《The Infinite Item box IS the best thing someone can have on an adventure》Chapter 20 - Hole

Harrian awoke in a veil of darkness, his body floating within a room with no floor. He looked everywhere and he saw a small and bright light. In his struggle, Harrian quickly floated towards it and then a bright light engulfed him, it was so bright that he had to close his eyes.
As Harrian opened his eyes, he was greeted with a gallery of views. Each one ending the same way as the last one, someone dying, and that someone was Kaloko. Hung, drowned, disembowelled, burnt, raped, and… used [Decay]. The final one broke Harrian, so badly he woke up yelling with sweat pouring from his face.
The [Dark Magician] looked down and saw that he was naked under a cover of white sheets. He heard giggling right next to him and looked to see Tifian chuckling like a little kid underneath the sheets. Seeing the princess brought back memories of what happened last night, and then he looked back at her with dead eyes.
"You used [Nightmare Teller] on me, why?" He asked her "That creates an automatic nightmare
"I wanted to see your reaction, I had that mask on me for a decade, so cut me some slack,"
"Yesterday was also a big day for me as well, and that generated some horrible realities," Tifian came out of the sheets and pressed her body on Harrians back, forgetting what happened.
"You're right, I'm sorry, let's get up,"
"Yeah, let's,"
Harrian used [Swap] and made his tophat appear in his hands before he put it on. He put out his hands and his clothes automatically put themselves on. Rache came out of Harrians top hat and he waited for Tifian.
She was about to put on her veil, before she stopped herself, instead, the princess asked Harrian to do her hair. He sighed and used [String Control] to put it into two ponytails. Her white hair glistened in a ray of sun that was cracking through the blinds of Tifians' room.
They both exited the room and met up with the rest of the [Heroes Party]. Nicko was eating some rocks, Atogin, some sort of seed whilst Enar was praying before eating a loaf of bread with fruit in it. Harrian didn't feel hungry, but he decided to get some water which he drank.
Since Harrian fused with Dropley, his daily needs have become much simpler. He eats much less, and instead of defecating waste, his body makes something called a [Slimeball], a common and nutritious dish that even the peasants can afford with a few hundred sals.
After a while, Enar asked everyone to leave except her party. Harrian sat down on a ledge next to Atogin before Enar began to speak.
"The king wants us to exit the capital, something about a sudden change in a structure," She sighed.
"I don't see that as a bad thing," Nicko began to fiddle with a Rubix cube he got out "It's about time, we've been cooped up in the castle for six weeks, the colosseum yesterday was our first time out,"

"For you, Lunan and I played hide and seek, I would have five minutes to hide and he would go seek, only one time I lasted more than a minute," Atogin said with a nervous laugh.
"We are leaving in an hour, be at the north gate by then, say goodbye for what will probably be a week, Harrian we all know that goes for you,"
"W-what do you mean?" Harrian stuttered "Why me?"
"*Sigh* You are the only one of us to have an affair in this world, so, you have the most ties to it, you made love to a princess, the third born princess, but still,"
"I'll go say goodbye right now, Atogin, have a [Slimeball], you're becoming more bird-like by the hour," Harrian under armed a hand-sized blue ball which Atogin caught before leaving the room. The [Demihuman] felt personally attacked, but not a lot.
Harrian found Tifian about he'll be going for a while, and she barely seemed to care. Although Tifian did show the emotion of loss, Harrian said that he would come back, no matter what. The [Dark Magician] walked away towards the north gate, with Tifian tailing behind him, it seems that the princess was just trying to hide her true feelings.
As the couple arrived, Enar was talking to someone near a wooden carriage, it had a sign on the stop which had the visible word 'Store' with under it saying 'A golden experience'. Atogin was posing with a random girl with dark blue hair, which had a similar build to Cordelie, which was probably her.
He looked at Nicko and he was still fiddling with a Rubix cube, Harrian expected that and looked back to Enar and she was walking towards Harrian with Gold behind her. She stopped and told Harrian about what is happening, Harrian saw this as weird so he asked a question.
"Why is Gold driving us? Is he doing this as a favour, or is he holding something ransom,"
"Harrian, you said I saved your life, I would probably be leeching off that if I wanted money, Enar has set up travel costs and I am heading that way as well."
Harrian accepted that and in five minutes, they were inside the medium-sized Carriage. It was made completely out of wood and was full of cabinets, and one thing was for certain, it was certainly bigger on the inside.
Other than reminding Harrian of a certain sci-fi show, he was angered because the [unique skill] he had was similar to this. Harrian out of annoyance asked Gold about it.
"An explorer found this in one of his travels, it's called an [Space Seed], I grew it and with my [Tree Affinity], and with Cordelies [Wet] and [Rock affinity], we were able to grow this. If you make a room out of it, it can be slightly larger on the inside, outside this box has two layers, one of a five-year-old Magetree and then, a protective coating." Gold quickly said.
Gold and Cordelie went to the front where they began to control a red horse. The rest of the group sat on the boxes and began to talk about each other's matches. The centre of attention was on Atogin, Harrian couldn't stop talking about him using [Ancient Magic] twice in under an hour.

