FL POV
4 hours later.
It's been hours since Jun's departure and every second I grow anxious. What's taking so long? I wondered. It shouldn't have taken this long to head towards the town. I tried talking to him telepathically, but he never responded, I'm really worried about him, and I've hesitated to run out the manor many times... but if he's alright and I just overreacted, he'd probably be a little angry. So I can only bear with this anxiety that plagues my mind and continue with my work.
I wouldn't say it's on the level of Leonardo da Vinci, but this is a work of art! In the entrance to the manor, the whole inside was unrecognizable. The walls were, ceiling, stairs, floor, everything. Was covered in a black, bio-mechanical-like substance. It was the saliva I secreted that could harden fairly quickly. It wasn't just the entrance, the same was done throughout the entire manor, strengthening the once crumbling building into a solid structure that was no different from it being one single object.
I was currently underground in the cellar. The work of art, I was referring to was the 5-meter tall spherical Rift Gate. The reason I transformed the entire manor was that a system prompt suggested doing so to further strengthen the Rift Gate. The entire building was interconnected and woven together.
[Objective complete.]
『Juno, soldiers are heading your way. Be careful.』 (Jun)
『Jun?! I was so worried, are you okay? What's going on?』 (Juno)
『The Umbrella Corporation has discovered our whereabouts. I've been killing them but they just keep coming. Whoever is in charge, has taken an interest in us. It isn't just the Umbrella Corporation, foreign countries have our information and different forces are being dispatched here. I need you to take care of the Rift and kill every single soldier that comes near you. I've got to go, I can see the energy source up ahead so hold down the manor and wait for my return.』 (Jun)
『Brother, who cares about the Rift. Let me help you! Jun? Jun?!!』 (Juno)
Something was very different about Jun's tone during this talk. His tone became much calmer and colder. It honestly scared me a little. Weren't we just joking a few hours ago? I'm really scared... But, I'll listen to Jun. My senses picked up several approaching soldiers outside and my anxiety changed into a pure, unadulterated rage.

『You... How dare you target my brother...』 (Juno)
Her voice was ice cold and very terrifying murderous intent exerted from within her body and into the surroundings. The soldiers that were just outside the door froze in fear. When they took a step back and lifted their guns, their head already started to fall from their necks and hit the ground with a thud. The armored vehicles parked further down picked up their weapons and fired at the entrance where I stood.
『Who are you shooting at exactly.』 (Juno)
I said, standing behind a soldier wielding a mounted turret but what he heard was a terrifying hiss in his ears. I shoved my tail through his back and twist it upwards straight out his mouth. Flinging the dead soldier to the neighboring vehicle caused it to tilt over from the sheer force used. The soldier's formation was a mess, unable to track my swift and stealthy movements. The first wave was taken down, soaking the earth with blood and dying it red.
The second wave came small tanks that destroyed the surrounding terrain in a radius of half a kilometer. But were turned into a pile of scrap under by attacks.
The third wave aircraft support bombarded the manor destroying half of it in the process. There was nothing I could do about them but they were at most as dangerous as an annoying mosquito.
The fourth and current wave B.O.Ws were deployed as the injured/remaining soldiers temporarily retreated.
This. This is a bit too much, isn't it? I thought. Why... why are they fighting so desperately to capture us? Aren't there stronger B.O.W's compared to us? We couldn't even take down the Tyrants without using the nuclear missile. Unfair as it was, I could only grit my teeth and slaughter everyone. It is, what it is.
[Foreign Energy source detected. Commencing extraction.]
『Hey Juno...』 (Jun)
『...』 (Juno)
『I need you to do something.』 (Jun)
『No.』 (Juno)
『It might be a little hard.』 (Jun)
『Stop it.』 (Juno)
『But I'm sure you can handle it.』 (Jun)
『Shut up...』 (Juno)
『So please, make sure to be extra careful.』 (Jun)
『No... no, Jun, shut up! I'm coming to you right now!』 (Juno)
『Look at you, I'm fine so you don't need to overreact so much. We'll meet each other again very soon. Okay?』 (Jun)

