I really didn't want to go but Ember (Amber) invited me to come with him. I'm not an outdoorsy kind of person so this sounded like a bad idea altogether. We've been friends for a long time, he should know that I do not like to be outside on my own.

And yet, here I am, walking through the forest by myself, trying to figure out where he is.

He told me that he would find me because he's good at finding things- or rather people. He told me he had a surprise for me but I don't see how anything could not be a surprise for me, anything could jump out at me at any time.

Suddenly I hear a rustle of leaves from the trees. "Ember? Is that you?" He doesn't reply so I start walking faster when suddenly I'm pulled backward and fall into someone's arms, "Eek!" I hit the person who pulled me from behind and I turn around. "Oh, it's just you. Don't scare me like that! You know I don't like being out in the woods!"

"Huh? Heh, sorry, my bad! Anyways, let's get going!" He starts pulling my arm deeper into the forest and it seems to get creepier and creepier.

"Hey-! Where are we going? You know I don't like the forest! Much less at night!"

He slows down and drapes his arm over my shoulder, "I promise you'll like it!" I nod and he continues leading me down a long path.

After about an hour of walking, we stop and I finally look up and gasp.

He giggles as he points at the flowing water, "I told you that you would like it!" I smile at him and he grabs my hand.

"Come on! Let's jump in!" I blush slightly, "Oh but I didn't bring a bathing suit..." He giggles, no worries! I brought extra clothes for you to change into afterward...though...I didn't know what size you wear so I just brought my clothes...they should be pretty loose on you though!"

He senses my hesitation and jumps up, "Don't worry-! Nothing is going to happen to you I promise! If anything comes near you- ya! Ya! Get back! I've got your back!"

He smiles as he turns back around to me and winks. He puts away his baron bunny and his bow and arrow and holds both of my hands in his. "Do you trust me?"

I nod and he smiles as he pulls me closer to the water. I take off my shirt and pants and throw them to the side and we both jump in at the same time.

Hours later we're sitting side by side, listening to the sound of the water while we sit on the stairs. "How did these stairs get here anyway?" I ask him. He blushes.

"Heh, I may have a bit too much time on my hands." I laugh and playfully punch his shoulder. I lay back, staring up at the sky. By this time the sun is out of sight and the stars shine brightly over us.

"It's beautiful," I say in a low voice.

"It sure is." I look over at him and see him smiling at me. For once, I'm grateful for the dark cover of the forest that he can't see the blush on my cheeks.

"Let's do this again, (y/n). I like being with you like this under the stars." He stares up at the stars and subtly holds my hand.

"I like being with you too Ember. Let's do this again."
