《Aurora's Sky》Chapter 4 : Aurora (4)

After the creation of the A.I., Aurora (girl) wanted to find a way to cure all of her faults. She wanted to cure her entire body so she can run and play without the assistance of her mother or anyone. She wanted to find a way for her to experience technology in its full glory, rather than the stories and history that she read from the book pages.
So she started brainstorming possible ways to achieve her goal. She read more books, talked to her father incessantly when he came by, and annoyed her mother with her constant theories. At one point the mother was so annoyed that she told her to go move somewhere else.
Little did the mother know that this simple phrase inspired little Aurora. Aurora thought that maybe if she could move her “self” to another body she would be able to rid herself of the magnetic field and the failing body parts. And so Aurora, with her tiny little fists and green-blue eyes, began her next greatest achievement at a mere age of 5 years.
Aurora for the next 3 years locked herself in her library and only opened when it was time to eat. Her mother was of course worried but she didn’t have the heart to tell the little girl to stop being passionate about the one thing that she could do. Aurora for the next year would only be frustrated and seemingly waste her time on the project that she had started.
The frustration grew and grew and with her growing frustration her powers also grew berserk. One night she was so frustrated that the entire city was down for 10 min. Her dad figured that she was the only one that could cause this and immediately walked home and told her to calm down.

She then realized that her power had a lot to do with her mind. This brought out a curiosity towards the one thing that she detested the most in her life. Maybe this power had something to do with her intelligence. Ways to test her powers and their relation to her mind and intelligence was soon created by herself.
She at first began to expand her power and then lower her power down through moods. Afterwards, she focused on one task and the power seemed to concentrate itself. Her findings discovered that her powers really never could go lower than a 15m radius and she could expand it to what seemed like endless. She also realized that when she created the final piece to the A.I. she had focused all her being and the information seem to come to her, possibly through her power.
Aurora then tried something completely new. One night she focused all her energy into one thought in her mind. She thought about her want, no, she needs for the technology to move consciousnesses. She tried again and again. Each time she tried she would fail and with each failure she grew angrier and angrier. She screamed with her weak lungs. Instead of a scream, it came out as more of a hoarse wail. She focused harder and harder. Then suddenly the force around her jerked upwards. The force around her continued to coalesce around her and beaming upwards towards space.
The beam appeared to go straight up and seem to go on forever. Her mind went blank and information seems to gather around the beam like a magnet. The information came from long lost civilizations in places that she, humans, or anyone else could not have known. Little did Aurora know that the beam caused an amazing change on Earth and all the other nearby planets.

All technology failed at the same time. Mass panic occurred as people thought the end of the human race was arriving. Even more amazing was the fact the skies above Earth all had major magnetic distortions and caused a short disperse of the poles. The aurorean lights had come earlier and were more widespread than ever, covering the entire world in a majestic green and light. All of Earth witnessed the darkest night in humanity’s technology and the brightest night in the natural sky.
Almost as fast as it had came it left. Technology resumed almost immediately and the lights disappeared from the sky. However, no one could forget the 5 seconds of the event that had occurred.
One of these people that could not forget was little Aurora herself. Her mind was back from the blankness she had experienced. In place of her blankness was new found information. The information to transfer a consciousness to another platform in the form of data. It wasn’t quite what she wanted but it was a step in the right direction.
For an entire year she wrote in her notebooks (she had long expanded out from her original notebook and now had around 3000 notebooks of her very own). She wrote down everything she knew. She had written down a way for her to achieve movement of her body and at the same time come near technology once again. She brought her notes to her father and proudly presented it to him and had him bring all the books to the reader (a device that her father created specifically for Aurora to compile her knowledge in her notebooks).
Her father was astounded by the idea of transferring her consciousness into an A.I. and giving her a new virtual body to move. However, he did not want this to happen at all. He refused to believe that his beautiful daughter would resign her body in order to simply move around in a virtual reality. He berated her telling her that this idea was impossible and he refused to allow it to happen. He had clearly underestimated her passion for movement and technology. He ordered her to leave and go to her room.
She wheeled herself out of the library rapidly, but didn't return to the mansion. She actually had hiden herself in the garden to wait for her dad to leave the library so she could return to her comfort zone.
She then reentered the library and began to cry. Her father had denied her for the first time in her life and what he denied her was her idea of achieving her dreams.
However, little did Aurora or her father know that the last conversation they would have would be of them arguing.
