《Offworld》Enemy at the Doorstep 3

I suddenly had a very bad feeling.
*Bang*
I used my new movement technique, Water Art: Geyser Step to it's full potential leaving the guard shocked.
*Bang* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang*
I sped up with every step I took and in less than 30 seconds I was out of the City Hall but I didn't stop using the technique and continued to rapidly move ,this time hopping from one roof to another.
*Bang* *Bang*
'This is not good at all. If what I'm thinking is right then the worst place to be right now is the mansion.
I hope that Girg has gathered everyone and let long ago.'
If the translation of the guard was correct then the mirror was bad news. Taking into consideration the way that the creatures of the plane of Mono entered this one the possibility of them using the same trick again was very plausible.
The disappearance of the previous mansions owner, the mirror that the bought right before he disappeared and the word 'gate' that was carved to the back of it...
This whole thing was planned since long ago.
*Bulge* *Bulge*
Veins started showing on my forehead and I was clenching my jaw so hard that I wasn't surprised if I lost a tooth.
I was very mad ,mad at Faley. He had sold me that mansion and instead of it being a safe haven for me , Munnji and the other people around me it was completely the opposite.
*Bang* *Bang*
......
20 minutes earlier.
"Is everything ready?"
"Yes everything is set but why the sudden order to move to the city?"
"I don't know but there must be a very good one."
The one who spoke was Girg who had gathered all the staff and was about to leave.
'I hope that master Nick returns as soon as possible because I'm having a bad feeling.'

"Move out."
.....
*Clop* *Clop* *Clop*
The sound of the horse's hovess that were dragging three carriages was the only thing that was heard. The song of birds was not heard anymore, the buzzing of insects was missing.
The silence was chilling.
At the first carriage was an old man at the coachmen's seat driving the carriage. He had a solemn look on his face and his eyes darted everywhere trying to look for something.
'The feeling of unease is becoming even stronger.'
He turned his head back and yelled.
"Hold on we are going to spread up.
Hiaaaa hiaaaaa....
As the carriages sped up a lone figure was standing at the top of the first one undisturbed by the rocking of the carriage.
He was Munnji.
He had set his sight somewhere at the horizon. If someone looked at the direction his gaze was set upon from a bird's eye view he would find that the Hunter mansion was straight ahead.
.....
When the carriages were 3 km from the city gate.
"Girg , stop the carriage at once!"
*Skid*
The carriages stoped violently and Girg turned to look at Munnji with an angered look.
"Why did you tell us to stop? We are just a breath away from the city."
"It's to late right now. We have to prepare for battle."
"What? Battle?
Who are we fighting?"
Munnji started to gather earth elemental energy and coated his body completely.
"We are about to find out."
*Bang* *rumble*
The sky blacked and the earth shook. At that moment it seemed like the time of the entire world had stopped.
This thing lasted for only the fraction of a second but the nerves of Munnji and co were more raised.
What they saw after the sudden blackening of the sky was even more terrifying. Swarms and swarms of flying monsters were floating in the sky.

Their huge number cast a grim shadow upon the earth but also upon the hearts of the humans who witnessed such a thing.
"What are those things?"
"Huh, what...
"Kyaaaaaa...
All the people who witnessed it had fear plastered on their faces.
*Whoshhh*
"Watch out !"
Munnji yelled as a ripple of dark energy spread toward all directions.
"Nggggg...
He put a barrier consisting of pure earth elemental energy around the carriage where he , Rosela ,Naga and Girg were.
The pulse passed their carriage without a problem but the other two carriages were not so lucky.
*Neighhhh*
The horses gave a pained neigh before falling to the ground , dead .
Girg pupils shrunk to the size of a needle head.
"This...
"It's not over yet, the real enemy is approaching.
Hey what are you wanting for? Take us to the city gates now!"
Girg came to his senses.
"Hiaaaa, hiaaaaaaa
*Neighh*
The horses found new wind and the speed up again toward the city gates.
The horses were going at full speed ahead but it was no enough. The flying monsters were on their tail already.
"Hiaaaaa, hiaaaaaaa
Girg pushed the horses as hard as he could but it was no enough .
*Screeeee*
One of the flying monsters swooped down on the moving carriage but Munnji was prepared.
He had on his hand two small stones but two small stones were all he needed.
'Earth Art :Stone Bullet.'
*Psshh* *pshh*
The two stones hit the creature , one hitting it's right wing and the other it's face.
*Scree..
*Bam*
The creature fell down on the ground but two similar one's showed up imediately.
*Screeeee* *Screeeee*
The two creatures dived down at the same time one aiming for the horse and the other aiming for Munnji.
This strategy made that even if one of them failed the other would suced.
Munnji saw right through their tactics but was not worried.
[You finally arrived.]
He gathered again elemental energy and compressed it into another small rock he had on his hand , in this way raising the rocks hardness and threw it towards the one who was attacking him.
*Phew*
The rock passed straight through the creatures head but the other one was almost at the horse's throat when he was suddenly bisected in two by a water sword.

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

Return of Chaos
For the longest time, it was thought that the citizens of Earth were the only denizens of the galaxy incapable of developing superhuman abilities — but recent events have flipped that assumption on its head. Between Austin Travis, Mote Emerson, Pierce Bradley, and their friends, Earth is now host to 12 Chaotics… as well as a myriad of mysteries surrounding them. From a new nemesis in the form of a clone, to connections to ancient technology from a long-lost civilization, to the ability to summon powerful legendary weapons, these 12 Chaotics have unknowingly become entangled in something larger than any of them have ever imagined. As if in response to these discoveries, the sinister machinations of galactic evil are churning. The metallic infection, a calamitous nanotechnology “disease” thought to have been vanquished 20 years ago, is slowly returning — and alongside it, a number of conflicts thought to be long past. While they only seek to better grasp their own abilities, Earth’s Chaotics will soon find themselves in the crossfire of returning threats and old heroes. These superpowered Earthians may not have chosen this path through life, but it will still be up to them to determine if history remembers them — to determine if history remembers the saga of the Keys. Return of Chaos is a direct sequel to Chosen Chaos, which begins the Key Saga novel series. Be sure to read Chosen Chaos first, to understand the plot and the characters thus far! Additionally, the Key Saga as a whole takes place 20 years after Rise. You will not need to read Rise to understand the events of Return of Chaos, however the latter will spoil many of the events that occurred in Rise, due to the simple chronology of taking place later in the timeline.
