The next morning I awoke to the sound of chirping birds and rays of light peeking in my windows. I had set an alarm because I wanted to get up with plenty of time to spare before Byte and I had to meet Yua and Reiji at the school. But the fact that I managed to wake up before the alarm clock went off proved even more useful.
“Clothes?” Byte questioned as he yawned after I told him my early morning plans (apparently even he needs to yawn off his sleepiness in the morning).
“Yeah, I figured we could go get you some sets of clothes for when you aren't in class. Lucky for you my dad had pajamas that he doesn't wear anymore or you wouldn't have had anything to wear to bed last night.” I said as I pointed to the ‘Kiss the Cook’ shirt and the rubber duckie PJ bottoms he had on.
“The ‘duckies’ are quite cute” Byte mentioned as he looked down at his bottoms.
“Comeon, let's eat really fast and then we can go shopping for you” I spoke as I lead the way into the kitchen.
After we ate our quick meal, we left to go check out a small department store I knew of in the area to get Byte some new outfits. The walk wasn't that long since the one I wanted to visit was really close to the school. Not only was it close but they had nice clothing for cheap which was exactly the kind of thing we were looking for. As a ‘Plain Jane’ myself, I'm all about casual T-Shirts and blue jeans, but I really wanted to give Byte a chance to pick out his own style.
“Which clothing should I wear” he asked in his normal voice, but with a pinch of curiosity.

“There's all kinds of snazzy outfits to choose from in here Byte let's look around, I'm sure we will find something you like” I said with a smile.
“I see” he remarked in his stoic tone as he began to follow my lead.
We must have inspected every piece of cloth in that store by the time we were done looking, and Byte had not picked out anything that he wanted to wear. I would show him an outfit and he would say something like ‘I see’ or ‘that's nice’ but he didnt ask to try anything on or even really show any interest in the clothes. Just when I was about to throw in the towel and just pick out something for him to wear myself, he spoke up.
“I know what I want to wear” he mentioned as he turned to face me.
“Oh yeah?” I asked as I looked at him. “Show me.”
He then led me to a table that had blue jeans on them and pointed to a rack full of novelty tees.
“Are you sure about this? Don't want to go for a more sophisticated look?” I questioned him as I rummaged through the rack of shirts.
“These are the kinds of clothes that you wear, so I think I would also like to try the look” he explained as he held up one of the shirts to his body.
At that moment my cheeks were scorching so I moved to hide my face. “Okay, okay let's pick out some stuff then.
At the end of the trip, we walked out with a load of new duds for Byte so neither he nor I would have to worry about him not having anything to wear.
“I think this one is my favorite” Byte announced as he held up a graphic tee. It depicted a young man with a sword fighting what appeared to be a vampire. I think it's from an anime, it looks really familiar.

“Well, I'm really glad you're happy” I said as I smiled at him.
“Yes, thank you” Byte said before he broke into a small smile.
I started to blush so I hid my face away from him by looking down at my phone, and that's when I noticed the time.
“Well we better be hitting the road if we want to make it on time to the school” I announced as I looked at Byte.
“I see, let's go” he uttered in his stoic voice as we picked up the pace together to go meet Yua and Reiji.
