《Rise of the Forgotten》Ch. 31 The Maiden And Thunderous Applause

When their vessels exploded it flung the guards that were holding them back. They were fine thanks to their armour. The remaining members were shocked at what had transpired. I didn't stop them because I placed a mark on their souls. This only worked without me touching them because of my position as Alpha and that they were Omegians.
"Once you all calm down and collect yourselves we shall start this meeting again," I spoke. Hearing my voice everyone started to calm down. Those that were standing started to sit down in their seats. Once everyone appeared to be calm I spoke again. "Now does anyone doubt me or oppose me being the Alpha?"
No one spoke. They looked at each other before all shaking their heads. One then spoke, "None of us are in doubt and are ready to be of service." When they finished the rest nodded in agreement.
"Good then let's get right into business. First is that I want there to be an announcement spread out across the Tailmen. It will say this 'A Holy Crusade is being launched. This is against the Arch Heretics that thought that they could make their own god. We will wipe them out with no mercy.'.
They were shocked at my words. One of them then asked. "What will happen after the heretics are wiped out? Will that be the end or merely the beginning?"
"The heretics are spread throughout the Federation and Dynasty. I will negotiate with both of the leaders as the logistics of the crusade are being figured out. I will also meet with the Grand Masters of the Orders that are spread out in the galaxy. Once we are finished we will prepare our defenses. There are other beings in the universe and they are on their way here." My last words silenced them. They had grave faces as they knew what I was talking about. The federation wasn't the only one that knew about the swarm.
"This will be a time of turmoil and we must stay true to our beliefs. We have our Holy Father with us now to guide us. We shall be ready and we shall prevail." The High Tain spoke. Everyone else nodded at her words.
"But what if the Dynasty and Federation refuse to let us conduct the crusade? What will happen then?" One of the priests asked.
"Should diplomacy fail and they not allow us to have our righteous crusade happen then we will just have to resort to force. These heretics and their abomination have been allowed to live for too long. They either let us do our crusade or be consumed in the fires of war." I said with a grave tone. I would not let anybody stop me from destroying the abomination.

"Aren't we in similar strength to them? Should war break out then we would be at it for decades." One of the government officials said.
"I am going to give the production methods of the technology used in the Valeryian Orders ships. I will also provide better armour and weapon schematics and other such advanced techniques. With this, we will build new ships and equipment and we will blast through any opposition. The new ships and equipment will take time to make and during that time we will recruit and train new people to use them."
They were wide-eyed at the thought of obtaining new technology. Thinking about it they then agreed and then we moved on to other matters. There would be galaxy-wide recruitment for the personnel required to man the ships. We spent a couple of hours before ending the meeting. Everyone then left in a great hurry to carry out the tasks given. I then asked the High Tain to take me to where the maiden was isolated.
She led me to another temple on the planet. This was located in a mountain and was where each of the maidens lived and died. This is also where the Sisters of War trained and were stationed at. Their sibling group, The Brothers of the Guard, were stationed at another nearby mountain and protected the other high ranking members of the faith.
We walked into the temple and were stopped when the Sisters had to stop all the male members of my guard. With them staying to guard the outside we continued to the area where the maiden was spending her isolation. We were led deep into the temple until we arrived at a sealed ornate door. Stepping forward one of the Sisters started to undo the seals on the door. Once finished she opened it and I entered with the High Tain.
The inside of the room was a room filled with magnificent furniture. Everything was neat and clean. There was a woman who had a veil covering her face that was praying in one part of the room filled with statues of the Tailmen Pantheon. As if sensing us she got up from the ground and looked at us. She had raven black hair, amethyst eyes, fair skin, and a shapely figure. She stood at 1.75 meters tall(5ft 9in I think. Can't have her too short as he stands at 2 meters tall).
"Hello, High Tain. What brings you here?" She spoke in a heavenly voice.
"I have come to show our Holy Father who the maiden is." The High Tain gestured to me. The Maiden's eyes widened as she looked at me.