[Rift Maker activated. Rift Gate activated. World location has been recorded. Detected host 'Juno' within the Rift Gate's range. Given the emergency, the host 'Jun' is in, he can enter an unstable Rift.]
『Open the rift!』 (Jun)
『Brother!-』
[99% of stored energy has been used to open the Rifts. The Unstable Rift will close in 5 seconds. 3...2...1 Closing the Rift and stabilizing the unstable space.]
In the manor, Juno who was forcibly sucked into the Rift Gate desperately cried out Jun's name until she disappeared through the Rift Gate. The swirling void inside collapsed and the Rift Gate cracked and lost a bit of its luster. The B.O.Ws that stood in the cellar rushed over to the Rift Gate but were commanded to stop by an unknown figure in the shadows. Stopping the monsters from further destroying the gate.
【Interesting... From where did you come from.】 (???)
ML POV 2 hours ago.
Now that I've warned her, I can focus properly. Before me stood the familiar yet unfamiliar Tyrant. It had discarded its limiter coat and mutated into a Super Tyrant. Its muscles increased in size and created bulging, rock-hard black tissue all over the chest, arms, and back. The right hand expanded and split into a series of long, sharp talons used to easily rip enemies to shreds; the claws can even tear through metal.
The reason why I hadn't been responding to her was exactly because of this mutated Super Tyrant. I stood in a slowly sinking pit caused by my acidic blood that left the wounds littered across my body. It was only thanks to the small Tyrant DNA I had used to evolve, that gave a boost to my regenerative abilities, that I could be standing till now. Swaying my tail from side to side and turning my head to look at the surrounding, I chuckled coldly. Heavy infantry encircled both me and the Super Tyrant but was only on standby. Though, their weapons were aimed at only me.
Several men in suits were in a deep conversation, talking about my majestic appearance which is completely different to the B.O.Ws on the market, and anything they've ever seen before. One has to know that the resident evil world was very advanced in biotechnology, and created hundreds, thousands of different mutations, monsters, B.O.Ws. I could hear what it is they were talking about, growing annoyed and furious at these pricks who thought I was already theirs.
I let out a deafening roar as the Super Tyrant that was facing me, picked up its foot and walked towards me starting into a run. I also ran at him because the energy source was just a little over 20 meters away. So close, yet so far. We exchanged blows, me being on the receiving end most of the time.
A little over an hour passed with our fight not slowing down at all. The suited men grew anxious over time as well and it appeared as though they were getting ready to capture me in my exhausted state. I won't let them take advantage of me, even if it costs me a limb. The Super Tyrant who was above me raised its arm and struck at my chest. I moved my body ever so slightly, which caused the dagger-like claws to rip through the right side of my rib cage and ripping it open.
The soldiers were commanded at that time to take action, but it was part of my plan to allow the Tyrant to stab me. Grabbing hold of the arm, I kicked its abdomen and threw its heavy body over my head. With a clear path to the energy source, the system prompt alerted in my mind. With the encroaching circle of guards that aimed their guns at me, I held my open wound to apply pressure as it recovered slowly. It was then that a Rift opened which stunned the entire crowd as they watched my injured body getting sucked into the void-like space.
Drifting through the void, my consciousness declined until I fell into a deep sleep. My last thoughts of Juno, and whether she would be okay...
『I have faith that she'll be alright... but not so much in myself without her...』
FL POV
I fell into an unfamiliar world, not bothering to check my surroundings because I was already lost in my emotions. I whined and cried and curled tightly to myself. Fearing that I've lost my beloved brother.

Dream Dungeon
Welcome to the dream dungeon. Ely suddenly finds himself in a mysterious dungeon accessed only through sleeping. Many people are drawn into this dream world, confused and mystified. Those in this dungeon must kill monsters to survive; maybe even each other. Join Ely as he struggles to survive a ruthless environment. What replaces his rest is untold trauma. What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
