《Sun Collector》Chapter #41 Fishing

I let her head rest on my chest as I listened to the bard sing on into the night. She still sparkled so much that I was the most special person in the room. An ability ring for this feeling was worth it to me.
Eventually, everyone left the bar for the night and it was just me. A male bartender came over and said he would take care of lauren tonight. While still asleep he lifted her and carried her upstairs to her room.
With her gone, there was no reason for me to stay so I stumbled out of the bar and made my way home to my bed it had been a nice night I thought to myself as I drifted of to sleep.
The next day when I awoke I decided to sit outside in the sun and watch grand elder loot. With a flip on of my glasses I saw rose using her shadow clone to throw fruit down from a tree while grand elder kept watch. It looked to be hundred year old fruit.
I noticed grand elder see a heartbeast coming and they both fled as quickly as possible. Rose didnt leave her shadow clone in the tree it just vanished. Apparently, that was something she could do.
Behind them, they heard a roar apparently that tree belonged to a heartbeast and it wanted to eat the fruits. Luckily they were far enough away that it didn't matter.
I took off the glasses and decided to go to the cafeteria. When I got there I noticed that everyone was eating starfruit grand elder had given that food out to the whole cafeteria for free. I went up to the chef and asked for my food. I was given a bunch of sliced star fruit. I went to sit down next to the looter squad. They were happily eating the same thing as me.

The woman of the squad spoke to me and said "Thanks to you we've been having so much success. We are able to get 10 year fruits every time we go out. We dont venture that far from the outpost so the only thing we run into is 10 year heartbeasts."
Thats good I thought to myself. "Are you happy eating the star fruit?" she made eye contact with me and then responded "of course we are"
I bit into one of them and the taste was delicious. My skin felt war with each bite. Apparently, the star fruits benefit was strengthing the skin of the one who ate it.
After a brief discussion with the looter squad, I decided to go home and I spent the rest of my day gaining mana from the sun.
The next day I had a hundred mana and I decided to explore the outpost. With a walk down the main street, I saw shops and a marketplace where people were exchanging heart beasts and plant life.
It was interesting for me even though I didn't have any money or things to trade. There was a blacksmithing shop that was huge. I went inside and looked around. Apparently, this shop was for modifying soul rings to people's wishes. Even though doing that lost some of the potential of the ability rings. The head blacksmith was rumored to be able to make mutant soul rings out of normal ones. That was something I wished to see.
"Do you know where the head blacksmith is" I asked the person behind the desk at the forging building.
"No hes not taking requests right now" She responded.
"Thanks anyway," I said.
With a turn, I walked out and passed back through the marketplace, and made my way home. With starfruit being my meal again. I ate it and the cultivated mana before going to bed. And then I fell asleep.

The next day I had 250 mana after checking the number I put on the glasses and watched grand elder and rose.
They were just leaving the wall when my glasses turned on. I couldn't help but notice that rose was keeping up with grand elders speed more easily apparently she had grown stronger. They made their way to the same meadow and grand elder only watched this time as roses shadow clone ran out and gathered 10 year friuts. But before grand elder could make his way up the hill a creature pounced on roses shadow clone. It was a hundred year old saber tooth cat with red streaks of fur.
They both turned around and left the meadow as soon as they saw this. When they got far enough away they turned and headed in the direction of a lake. This was a dangerous area but fish could be caught that were a hundred year old. With a safe spot found grand elder cast out fishing line with a pole and decided to wait. Rose not being as fast as grand elder let her shadow clone do it while hiding back in the bushes.
The fishing got boring right as I was about to take the glasses of grand elder felt a pull on the line and reeled in a hundred year old fish. It had bright scales was about the size that could fit in your hand and was blue.
It seemed to me like they were off to a great start. I decided I was going to find out if there were any nice places to visit like the winery and the bar.
With a happy walk out of my home, I decided to see what the world had in store for me. The bar was where I should go to get information like that I thought to myself as I headed to the bar. As soon as I entered Lauren saw me and immediately walked over and offered me a free drink. She wasn't wearing anything shiny today so she didn't look like a bolt of lighting.
Were are the fun places to go in the outpost I asked her.

Just a Game
“A great corruption is spreading. The people cry out for a savior. For a hero. For YOU! Come join the fight, as the chosen of World Tree! Receive the blessings of the gods, battle fierce monsters, and become the hero you were meant to be, in Arcanum Online!” It was the cheesiest commercial Ethan had ever heard, but the gameplay was enough to draw him - and thousands of others - to the fantasy world of Lazuros. It’s the sort of place that can really draw you in - a huge open world, a deep character customization system, and a feature that makes time pass slower inside the game, extending your limited playtime! It was a little strange, though. As if it was a bit too realistic for a game of swords and sorcery. The NPC’s seemed almost alive, most quests didn’t reset and monsters respawned slowly. Still, for all it’s quirks, it was a good game! Just a game. And nothing more. …right?

Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again. This is a rewrite of a previously started fiction under a pen-name. Chapters will be updated every two days at 6:00 EST.
