《Sun Collector》Chapter #24 Flash Step

The note read salad of 100 flavors.
And it had the passive ability to increase mana generation.
With this, I would be able to reach 600 mana in two days if I stayed in the sunlight for most of the day.
That's what I did the next day's meal was just a body nourishing one.
The effects of the salad were better than expected and I was able to understand how important food was.
It was no wonder the families on the sand bar were able to stay in power the effects of good food were cumulative and not additive.
Although all of my meals were of a hundred years of age I had only had one meal that was a thousand years and it was the oxen. And that didn't even have a good effect.
I decided to leave my room and go out to explore the compound again today. Staying in my room was beneficial but it got dreary.
The next day I went to have a discussion with the abilities ring clerk.
"Good day"
"Good day sun collector I wonder what you have come here for."
"I was mostly just getting bored sitting in my room. I want to go explore the forest as everybody else does."
"Let me guess they won't let you leave the outpost because you too valuable? They should know the drawbacks of trying to grow a flower in a greenhouse."
I didn't exactly get his metaphor but I could empathize with the sentiment.
"I'm tired of just sitting in my room I need a reason to go out."
I said while resting my head on my hand and staring at the wall of ability rings.
"In that case, I have something interesting to tell you. Did you know that there is part of the forest in the outpost that they let grow naturally for training newbies?"

No, I didn't know that the amount of space inside the outpost was huge compared to the number of residents. There were just too few people that made it to the outpost alive and people died in the forest on gathering missions all the time.
"I'm gonna go check it out" I whispered to the clerk in a hushed tone.
"Do be careful there have been known to be newborn heartbeasts that are born there."
"I'm stronger then the new recruits and if they can train there then I should be just fine."
"Okay, best of luck sun collector"
I didn't go too that part of the outpost yet I picked up my meal and went back to my room. Upgrading the elder's ability was more important right now.
My meal was another one that gave a mana generation buff.
I had been getting a lot of those recently maybe grand elder had just decided that I was strong enough for now and making ability rings took precedent?
Anyway, I stayed in my room only leaving to pick up my meals for an entire week.
I had stored up enough mana it was now time to put my plan into action.
I walked out of my room and headed towards the crafting room.
"Hey clerk, can you call the grand elder here?"
"Yes, I can he seems to not have entered the forest too deeply. He will be here in 30 minutes. I spent my time examining the various ability rings on the wall.
"Sun collector you have exceeded my expectations your already ready to craft another set of rings?"
"Yes I am and I have an interesting theory to test out this time."
"Alright, today is a day for a celebration your theories always bring entertainment into this old one's life."

"Not all of my ideas are beneficial to you," I said in a sarcastic tone.
"That's true but if you truly weren't serious about crafting I know that you would have invited cannon man instead of me. You like to torment him for some reason."
If you were chained up you would want to mess around too. I thought to myself I decided to keep that thought in my head. We made our way into the beast vault.
I found the scale of a thousand-year-old serpent and a hundred-year-old frog leg.
These would be perfect for what I was about to do.
I put the frog leg in the chest and envisioned making an ability ring more effective.
I had 1300 or so mana so I could test some things out. I reached in and grabbed out the ring.
Before grand elder could see it I tucked it away. He gave me a glance but didn't say anything.
Next, I put the snake scale in the chest and envisioned the instantaneous movement of a snake. I poured a thousand mana into the chest and then lifted the lid.
I knew that my plan was going to be a success.
I turned to face grand elder, I know you said not to make any more legendary ability rings.
But as thanks for the meals you have been providing me, I decided to gamble on you.

Our Goddess

Live by the Sword
--Follow a bandit prone to making poor choices in life. He lives in a somewhat medieval age where steel is king, blood is shed fairly lightly, and weakness gets you punished fast. But that's okay. As long as he has his sword, he'll be fine. Right? --This story is tragic and contains some depictions of violence and nudity. The attitudes of the characters don't represent my views and some of them are highly questionable. Due to these reasons, I've flagged the story as adult content. --I've been working on Live by the Sword since as far back as 2012 and it is my first actual effort at completing a book. Maybe I'll stick with it and there will be paperbacks of it some day. Who knows. Either way, I hope the words I tell give you amusement and perhaps some cause to think. Cheers.

Naturally, it features very overpowered characters with a lot of high stakes battles roaming across the cosmos. Warning: Swearing, some suggestive sexual gestures/words, gore. Feedback is highly welcomed. (The story was originally named, God's Return, but I wanted to change it.)
