《Evolution of the Twin Xenomorphs》Chapter 10 B.O.Ws vs The Twins (Part 3)

Tsss Tyrant B looked to his shoulder to see a wisp of smoke rising and the faint sizzling sound next to its ear. Looking up, it saw my face hanging from a chain a few inches above its head with an open mouth, dripping saliva on its face. Bang! My inner jaw sprung out from mouth and bit through its left eye, ripping it from within its eye socket. The Tyrant covered its eye with its left hand and swiped towards my head. When it swung its right arm to my head, I leaned back only for Tyrant B to grab hold of the chain and rip me down.
Tyrant A's footsteps was heard rushing over to where we were, throwing aside the forklifts and other vehicles that blocked its path. Tyrant B's eye by now had recovered and a boot came flying to my face, cracking my skull and disorientating me. A fist hit my arm like a truck on steroids, breaking the hard exo-skeleton and breaking my right arm that hung limp.
[Detected foreign energy source. Commencing extraction.]
Never would I had thought a monotone voice could sound like an angel. This small system prompt helped stabilized my staggering body and regain my lost focus. Stepping out from the sunken put beneath me caused by my acidic blood, I dived between two craters and disappeared once again in the dark. The two Tyrants were hot on my trail and we played cat and mouse as I tried to stall for time.
At first, this was a good idea, until the two Tyrants started to do stuff out of my expectation. One of the Tyrants that was following me suddenly changed directions. It wasnt much of a problem for me with my senses but it did make me realize that they were quickly learning. These monsters were, after all, only recently released from their 'incubation pod' essentially making them newborns.

The tensed muscles in my body loosened up and relaxed, increasing in size then contracted, repeating several times before slowing down with my body slightly bigger than it was. This was the effect of the points added into vitality and defense, which caused the wounds all over my body to recover. Still pretty slow, but infinitely faster than it previously was. I could feel that Juno also had an increase in strength, different to how I felt though which could only be explained through our different evolutionary paths.
The sub-basement that ive been in this entire time is a experimental weapons factory. When I arrived at my desired location, Juno rushed through the destroyed passageway and caught site of me on the opposite end of the room. Picking up a rpg within a metallic case, I struggled to pull the trigger with my wider fingers aiming at a crate of grenades that was just some meters ahead of the Tyrants.

Booom!!
Tyrant B that was leading in the front was blasted by the compact firepower of the grenades and was blasted backwards by the shock/heatwave, knocking into Tyrant A as they collapsed together. Throwing the used rpg back into the box, I crept over to the side to an 'M134 Minigun' that was mounted to a sturdy tripod. Aiming at the Tyrants who were currently blinded by the flames, I focus fired onto them.
Brrrrrrr
The extremely high rate of fire bombarded Tyrant A causing it to take several steps backwards with its guard raised to protect its head. Bullet wounds came and left and the trench coat become tattered, showing his pale and muscular chest. Tyrant B who was standing behind Tyrant A shoved B aside running at my position. Changing targets, the remainder of the ammunition was emptied out on Tyrant A.
Tyrant B who was recovering and the flames dying down, didnt have time to react to the sudden ambush that leapt to his face. Juno, like an assassin, struck the enemy when it was momentarily weakened and aimed at its only visible weakspot, the eye. Grabbing onto the Tyrants head, she inserted her claws into his skull 2 inches deep. The immense vitality and regenerative ability of the Tyrant, was pushing her claws out. Juno opened her jaws and aimed for the Tyrants eye. Sadly, she did not know that Jun had already tried this earlier and was disappointed. Before the tongue could even pierce its eyes, he grabbed onto the tongue and ruthlessly pulled it out.
『AAAAHHHH!!!』 A shrill screech resounded in the sub-basement distracting Jun who was wrestling with Tyrant B. 『Juno!!!』 Juno jumped off from the Tyrant that was about to bear hug her, slashing her tail across its neck, leaving a finger widths gash. Pointless that it was, it was better than nothing. Juno who was leaking acid from her mouth onto the floor. Retreated into the dark after catching glimpse of something above hanging there silently.
『Jun!! Can you distract them for a few minutes?!』
『What? Why?』
『I have a plan! Please, just do it!』
『Alright sis!』
Tyrant A tried to chase after her but lost her not even after a minute passed. Little did it know, it was lead closer to Jun and Tyrant B. Turning its attention to Jun and running towards the two...
Several minutes later.
『Juno, I cant hold on any longer!』
『Im finished! Brother, we need to escape now, this place is gonna explode!』
『What?!』 Jun searched for Juno and saw her above a large missile warhead below her, hanging from the ceiling. 『Shit!』 The Twins swiftly left the sub-basement chased by two half naked angry Tyrants. Passing the open door to the basement, they heard a deafening explosion below them which shook the entire base and white palace above ground. Flames below them roared like an awoken dragon disturbed from its slumber.
Swish. Swoosh. BOOM!
The Twins dark figures escaped the cargo entrance and was blasted by the shockwave outside, rolling on the uneven earth that was sunken because of the collapse of the underground facility.
『We... we did it? We won, right? We killed them!! Junnn!!!!』
My sister cried like a baby and whined incessantly, cuddling and playing around with me on the grass nudging each others heads. I plopped onto the earth and just allowed her to play with my head.

Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.

I write for fun only, and this book is an amateurish attempt at showcasing my world on The Spear and The Cross. If you still want to stick around, then go ahead. Maybe it'll be a fun ride. And also, a big thanks to my artist friend, Milkuii, for the wonderful cover art.
