《The Gods' Decree》Chapter 93 - A Gift

As we journey back to the abode two days had now passed. During this time Taf through the use of some of the many cores at his disposal slowly recovered his expended qi.
Crk!!!
A core shattered after being fully absorbed by Taf. Beside him, May too had her eyes closed as she cultivated. After a few minutes her eyes open while a smile took shape.
" I see someone is joyful they have arrived at the 7th qi condensation stage. I should gift you something shouldn't i?"
Taf spoke as he too smiled happily after seeing May finally having a breakthrough. He knew how many hours she toiled to arrive at this stage. In fact, she had worked even harder than he had most times.
" A gift huh? This is but a small achievement. Is it really deserving of such things?"
She then giggled a bit as she eyed the youth before her.
" I think we should celebrate both the small accomplishments as well as the large ones. I know you have worked hard to reach this stage, so i had something waiting for you when you did."
Taf spoke as he summoned something within his hands. It was seemingly made of a transparent glass-like material. Inside red and blue qi swirled about.
" Taf you will need that when cultivating. What use is that to me right now?"
May was surprised when she saw the demon beast core at the 9th stage.
" We made a pledge to arrive at the peak together. Do you think i would just sit down with all the advantages being bestowed to me while you have to work twice as hard?
If i could i would reverse our roles in a heartbeat. So i made the decision to do one of two things.

Since arriving at this stage we have been made aware how special my bloodline is. We also know that the path of demonification can be acquired by anyone.
So i was thinking to give you some of my blood to make your path easier. At the moment I'm unaware how this is done, however, so i had planned to ask Draconian Alestar."
While Taf spoke the once smiling May became teary-eyed.
"...and why do you think i would allow you to do such a thing you brute? Who knows what effect that might have on your future growth."
She stared tearfully as she made her way closer into his embraces.
" If all that is needed to reach the peak is some special bloodline. What's the point of the ordinary man having ambitions. Even if this is the case their would be no joy if you were not awarded the same privileges."
He then spoke as May had made her way into his embrace.
" Even so i will definitely not allow you to take this risk on my behalf. Your progress is already being halted by me. Sure you put it under the guise that you want to test your limits.
However, you seem to have forgotten that there is not much you can hide from this lady. The main reason is to not charge too far ahead of me. Do you dare to deny it?"
May then stated as she looked deep within Taf's dark brown eyes. Taf could only smile as all his plans were seemingly seen through by the young girl before him.
"Hehe, You always could see through my tricks. I won't deny it..."
He then softly spoke as he too looked with her brown eyes. May didn't know what to say as the tears slowly flowed. Seeing her tears Taf took the time to use this finger to wipe them away.

" I did say i would only make you cry tears of joy miss. So what are these? they better be sprinkles of happiness"
Taf then joked which caused May to chuckle a bit.
" You don't try sweetening me up at the moment. I'm still mad at you.."
She then stated as she pinched his sides while smiling.
" It matters not whether my progress in halted once this journey that we under take is together. I've always told you that haven't i. Realms will still be there when needs smashing, whether broken in months or years."
Seeing the smile now displayed on May's face Taf went on to say.
" Sigh you do know you make it hard to be mad at you right, sir"
She then playful shoved him away before pulling him back.
" Well, it comes with the package. When this one was created even my creator was wowed by my charismatic magnetism. It's a gift..."
Taf shrugged as he chuckled a bit...
" There you go being all full of yourself, Mr charmer"
He once again was pinched by May as he harped his own praises.
" You spoke of the first of the two options that had crossed your mind. What does the second entail?"
She then went on to add after realising Taf had indeed not finished what he had intended to say.
"...oh well i was thinking of finding the rarest of demon beasts which compliments you. Slaying it then gifting its blood to you.
However, this is the hardest option as based on the beasts we have fought so far, there is none even worthy of mentioning. I fear there mind not be any beast on this plane worthy of being bestowed as a gift.
Thus we might have to wait until we have arrived at a realm which allows us to step into the world of gods."
Taf then spoke of his idea and the hurdles they might face. May took some time to think over what was said before providing Taf with a response.
" Well in this world we are like newborn calves and as far as we are concerned it is limitless. Who knows if other methods are out there available to us. As you stated before, let's discuss it with Draconian Alestar before making any concrete plans."
May then added a few of her own thoughts after Taf had outlined a bit of his plans.
" Ok we will do as you say and confirms all of these things when the trial has ended."
There the two sat for hours as they planned a course ahead for the future. Unknown to both a golden lion with its mane comparable to charcoal had planned a visit.

The Way Ahead
What do you do when you don't fit in? Edwin never really felt many connections to other people, but as a physics student, that was fine. He didn't really need it, anyway. He was content to peel back the mysteries of the universe... not that there were many left to find. Modern-day research was just too well-established, too well-trodden for any single enthusiast to make any significant headway. But that doesn't apply to other worlds. Not ones where magic and Skills run rampant, where well-defined roles and Classes dominate much of society with little room for novel experimentation from its residents. That kind of world would be perfect for an overeager, newly-minted Alchemist to make his mark. Things are never that easy, though. The Way Ahead is a very slice-of-life story following the story of someone trying to find his place in a world that doesn't know what to do with him. Expect lots of science, lots of alchemy, a few sarcastic quips by the System, and lots of exploration involving the world, self-discovery, and above all, science. After all, further research is always required. Updates every other day at 9 AM PST. Congratulations! For writing a story during the month of November, you have unlocked the Royal Road Writathon Participant path!

The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
