《Sun Collector》Chapter #17 Hundred Year Dragon Wine

Didn't that mean I was super valuable?
"So does this mean I get a plot of land in the outpost?"
I asked hoping for more benefits.
"You could say your valuable or you could say your a used up cigarette now that you have no mana left and it took you two months to store up that mana."
I had read that all mana crafters generated there mana on-site and poured it into the box. Never had there been someone with the ability to store mana inside of there body.
I tried to walk out the door, but those infernal invisible chains wrapped around me again.
"Regardless we can't have someone with your ability to just die."
We walked back up to the first floor of the building. He ended up taking all the rings besides the sunscreen one.
He still seemed to be angry about that one. I found joy in the way his face turned green every time it was mentioned.
I didn't let anyone see it and equipped it before I walked out.
I heard a voice ring out in my head.
"My legendary ring allows me to control everything that goes on in this outpost to some degree. I will consult with Great elder about your case and we can discuss benefits in the future."
So that's were the chains came from huh.
I needed to test out my new ring as soon as I got home. I focused all of the mirrors onto one place and sat in front of the sunlight.
It didn't even feel warm.
That was a little bit sad but oh well. At least now I could generate mana at the same speed I had before without wrecking my body.
I didn't feel like eating I was full from the concentrated sunlight that had shown on me earlier.

There was a five on my arm. That should be enough to keep me feed for the rest of the night I thought.
Sleeps sweet embrace cradled me all night.
The next morning when I woke up the five on my arm were gone. I wasn't particularly hungry because the sun was shining on me again.
I missed the sensation of eating, I hadn't eaten anything for two full months.
They must provide food for crafters I thought to myself as I completed my routine and readied myself for the day.
As soon as I got to the door I looked down and saw an envelope that had been shoved under my door.
"Grand Elder says he gives his full support when it comes to feeding you, but there must be something you need so no land will be given to you until you are able to complete some of the outposts most needed ability rings. These will be given to you by the clerk who allowed you to borrow the mythic crafting ring."
Now that was a reward I thought to myself they must give nourishing meals here. After all the only things to eat are heartbeasts. I should be able to generate mana at an equal rate or faster then I did before.
I walked out and managed to find my way to the cafeteria.
There were three different lines, one was for taking home food the other was for dine-in and the third was for heartbeasts you caught yourself. The master chef would personally cook those.
It was kinda like an incentive for the warriors to do well. Afterall eating a nourishing meal once was good but eating them every day could really stack up to create a stronger physique.
Most abilities weren't mana based but were instead based on the body so this could be considered a major benefit.

I got food from the dine-in line, the menu read ten-year-old forest dear, five-year-old asparagus, and 10-year-old berries.
All of these would help one build a strong body foundation. The stronger one's bodily foundation the more ability rings they could have.
But that went without saying that even if one had a hundred ability rings without the mana to use them they were pretty much worthless.
Although there were warriors that invested only in rings that strengthed the body and didn't ever use mana. It took a genius to follow that path I knew that much.
I munched down on the food it was as filling as normal food but I could feel the mana in my body circulating and strengthing myself.
I left the cafeteria and went around the outpost looking at buildings.
I decided that each day I would go to a different building and find out their uses.
The first place I walked to was a vineyard the vines looked like they were alive. When I went inside it looked like a tavern, now this was a good first stop.
I could pick up information and speak to the ladies.
I walked up and ordered the most expensive thing on the menu. After all grand elder said he would support all of my food and beverage needs.
"Sir, here is your hundred-year-old dragon wine."
A beautiful waitress said to me with a smile.