The [Demihuman] said that the only reason he could've used it a second time for half of his [Health Points] and him unable to use any sort of [Magic], [Limit Break] was fine because that didn't require [Magic] to use.
Harrian would check in with Gold every thirty minutes or so, to see how everything was going well, and usually, he would say that it was fine. It was fine for about six hours estimate before the carriage came to a halt, Harrian knocked on a small slide door and gold quickly responded.
"Hey [Heroes Party], you better come out now, I think you might want to help." Gold said with a nervous tone of voice.
The group immediately heard it and they quickly opened the door and jumped out. They were on a ledge, surrounded by a steep drop, and a village utterly decimated. The group took notice and three of them took action.
Atogin quickly disappeared from the group and was a quarter way down the mountain. Nicko and Harrian took notice, both jumping at the same time. Nicko protected his head, and made his scales a filtered yellow, smashing through dead trees. Thanks to Harrian being half a slime, any physical damage didn't harm him as much, so he just used [Decay], making the dead trees blocking his way disintegrate.
Enar was the odd one out, she had no way of getting down the ledge without hurting herself, so she just decided to run down the path towards the village. Atogin, Nicko and Harrian landed and looked around the village. The houses were demolished, some debris found tens of metres away. Whatever happened here, it was certainly heading in one direction, where they were travelling.
After a while, Enar, Gold and Cordelie caught up, and then, some villagers began to appear. There were thirty at most and the knelt holding small bags of sals in their hands, the group was shocked.
Before long, a middle-aged man, roughly in his thirties with dirty blond hair stood up and began to limp towards the group. He then knelt and began to shake.
"My name is Martin, oh please adventurers, please allow our little Sals for food," The man said.
Enar stepped forward and gently swayed her hand down towards the floor, telling the people not to beg. She looked straight into the man's eyes and gave him an answer.
"Harrian, how many of those [Slimeball] do you have, Atogin enjoyed your excretions," Enar looked back to the [Dark Magician].
"Dropley usually made about one a day, and I already made five on the ride, so near fifty [Slimeballs],"
"That should be enough, give each person here one and the mortally injured two, if there any leftover, feed them to the children and elderly,"
"Got it." Harrian took off his tophat whilst Rache made a basket out of string. He got out a reasonable amount of [Slimeballs] and began to give one to each person. It was cold to the touch and blue with it being a bit darker in the middle. Each person soon took a bite and ate the rest in four bites. Martin looked astonished and opened his mouth again.
"Why would you do this? For a village out in the middle of nowhere, why?" He asked.
"It would sully the [Heroes Party] name, us, Nicko use your connection to the earth to create some walls, and Atogin you find some people and go foraging,"
"Understood," Both of them replied before heading off in separate places.
Nicko began to pick up debris and guess where they originally stood. After he put some wood and stone in a pile, he would sit down and place both his hands on the floor. The earth around the wood and stone would begin to move around, creating walls with an entrance.
Enar began to treat the injured, using her [Calm presence] ability, it immediately calmed down everyone and began to numb any pain in the area of effect. She would examine the wound and then use [Numb], then [Recover]. She would then call on Harrian to put some of his bandages on the wounds.
Atogin took some men into the woods to collect some meat. With Lunan teaching Atogin everything about assassination techniques for drawn-out missions, for him, hunting was easy. Atogin didn't come back for about an hour, the group had hunted six boars, as well as setting traps around the forest.
Finally, Harrian took the hides from the boars and began to teach the children how to sow. It was easy, and after a while, they began to touch Rache, giving them [Beast taming magic]. After Harrian took the children and they came back soon after, each one with a different coloured slime.
The group then soon left, with a village which could support itself. Although right before, in the middle of the village, they set up a statue of Enar's staff, Nicko built it, Atogin changed its material, and Harrian added details.
The group was about to go, but then Harrian heard his name called, in the crowd seeing them off, a small girl was there. Harrian looked back, and this time, the rest of the group didn't think he was crazy.
"A horde of monsters stampeded through our villages, going to where you are going, beware of a powerful [Goblin], a being on par with you, beware, as there are many more." The girl said.
Harrian looked back and kept walking, his heart beating. Usually, he wouldn't be worried, but the fight with Aelor opened his eyes. An [Goblin] on par with his abilities, even the rest of the group shuddered, but one thing Harrian knew is that he made a promise to return.

Please share your thoughts about the story! Feedback and criticism is welcome, it'll help me improve my writing. "The final year of high school is the most difficult." This statement has never been truer for Damis, a student attending one of the many schools in the City of Sundridge. He never wanted anything more than to live a peaceful life, going so far as to avoid having large group of friends, indulging in dragged out conversations, or being involved in any other activity that requires him to invest a large amount of effort to accomplish. Instead, he poured all of his efforts into studying, dwelling in his internal monologues, and complaining about the things that annoy him to his one and only friend, Noah. Before long, he ended up as one of the best students in his class. As far as he was concerned, he was content with how he lived. But, after a confrontation with an eccentric girl named May, one of his classmates since the first year of high school, things have suddenly gotten out of hand. And as a result, his life became a lot more hectic than it used to be. Bound by a deal he could not refuse, his life as May's assistant began. At this rate, can he still spend the final days of his high school life in peace? Welcome to the life of Damis, the boy who's always A Step Behind Death. The cover art is made by friend of mine.
