothing to do with her. I told her several times, but she just doesn't listen.

I sat down in my chair as I started thinking. After I got the information I wanted from him, I was going to kill him. He was going to pay for what he did to my Blake. And I'm not holding back either.
