"What..... happened?"
The three dark skinned midgets looked at the corpses in confusion.
*tap*
"Huh?"
The three of them heard a sound from behind them and immediately turned around.
It was a human.
"It's a human?"
"No no it's definitely not a human. Look at his crazy bloodshot eyes. He's definitely some type of the undead created by the general’s right hand man, Kafka."
The human stared at them talking to themselves.
"What are you talking about?"
*Shiver*
'He is a human!'
"Back...
"Battle formation....
The midgets immediately grouped together and raised their circular wooded shields.
"Oh!
You want to fight?
Come on then."
The human before them was only holding a long spear and no other weapon on him.
"We are going with attack pattern 2. I will rush him head on with my shield and he will attack me. I will take the attack with my shield while one of you flanks him from the right while the other stays two steps behind me. As soon as his attack lands on me you two will attack him at the same time.
Don't give him the chance to retreat or make another attack.
Ready, go."
*tap* *tap* *tap* *tap* *tap*
The midgets rushed towards the human figure in the previous formation they had discussed. Two of them attacked head on while the other flanked the human.
"Kiaaaakkkk....
The black skinned midget in the front gave a battle cry to try intimidating his opponent but he seemed not moved at all, he even seemed..... bored!?"
*Yawn*
The human raised his spear and did a sideways slash.
"Water Art: Wave Slicer”
*Pshhhh*
*Thud*
"Huh....why am I on the ground?
Why am I so...sleepy....?
*Silence*
"Kiak?"
The black skinned midget who was attacking the human from the side stoped in his tracks, horrified. The human had just cut the two of them like he was cutting down grass. He didn't even make an effort.

' I have to escape. '
*tap* *tap*
*Rattle*
'Shiiiiit...
As he was retreating he unconsciously knocked the metal helmet of a dead human soldier.
‘Run!
If I don't run I'll definitely be killed’
*Tap Tap Tap Tap Tap Tap*
A so the black skinned midget ran for his life.
'Huh?'
As he was running he started to notice something. The world around him seemed to be going slower than usual. This didn't seem out of place to him but definitely strange.
Even the sounds in the background seemed to have been almost completely muted, like he had cotton on his ears making the sounds seem unrecognizable, like they were coming from next door.
‘He continued to run in this state and the safest place for him to be was the edge of the wall where most of his allies were.'
*Tap Tap*
His heartbeat seemed to ring on his ears and his mouth was dry as the desert.
"Has, haa...
‘I’m almost there...
The remaining midget was finally amidst his allies. Tens of new compatriots had come.
‘I’m safeeee...
*Bang*
*Whoosh*
A loud bang was heard and a mixture of gravel and dust hit him in the face.
"Kiaaaaak....it hurts."
The gravel had been moving so fast that it had become dangerous. His face was bruised and his nose crooked and bleeding.
‘What happened?
What is going on?
Did I do anything wrong to have angered the Dark Lord?'
The midget was angry. He had just escaped that terrible human and this happening. He was a devout believer of the Dark Lord and before he left for war he had prayed day and night for victory in war and a plentiful bounty. He even sacrificed one of his cattle to the Dark Lord even though his friends made fun of him for wasting such a precious thing.

Well it didn't matter anymore because they were already dead.
"Kiaaaaa....
*Whoosh*
Right then a strong gust of wind blew the dust away and in front of him appeared a tall figure. The figure was with his back to him but that was enough for him. He knew who it was even though his vision was blurry.
It was the despicable human that killed his comrades.
*Turn*
The human turned towards him and the scenery in front was revealed. More than ten corpses of mangled black skinned midgets littered the ground. The corpses were riddled with holes of different sizes that leaked blood.
*Tap* *Tap*
The human started walking to him.
' NO NO NO.'
*Shiver*
His whole body was shivering and he had lost control of his limbs. He just stayed there, waiting for him to arrive.
“Please Great Lord that rules life and death. Please protect this unworthy work from harm. Please, ukkk....
His prayers were cut short by ha had that wrapped around his neck, preventing him from speaking.
The hand brought him up and he was face to face with the human but to him he was nothing but a monster.
"Hey do you understand me?"
The human blurted something he didn't understand.
"You don't? Well no matter.
Huh what's this?"
He reached his other hand and took a small carved wooden statue that the midget had hanging on his chest. It was the carving of a devilish humanoid with the face of a dragon, the upper body of a human, the legs of a goat, the hands of a skeleton and big wings on his back.
"Were you praying?
Hahahahahaha...
Don't tell me you think that this is going to save you."
*Smile*
The human smiled but the midget was more afraid than ever. The humans gaze was devilish. His eyes were bloodshot and his mouth seemed like it would suck his soul out of his body.
"Listen here.
It's useless to pray to your god here because...
This is your help and I'm the devil."
*ClackClackClackClackClackClackClack*
The sound of teeth clattering against each other sounded non-stop.

I'll be posting chapters from that one in the coming months (with any luck). If you enjoyed this novel please leave a review as I'm always eager to read a critique of my work to improve my writing. - Best regards in these trying times, M.I. O'Flaherty

Re-Ordaining of the Chosen
Alea cheerfully hummed as she descended the steps, brimming in upbeat while her colleague, Quarren Leos, shot her a look of skepticism. “So… were you right about him?” he asked doubtfully. She came to a stop for a moment, her humming falling silent before she shook her head, waving her medium length light-blonde hair from side to side. “I was wrong about him.” Quarren raised an eyebrow in confusion at the convoluted response.“But you seem quite happy?” he asked again. “Because I am. But I was wrong about him. He was… so much more than I ever expected.” Alea looked at the sky overhead with a smile. “That boy… no, that man, is amazing. I firmly believe he will come to stand on top of any adversary he faces. He is destined. He is Chosen.” Quarren snorted as he stepped past, shaking his head. “Okay. Each to their own beliefs but you’re sounding like a nutjob. That skinny twig? Everyone calls him a cripple, you know,” he shook his head.“Rumours are always false, Leos,” Alea answered with a disapproving shake of her head. “You wouldn’t know. He is so, so much more.” “I saw him with my own two eyes. I didn’t see anything redeeming,” Quarren rebutted. “Well…” Alea chuckled. “You haven’t seen what I’ve seen.” In the year 917 of the Imperial Calendar, the Great War had just ended between dozens of nations. Farrien welcomed home millions of troops and warriors with the Archdukes of Aerianne and Kanaria leading them at the forefront. Since the founding of Farrien, the Aerianne and Kanarian Archduchies have been pillars upholding the Kingdom from enemies. It was common belief that they possessed special blood blessed by the Goddess Stecia, who gifted the lineage to the first King of Farrien when he first founded the country. All were ecstatic when the current generation of the two Archduchy's, after the war, agreed to let their children wed. The excitement was short-lived however when the Aerianne Princess proved to be a dragoness among men but the Kanarian Prince was worse than even mediocre. The Prince disappeared and the wedding was shortly forgotten as society lived on. Until one day the Young Heir of Kanaria returned to Farrien a changed man, bringing demise with him. Follow the story of the Chosen ordained by the Goddess of Time as he returns to the past to right his wrongs and set things back straight again!