After studying me for a bit she spoke again. "Then that would mean that I won't be needing the veil anymore." She then took off their veil revealing a stunning face. My heart thumped when I saw it and I felt my soul yearning for her.
Shocked, I turned to inspect my soul and look for why it was doing this. One of the Alphas spoke when I could find nothing. "I think that the devotion and faith of the people have created a phenomenon that may have morphed or changed your soul in some fashion. This might be the reason for your feeling. I and the others will investigate the matter of your soul. You should explore this outside as well." The Third spoke. The rest of them agreed and then disappeared to explore my soul.
Returning my focus to the outside with nearly no time passing I then spoke to her. "It is great to meet you Maiden. Come we shall talk on the way back to the main temple. We have a crusade to get ready."
We walked back to the entrance and traveled back to the main temple. Along the way, I asked the Maiden, Syr, questions about her. She told me that she is part of the Dranire, a race with low numbers and humanoid form with tails and a natural ability to manipulate UE, and had been chosen as the Maiden at a young age. She is also an orphan and was picked up by a Sister Of Revelation, the group who finds the maiden. She had been schooled and trained as the Maiden since then.
Once we arrived at the main temple we were escorted to a room so that I could change my attire. Along the way, I decided to have a sermon with the people visiting the temple. I would do this along with the Maiden and High Tain. I had been reviewing the holy book of the Tailmen with Aldion and Erendial. I decided to do this to have increased support from the people for the crusade and to do a small test on the power of faith.
I changed into a long black robe that covered my entire body. The robe was embroidered with silver threads that shaped Omegian Runes. This robe was also hooded so that my face wouldn't be shown. After wearing it we then walked to the Great Hall where all the main ceremonies were held. We called together a ceremony to show me and the maiden together and to then call upon the people's support for the crusade.
The High Tain walked into the massive hall and started the ceremony with an opening speech filed with Scripture and prophecy. She ended it with the main prophecy of having their Heavenly Being come down and manifest in a 'mortal' form to guide them. She then said that that time has come and I moved forward into the sight of the people. Once I came into full view everyone kneeled and bowed to me.
"Raise my faithful. I must inform you that while it is a joyous occasion we can not celebrate just yet. Some heretics have thought that they could create their own Heavenly Being through artificial means. They are wrong and have only created an abomination.
"This abomination needs to be destroyed and it's creators annihilated. For these reasons, I am announcing a crusade against them. I have already called the main officials of the Tailmen to send out the message. Over the coming months, we shall build new fleets, new weapons, and new armour. We will also be opening up recruitment across the galaxy to man these fleets and take up arms.
"Once the fleets have been created and filled I shall be taking the orders to find and destroy the heretics and their abomination. I am tasking the rest of you to stay here and keep things running. I would be very disappointed to return and find out there is chaos and disorder among my followers." I spoke out with a grand voice. My words echoing throughout the hall. As I spoke the eyes of the people before me filled with religious zeal.
"I also want you to empower the people who will be in the crusade with your faith and prayers. Give them strength and let them train harder so that they can better fight against the enemies we will face. We shall be victorious." I bellowed out. My speech was met with thunderous applause from the people.
Once I finished I walked back and had the High Tain take over. I then walked to the room they had prepared for me and fell asleep. This was going to be a long preparation.

Now, he is facing a royal prince and tells him to bow. This draws out one of his late father's teachings from the deepest recesses in his mind. "The blood of your great ancestors runs in your veins. Don't easily bow down to anyone, or accept suppression by any being, not even from a monarch, unless you pledge your allegiance to him. Also, giving in to oppression is directly telling the oppressor that you're easy prey and open for manipulation." He is uncertain on how to face this oppression right now. Will he bows or not? What will he do to uphold his father's words while keeping his life safe? As for the prince, Theodrech has nothing to do with Freidrech, so he wishes to let this slip, but the boy opens his mouth and proposes the most ludicrous challenge he ever heard and triggers his curiosity. "I, Freidrech Goederf Gerboud, son of the late Village Chief Louvel Gerboud of Wrilon, will challenge you, Your Highness, to a battle of riddles… If you win, I will not only bow but be your servant for the rest of my life." This amuses the prince. It is the first he met a boy of the same age who is not intimidated by the air of authority he projects. Rather, this boy challenges him. "Why are you so headstrong? In fact, bowing to me is an honor. You saw the King's noble Knights. When they saw me, they bowed," says Theodrech, testing Freidrech. "Allow me to be forward, Your Highness. For me, bowing to a monarch does not guarantee loyalty. If I were you, I rather have men who stand straight in my presence but who got my back, than bowing men who are dreaming of my death," replies Freidrech. The prince’s curiosity increases. A huge smile is seen on his face. Prince Theodrech decides to take Freidrech under his wing. Little did they know, this boy who Prince Theodrech takes in as his confidant and friend in the most ridiculous fashion is someone indispensable in his life and the one who can help him succeed the throne when he almost believes he has lost.
