《Rise of the Forgotten》Ch. 38 The Siege of Earth

The removal of the criminals and their organizations on the planets was dealt with quickly and efficiently. I would have to set up my own underworld group so that I didn't have a random group of people dealing with illegal goods. It also allowed me to deal with other criminal groups that tried to set themselves up. With the underworld group taking care of them it would make the underworld as a whole more orderly. Sadly this would only happen after I had control over the federation and Dynasty.
After doing a quick sweep through of the criminal groups in the general vicinity of the corridor and along the way to Earth. The reason I was targeting earth is that it is the home of one of the founding races and is also one of the most heavily defended planets in the galaxy. Its defenses are only matched by the home planets of the other founding races, the planet where the galactic senate holds its meetings, and planets that manufacture what the federation needs in its military.
We arrived soon after. As we arrived there was a massive fleet that was ready for battle. The space stations that are in the system are also prepared and ready to fight. They had forced my fleet to exit the corridor before we could get past Pluto and have us fight through the many defenses they had prepared.
They had turned Pluto into a very big space station. It had many guns placed on its surface that aimed and fired at us as soon as we showed up. The massive plasma cannons and turbo lasers fired upon my fleet. Phase beams also fired out at the fleet. Our shields held and we advanced onwards. They had placed mines all around the system and they tried to force us into them. It was a useless endeavor.
I had the fleet disable anything that they could as we would need these weapons for our use and destroying them would be pointless. Ion blast erupted from the ion batteries upon the ships as we filed upon the dwarf planet. Their cannons were disabled one after another as our advance continued uninterrupted. We went at a steady pace to let the defenders throw what they could at us. I was going to broadcast this battle later to hopefully have them capitulate or at the very least make future fights easier.
We passed by the now disabled battle Pluto shortly after and continued onwards. It was just a vast amount of space between us and Earth. They had their battle stations unleash their missiles and long-range turbo lasers, ion blasts, and phaser beams. They all crashed upon the shields of the ships and even took down some of the weaker ones. We continued to advance as they pounded on our shields with all that they could. Nothing was working for them.

As we got closer and closer to Earth they became even more desperate to stop our unstoppable advance. They even sent their fleet close enough to fire at us but still be far enough away to dodge our shots. This in combination with the station's continued attacks were bringing down more shields. Nonetheless, our layered shielding gave the outermost shields enough time to recharge and be deployed again.
As we entered the range of the weapons of Luna, the moon of Earth, they decided to give their last try. Their defense fleet formed up into groups and assaulted us as the weapons on Luna opened fire. At the front of their fleet were ships that seemed to be made to ram other ships. They possessed the strongest shielding and had an extremely strong nose that would ram the other ships.
These ramming ships formed a wall of interconnected shields as they protected the ships behind them. With this wall and the ships behind them laying down fire along with the space stations around the system and earth and Luna's weapons firing upon us, our shields were falling quicker than they would be redeployed. Eventually, one of the ships couldn't get their shields redeployed fast enough and shots landed upon its hull.
The ship was damaged by a little bit. When that happened I decided that playtime was over. I decided that we would destroy a third of the fleet and disable the rest. So far we have only shown the gentle side of ships, now it was time to show their claws. I gave out the order and watched as laser fire erupted from my fleet.
Within thirty seconds a third of the fleet had been ripped apart. Their hulls had holes shot through them and the ships split into multiple pieces. There were no survivors aboard those ships. I then had the rest of the ships get disabled as quickly as we possibly could. Luna still fired upon us until I let the Indomitable stretch some of its guns. The cannons on the ship aimed and fired at the weapons on the moon destroying them.
After the fleet had been dealt with along with moons weapons I broadcast a message asking for surrender. I expected them to surrender under the face of my overwhelming firepower. I was proven wrong. It seemed that the humans on the planet were unyielding. I guess it would have to conquer it alongside my men. I didn't want to mess up any ancient historical cities or objects.

With their refusal, I had my guards and some of the military forces get ready to deploy down on the planet. We would lay siege to the planet. I had the other military forces land and attack the military bases on the ground while I went and attacked where the leader was at. With this in mind, I went down to the hangar and got in the shuttle along with my guard, and launched down to the planet.
They had weapons for just this sort of occasion and as soon as we entered the atmosphere we were attacked by anti-air weapons. I had fighter squads and bomber squads fly down and disable the weapons. Dozens of fighters and bombers flew down into the planet and disabled the weapons. We did lose a few of the more careless of the pilots though.
Once we landed we ran out of the shuttle and quickly secured the area. Inside the shuttle that landed with us were hoverbikes that we would use to quickly get to where we needed to be. I had only taken around 50 guards with me so there were only 26 bikes. We mounted the bikes and shot forward with great speed intending to arrive at our destination in little time.
As we advanced to our destination we had encountered many squads of enemy soldiers. When we encountered them I sent out a psychic pulse that knocked them out. We had also encountered a squad of tanks that fired upon us as soon as we appeared. We dodged the shells with our bikes and fired at the tanks with the mounted guns. The tanks were quickly disabled and we continued onward.
As we neared our destination these encounters became more frequent and the squads also got bigger as well. We arrived at a fort that was heavily defended with guards stationed all over. We got off our bikes and advanced on foot. With the sun behind us, it cast a shadow that covered our features. We walked to the base and when we got closer they fired upon us.
My guards moved in front and activated their arm shields. With the shields blocking the incoming fire we contained to advance unhurried. We continued to advance on the base with them trying to stop us. We advanced closer and closer to the entrance as they tried to use their heavier equipment. As soon as they pulled those out we broke out of our formation and sprinted to the base.
We arrived there instantly and quickly took down all those that crossed our path. People dropped in droves, stunned, not killed, as we advanced. We moved through the base taking down everyone. As we finished up we moved onto the most heavily defended position in the base. We came upon a sealed pure metal door that led deep into the base underground. Instead of going through the door, we moved to the ground around and just destroyed that.
In an oversight on the builder's part, the surrounding materials were just a concrete mix that, while sturdy, wasn't as strong as the door was. We used the simplest method of just punching the concrete mix. It was effective and we quickly moved through the debris and metal rods that reinforced it. We then went down the corridor with the foremost guard's shields up. We moved down till we met another sealed door.
This time the entire room that sealed it was made out of the same sturdy metal. We took out some plasma cutters and started to cut through the door. This took a couple of hours as I listened to the reports of how the other battles were going. They did well and stormed the bases and took them with little effort. They had rounded up the commanding officers and placed them in shuttles to put them in the prison ship.
As the door was cut through the guards resumed their positions. We then grabbed the door and yanked it down after we moved away from it. As the door fell to the ground, cracking the ground in the process, we moved forward into the room. We were met with dejected-looking people who when seeing us surrendered to us. With all of the military bases secured and the high ranking officials in our possession, we took Earth in mere hours
