《Beware of Zombies》Positive thinking: I'm God. It's okay to fear me

When we were clear of the parking lot, I sat us down on a rooftop.
Ruby backed away from me with her hands glowing red. Her face was aging as it wrinkled up in fear.
“I am just someone trying to live comfortably. I don’t condone what they are doing but I rather not end up in a cage to be made use of like a whore. So forgive me if I am going to handle the task they give me. I can’t protect myself like you can.” Ruby's voice staggered like someone stammering.
I rolled my eyes.
I didn’t care about hurting her, who was she to me?
What could she do to me even if I close my eyes?
“What is the goal? I only heard them say clear a certain distance but I didn’t care about specifics then.”
She heaved a huge breath of air. Holding her chest like she was about to have a heart attack or something. She fumbled into her pocket and pulled out a folded up map. Laying it on the rooftop as she crouches down.
I walked over and looked at it.
“Here is the center. Where we just came from, the former clothing store line and all that.” she said, while circling her finger around the former u block. “This red circle is where the wall will be put up. Everything inside needs to be cleared out and torn down.”
Ruby looks up at me to see if I understand something so simple.
Clicking my tongue, I flew up and began using my ability at a level that I wasn’t quite sure I could do. But it would be fun scaring and securing my position as the God level entity within their mist. Hopefully, it would stop them from trying to use me as manual labor or take things too far.

I closed my eyes and spread out my electrical field. Pushing it as far as it could go but I was surprised. It was too easy to manipulate it at this level. I could feel all living beings within thirty mile radius and I probably could have gone further but I felt like my mind was straining as is.
Sadly, I didn’t even need to be so far out. The radius they wanted was a mere two mile block which encompassed two walmarts and few other grocery stores that had accessible medical equipment or medicine in general. I also could feel which was the hospital or had that level of equipment. It outputs a different kind of frequency than outright computers or servers rooms.
It was very simple for me to slam down thousands of bolts that knocked down the buildings I didn’t mark. To others it would look like the sky dimmed and something bright ripped them out of their homes.
Ha, an Alien abduction.
Lightning crawled through the city like large spiders. Buildings were reduced to fine sand, metal inside was attracted out and piled into neat piles at the parking lots.
Anybody that was living was dragged to the parking lot for Ted to deal with. Only thing standing after my demonstration of what a God was capable of was buildings that were needed for the maintenance of the city or had equipment or materials for human survival.
I floated down to Ruby who was staring with open mouth horror. Her eyes nearly excited her skull. I was pretty sure she pissed herself but I was far enough away that I couldn’t smell it. Though there were dark lines on her jeans like dark veins.
Tsk, grown women nowadays.
She turned her head to me and slowly closed her mouth. “I guess that works too.”

I nodded and flew her back to the team. None of them bothered me as I sat in Lotus above them, watching the castle take shape quickly. The lad was building more than just a castle. He was adding some kind of system that was giving me loads of weird feelings. Not bad, more like a powerline was giving me background noise.
I could see someone was directing him when he wasn’t taking breaks. I figured this would be finished in a few days but then I noticed two more people were directed towards him. Both being females and after a quick talk with whoever was directly. The contours of the castle took shape much quicker.
Scary pace.
“Is he a God?”
Why, yes. Yes, I am.
“I don’t know but they said he was the one that dragged us out of our homes. Tch, who can fight with someone like that. I can’t even get made when all she says is if you got a problem talk to him.” some anger woman said.
“You think that is a problem? I heard that only women have rights to any kind of position. The former men are just slaves. He is the strongest slave of them all. Fighting back would be like subjecting yourself to death. Best just to shut up and deal with it. Government bound to do something soon.” a random guy muttered.
“You should be quiet. Do you think that guy can’t hear? If he could drag us out of our homes from the surrounding area while demolishing them. Then don’t you think he can hear you talk about him right under him.” another person caution.
“Tch, what more can he do to me? Besides, do you imagine that a guy that powerful cares about someone as insignificant as me? I mean, look at us. They have people with power but us men and you stupid women, are moving rocks by hand. By hand, for god sakes!” the same person complained in a fierce whisper.
I shook my head and glanced up into the sky. There were things I could do to improve my ability besides, I didn’t think they were wrong in what they were trying to achieve. It was just the wrong mindset put forth.
Someone should have established a defensive fort for humanity to strive forth. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that before but maybe it was because I was comfortable with being in paradise. It corroded my mind, made me easier to manipulate.
Damn, Mrs. Harper is a bloody genius when it comes to manipulating people.
If Hannah never tried this bullshit, I would never have pushed my power to get stronger. I would never have thought about saving others in vast numbers. I would never have done anything to help others pass clearing out grey skins for entertainment.
I clicked my tongue in disappointment and flew up into the sky. I began releasing lightning around me. Gathering up dark clouds and slowly creating an electrical storm that expanded four hundred miles out.
I sat right in the middle of it all.
Absorbing and pushing out lightning.
I am God.
A God shouldn’t be controlled.
Grow in power then kill both mother and daughter. Then take over their project.
Ha, create a cult called Thunder God Religion.

