Four shadows were seen running in the night or heard more like it. The three chasing the other shadows were guards of the Lanock Kingdoms home of the beast men and women.
The kingdom has many types of beast men from wolves, dogs, cats, bears, and foxes there was quite a variety of people. But there was one odd man out and that would be the human that they call dark who also happens to be the young man running away from the guards.
He first came to the town from nightmare forest where no one has ever gone in or out of without being driven insane, and yet this 9 year old boy did. But that was 7 years ago and after questioning him they found he had no memories of who he was or what his name is so they named him dark because of his appearance.
Dark has hair as black as night, Snow White skin, and cold violet eyes that almost seem to glow in the dark or look at your very soul. "But that is enough of describing him and the past".
Dark was ring from the guards because he likes pulling pranks on people and pouring ice cold water on sleeping guards doesn't really make anyone happy so back to the chase.
Guard 1: STOP THERE YOU SHITTY BRAT SO I MAY BEAT YOU WITH MY CLUB!
Guard 2: (when I catch that kid I will beat him black and blue).
Guard 3: this is fun I've never been in a chase before!
Guard 1&2: .......why is this guy even here.
Sense they weren't paying any attention to dark he was able run into an alley and up the side of a building safely escaping the guards without being seen.
Guard 1,2,&3: huh where did he go?

As dark watched the guards give up the search and return to their posts he began to laugh.
Hahahahaha those fools never should have slept on the job. As he was laughing he looked to the sky and said Ah it's getting pretty dark out I should head back home.
So he walked to out of the city and into the forest where his treehouse that he made 6 years ago stood. After a few years he made a fireplace, bathroom, and a kitchen. When he first came here some of the villagers threw in some money and got him a magic tub that keeps water warm a toilet that always stayes clean and a fridge.
As he laid in bed and thought over the days events he remembered that tommorow was the the adventurers tournament which happens every 10 years with an entry age of 16 or older. As he thought of this he went to sleep.

I would consider it a part of the GameLit subgenre. This series in particular is not an isekai, and will start and end in a high fantasy setting complete with its own lore and backstory. It is a progression fantasy, and I am writing it inspired by all the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas/animes, and all the hours I've invested/wasted (depending on who you ask) playing TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a work in progress. In your journey through Stormwall alongside Tay, you'll probably find typos, grammatical errors, and maybe a confusing sentence every once in a while (although I hope to keep these to a minimum). That said, comments and suggestions on where I can improve are not only encouraged but greatly appreciated. She was born on Earth, but she moved to Heaven when she was physically 5 years old and didn’t return until she was 18 years old. She was tasked, by God himself, to guard over the Forbidden Tree which had since been replanted on an isolated island on Earth. She loves that job, and she loves that she was given direct instructions instead of having to figure out what God’s so-called ‘mysterious plans’ for her was. Centuries went by. Tallitanya is 21 years old when the Final Judgement is nigh. As an immortal who has yet to have a real affiliation with Heaven or Hell, Tallitanya has received a personal invitation from the Antichrist who wishes to recruit Tallitanya. Heaven also sends its angel – Michael – to inform Tallitanya that as a human, her soul would also be judged by God. She was ordered to leave her post as the Forbidden Tree’s guardian so that she could get to know the other humans before she makes an actual decision about who she wants to align herself with.
