《Rise of the Forgotten》Ch.8 Combat and Misunderstanding

"Aldion, disable their ships. Make sure they can't escape." I ordered. Immediately I took control of the controls and started to fly towards the ships at the back.
The ship then started to fire. The shots tore through any shields and engines. Quickly multiple ships were disabled. They tried to flee soon after. I wasn't going to let them. After quickly turning, thanks to the inertia dampens, we then shot after them. They quickly succumbed to my superior vessel. They tried to enter the Sub-Space, but they couldn't. Apparently we could interfere with their attempts. I needed to figure out exactly what this ship of mine could do.
After we disabled the ships we did a deep scan on each of the ships. "Sir, on the cargo vessels there seemed to be areas that contained a multitude of lifeforms. These attackers could be smugglers or slavers."
"Why slaves? Any competent and progressive society should know that slavery is relatively useless." Why would anyone use slaves. Slavery only breeds an unhealthy sense of superiority. It could also eliminate the possibility of people that could make new discoveries. It was utterly barbaric and stupid.
"It appears that the want to dominate and subjugate other life forms can be found in almost any race. Some choose to embrace it. Others don't. I guess where there is an agreed upon 'good' there is also an agreed upon 'evil'. After all one cannot exist without the other." Philosophy. It is essential to any race as it helps you reason and question things you normally wouldn't.
"Do we have tractor beam? I would like to group them together so that you could keep an eye on them while I check out the carrier's." There was something suspicious about this situation. It was more than just these people out in this empty. It was something more. Then it clicked. How did they pull us out of Sub-Space? These ships were not capable of such a feat. "Do a detailed scan of the area! Use the full capabilities of the scanners."
A new ship showed up on the holo, it was a kilometer away. This ship compared to the ones that attacked me were like night and day. First off, it was significantly bigger, this was a ship made for combat. Second, it was more advanced than these ships, as told by Aldion, and could actually damage my shields.

The ship was a greyish silver with orange stripes covering it. It was oval shaped with fin-like protrusions on its top and bottom, that ran from its front to back. It had a length of 350 meters. It had a sigil of a three-headed serpentine creature painted on its hull.
"Sir, we are being targeted by this light cruiser. There is also a communication coming from it. Shall I put them through?"
"If we were to face this ship could we win?" I asked, mainly curious about the power of my ship.
"Should it come to a fight, we will win without any damages. Though they could damage our shields, and possibly disable them, we have multiple layers of shielding. Based on the power their guns could output, the amount of time to recharge our shields outweighs their ability to take them down. Our weapons similarly could tear through their shielding with ease." This ship is powerful. That, or their ship isn't to standard to others; among other possibilities.
"Well… then let them through. Though, keep scanning the area, I would rather not have any more surprises." This ship isn't dangerous to me, it is dangerous to the disabled ships. Thankfully the appearance of this ship allowed me to get a, albeit limited, scope of the possible advancement of technology available. After all, why use extremely outdated tech except as a representation of what was and how far you came.
A holo showed a four armed, giant furred person. Two piercing red eyes stared at me. "Surrender or die. These are your only options." A deep feminine voice said. Long braided hair framed its face like a maine. It had a feline face with a scar that started above and continued below its right eye. It was sitting in a cool chair of its own, though not as cool as mine.
"Straight to the point now aren't you." I answered with a calm friendly smile, as though I hadn't a worry in the universe. "Could you answer me one little question, are you pirates or slavers? Your answer will determine my response." I may sound calm, but inside I am infuriated at the thought of possible slavers. While viewing the other Alphas I saw the brutality and abhorrence of slavery. Should these be slavers, there would be no mercy. I've seen people get taken advantage of for their good will. That will not happen with me.

"Surrender or die. I will not ask again." They replied. Looks like I'll have to get answers another way then.
I cut the feed and immediately opened fire with ion laser fire to disable their systems. They responded with laser fire. After a little while of laser fire between the two of us, they were disabled. These fights were incredibly lackluster to me. There was no danger, nor challenge. Little was up to skill, but instead to my outstanding equipment. Sadly I was incredibly safe so I had little to nothing to complain about.
"Aldion, within what range would you be able to connect and interface with their systems? I would like to see if they contain any data about their identities and purpose." Their lives depend on what this data contained. Some might call me blood thirsty or cold blooded. Some might say that I had no right to decide their fate, though there is credibility in that thought. Sadly for them I was a little bipolar. Getting thousands of years of memories crammed into you can make you like that. I also might have multiple personalities too. Another thought for another time.
"Currently we are within range. Shall I interface, Sir? Also we are currently alone within 1000 kilometers." That added info is helpful if only to know that there are no surprises.
"Interface." Their fates will soon be decided.
"Sir, these people are not slavers or raiders. They are part of an organization called Valmin Serpents. It seems that they are on a mission to capture the people that we have met. Their organization is located in our current destination." They live. For now at least, for the future is mostly unpredictable unless you had prophetic powers. That was different though.
"If their communications are still functional then connect us to them. I want to know why they were so hostile to us."
"Certainly, Sir." Soon enough we were connected.
The captain of the vessel, Elswen Loth, showed up. She did not look pleased. "Greetings Captain Loth." I said with the same smile I had before. "I mean you no harm. I would like to know why you were so hostile to me just now. Please answer me, the lives of you and your crew are in my hands." Where before she thought she held the upper hand now was different.
"It seems I have no choice in the matter. I had presumed that you were a slave trader." She said with an aggressive tone. "You humans are often associated with slaves and the trading of them after all. So what now?" It seems that there was another race that looked either identical or extremely similar to my current appearance. I will have to look into that later.
"Well, first let me clear something up. I am not a slaver nor a slave trader. In fact I abhore the idea of slavery and was going to destroy your ship if you were slavers." I said with a chipper tone, as if I was excited about the idea of killing them. Pausing for a second I decided that I might have been mentaly damaged in some way. I put the thought to the back of my mind for later. "Second, I will allow you to get your other systems up and about. I will also allow you to collect those potential slavers back there. After that I would like to travel alongside your ship to the milky way galaxy, it is incredibly bad to travel alone after all."
She seemed slightly surprised at the last part, either she didn't expect my company or the thought that I was alone. "I would appreciate that. I would also like to thank you for helping me capture these criminals, however unintentional it was." She seemed to actually be thankful. "Also I accept your offer to travel with us."
"Great." I said, cutting the connection a little later.
It took a little while for then to get their systems back on. After that they started to tractor each of the cargo vessels. It took a while to get all of the people situated about. After checking the fighters it was found out that after I shot the engines there was a hole opened and they lost their O2 and died. Whoops. The combat ships on the other hand were fine. Except one, apparently the reactor was damaged on their ship and they died after it exploded. At least it was quick.
After all of that we then quickly got on our way.