Path of the Ancients
When humans with the ability to control the fundamental particles of the universe with their minds were first discovered, the age of space travel began in earnest. Relativistic travel faster than the speed of light became possible and humanity moved out into the stars. When it was discovered that these Mages could be turned into effective weapons, humanity turned back to its oldest pastime of war. Hundreds of years later as humanity was on the brink of self-destruction, with its taste for war finally beginning to wane, a new organization was created. The Conclave was formed to regulate all Mage’s within the human colonies. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. As the old saying goes, ‘Power Corrupts’, and many people were unhappy with the way the Conclave had been leveraging its authority, not the least of which were the Mages they controlled. One unregistered illegal Mage by the name of Tyrial had made it his life's mission to dismantle the Conclave at any cost. After spending decades working towards his goals alone, he realized he would need the aid of willing allies in his crusade. Tyrial would need all the help he could get learning to work with others, dealing with his own dark past, and handling unfamiliar feelings of romantic interest. Content Warning Note: They are there to cover my behind. I honestly hesitated to put them there at all but I figured better safe than sorry. Gore in particular barely applies and the sexual content amounts to light Cinemax style at best. But, at least now you can’t say I didn’t warn you. POSTED: Currently, this story is being posted to RoyalRoad and ScribbleHub. If you see this story posted anywhere else, please report it to the user "Tyrial" on either of the aforementioned sites. Runicka: Tournament of Monsters (A GameLit Card Game Fantasy)
The runes are changing, and with it, the game itself changes. Taygion Ardwella finds himself stranded, alone, and on the run from some very determined guards who claim Tay's stolen from them. They're right, but that shouldn't mean Tay has to give back what he took. He's only been in Stormwall for a week and already, he's earning the ire of the most powerful and notorious House that controls the city's underground. And when their scion challenges Tay to a duel of cards, Tay will find himself thrust into a game of sorcery and strategy as he attempts to both find a way out of this mess and find his own way in the world. To do both, he'll need to learn to accept guidance and coaching where it's sorely needed, craft a deck of unimaginable power, and not die whenever his opponents try and cheat him out of a hard-earn victory. But not all is as it seems in the shadows of Stormwall, and if Tay can figure out the importance of what it is he's stolen, he may just have a chance at saving the game of Runicka. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Runicka: Tournament of Monsters is a high fantasy, card game-based adventure novel with enough magic, worldbuilding, and characters to fill a Sanderson series. I would consider it a part of the GameLit subgenre. This series in particular is not an isekai, and will start and end in a high fantasy setting complete with its own lore and backstory. It is a progression fantasy, and I am writing it inspired by all the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas/animes, and all the hours I've invested/wasted (depending on who you ask) playing TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a work in progress. In your journey through Stormwall alongside Tay, you'll probably find typos, grammatical errors, and maybe a confusing sentence every once in a while (although I hope to keep these to a minimum). That said, comments and suggestions on where I can improve are not only encouraged but greatly appreciated. And finally, expect new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Currently on a small hiatus. I have a bit of a workplace crisis going on. I'm still writing, but I don't have time to polish and publish. Chapters will return on a regular basis soon though!!**
