《Rise of the Forgotten》Ch.18 The First Meeting

After a couple of hours of negotiations we finalized my pay. I was being a large sum of money monthly and I would get a permit to buy land on any planet that I wanted. I was having any medical or repair bills paid for during the job, not that I really needed it. After finalizing the contract and pay I accepted the job and got instructions on when and where to meet the lady that I am now going to be guarding once the preparations were prepared.
I am going to be meeting her tomorrow to get her and her Chief of Security's contact info. I left the Guild headquarters and took a taxi to the shuttle port, I then took a shuttle to the space port. Arriving at the port I decided to buy some local cuisine. I bought a pizza topped with cheese and pepperoni, the reviews among humans said that I had to try earthmade pizza. They said that apparently it tasted better when made by or on earth. They were correct. Something just made the pizza taste better than anywhere else. After eating I went back to my ship, trained, made some stuff, and went to sleep.
I woke up feeling refreshed. After waking up I did some light working out, ate breakfast, and left the port. I went to a private port used for politicians and their people. I arrived at a large port containing multiple ships of various sizes. My ship is the smallest among them. At the center of all of them is a diplomatic ship, a Kennedy Class ship silver in color with the Federation flag on it, the milky way galaxy with the founding races hands/claws put together. The main body of the ship is sleek and narrow widening to the back, 2 engines stacked on each other on both sides of the back of the ship. It had no weapons but the strongest shields on anything below a battleship. It is 200 meters long and 40 meters wide.
The rest of the ships were both larger and more armed though their shields weren't as strong. The diplomatic shields they use were only used in diplomatic ships and nowhere else. The largest of the ships is 300 meters long, 75 meters wide and 90 meters tall. The largest ship is part of the authorized militant group called The Knights of the Round Table, a group based on an ancient human legend.

There are also other groups protecting the Senators daughter. I quickly found a place to dock in between the various ships. After docking I left the ship to meet the person I was hired to protect. I quickly arrived at the ship and inspected it. My eyes analysed the structure and materials used, viewing how the metals were melted together to make the alloys used. The whole ship was well made for the technology available, it seemed to be Malryion made. It also seemed to be UE infused, though very crude to my standards. This whole ship was made for defense and speed and no other purpose.
I was approached by a group of people after looking at the ship for a few minutes. A female Wen'qui approached me, her three avian eyes displaying curiosity on my being here. "Excuse me sir but what are you doing?" She spoke with a gentle curious tone. Her voice was slightly higher pitched than most female voices.
"I was checking out the ship. The alloys looked really strong and resistant to laser fire. I also took notice of the energy infusement used to give the ship some extra strength. Either the technology used in doing so is expensive or a newly made thing as I haven't seen it in any other ship. Including the ships around us." I motioned to the surroundings. The group seemed stunned at what I said.
An intelligent looking woman stepped up. "Very well observed. The energy infusement or enchantment is a recently developed technology and isn't that efficient." She had a sweet voice. This is the person I am supposed to protect. She had curly raven black hair, hazelnut eyes, and caramel skin color. She is very pretty with little make-up on. She wore casual clothes like I did.
"Ah you must be the beautiful daughter of Senator Johnson, Nadira Johnson. It's a pleasure to meet you. Though I have to admit, and this is an oversight on my part, that I know little about you. Shall we have breakfast together, your group is obviously welcome, so that I could get to know you better?" I said with a welcoming smile on my face. She seemed amused at what I said. The people behind me seemed shocked at what could be seen as an offer for a date. It wasn't meant to be, I genuinely made a mistake and didn't know a thing about her.

"Sure, I'll take you up on your offer. My father told me little about you too and I get the feeling that you are very interesting. Come let's walk to a diner in the port that makes very delicious food. We can talk on the way." She said before she started to move. I followed suit and walked beside her, her group seemed shocked at the development. I don't know why, very curious.
We walked a little further before the group got out of their stupor and jogged to catch up. The guard seemed to be non-existent right now. The group around her also is quite weak, I could kill them all before they would realize. I would need to speak about this lack of security with the Chief of Security.
Actually I have a person that should know right next to me. "So why is the security so lax? Being the daughter of a galactic Senator you should be quite the target. After all you can never be too careful."
"Oh that's because this is probably one of the most secure ports in the galaxy. Earth is the home planet of humanity, one of the founding members of the federation. There are cameras and sensors all over the port keeping an eye out on everything." She explained with a slightly proud look on her face.
"I see. So why don't you tell me about yourself, we will be traveling with each other for a while and I would like to get a feel for you." I said examining everything, from the people to the automated trash cleaners. I carried a casual smile on my face.
"Well what would you like to know?" She said with a friendly smile on her face, she appeared to be a sociable person.
"How did you grow up? What was your schooling like and what was your favorite subject?" Education of the youths is something shared with nearly every race. Some get their knowledge through other ways.
"My family's well off economically so I went to a private school on Earth. My favorite subject during the early parts of school was P.E.. During my high school days I took a debate class and fell in love with it, though most skills like talking really fast don't apply to actual debates. Eventually I entered a university focused on politics and here I am today." She explained. "How about you? What was your childhood like?"
"I'm afraid that mine is quite boring. I'm an orphan and my guardian was somehow able to keep me off the radar. There are no records of me anywhere until 6 months ago and I've been doing merc work since." I said. She seemed surprised that I was an orphan and had no records of myself from before 6 months ago.
We arrived at the diner in short order. We ordered our food and continued our conversation while also including the other in the group. After we finished I asked her where the Chief of Security was. She led me to her. After that we talked about the security detail and my position in it. I didn't have one as I was at the whim of Nadira. Nadira told me that my ship was to be close to her ship and when on the surface I was to accompany her almost always. Other than that I had free range on what to do. This might feel longer than I hoped.
