Chapter 31. Shelly sighed
Shelly sighed when she heard his response. Shelly had told Samuel and Angel about what happened when you meditate before hitting puberty and what it means if Arthur could meditate earlier. However, from the looks of it, it seemed like they had never told him.
Shelly shook her head her and continued “If you meditate before hitting puberty, your internal energy grows stronger inside of you.” Arthur gave her a confused look. Shelly paused thinking about how to properly word it for Arthur. “I have an amazing memory and eye power because I meditated early.”
Arthur’s eye completely brightened in understanding as he began to listen attentively. “Young master Arthur, if you want to become strong enough to protect everyone, you’ll have to meditate starting now.”
Arthur nodded his head, however a confused look sprawled on his face as he asked “but, how?” Shelly couldn’t answer him when it comes to meditating, to her mediation was something she had done ever since she could remember. It was a way for her to forget the world around her. She couldn’t tell him that.
“You just close your eyes and try to imagine the energy that is hidden within you, after that try to control it.” Julie answered after seeing Shelly’s stumped expression, it should’ve been easy for Shelly to say that. Shelly glanced at Julie and inwardly thank her for explaining it to Arthur. Julie returned with a smile and gave her a knowing wink.
“How do you know if what you’re imagining is not an imagination but the real thing?” Arthur asked.
Um, you’ll feel it flowing through you?” Julie didn’t properly answer as she could only look at Shelly. Shelly nodded her head. Julie saw that Shelly didn’t want to talk and continued “Once you know how to control it, try to use it to cover your entire body, once that happens just keep trying to make it denser around yourself.”
What Julie had said was like what Cobble had done during the training. He only used his energy externally as a thin barrier to absorb and repel their attacks, his actual defensive powers much more than just that.
Michael was staring at Julie with rapt attention, he was keeping a mental note of everything she had said. “And then and then?” Arthur asked.
“That’s all I know, it’s what I did.” Julie replied.
“Boss?”
“Nope” Looking at the dejected look on Arthur’s face, Boss continued “What Julie and Shelly had said is enough for now.” With that he disappeared.
“Practice! ~” Boss childish voice reverberated within the room. “Where did he go?” Arthur asked. However, everyone shrugged their shoulders and shook their head in response.
After Boss had disappeared Julie and Shelly stayed for a short moment longer giving Arthur some more tips before walking back to their room.
Knock knock
“Hm? Did you call for anyone Mason?”
“No Riley, did you guys?”
“Nope” A guy fixed his glasses in response.
“W-Wasn’t me.”
“Why would I? Sampson go get the door” The scar faced Seth told his friend.
“Who-who is it?” Sampson whispered through the door. A childish voice could be heard from the other end. “It’s me!”
Everyone within the room heard the childish voice and got up and walked over to the door. “Sh-should I open it?” Sampson asked. Seth rolled his eyes and opened the door only to see brown haired kid with sunglasses on.

“Who’s this little brat?” Seth spoke his mind and looked down at the kid. “What’re you doing here kid?”
The little kid looked up at the guys who were staring at him and pushed his way through. “Excuse me, excuse me.” He squeezed into the room to everyone’s weird look.
“What are you doing?” Seth repeated watching the kid intrude into their room. “Oh nothing…” The little brown-haired kid continued to walk around until he saw what he was looking for, it was a little black bag. “H-hey! Take your hands off that bag” Seth roared when he saw the kid pick up the bag.
The kid hid the bag behind his back and replied, “What bag?” Seth angrily rushed over and grabbed the bag behind the kid pulling the kid up in the process.
“H-hey let me go!” The kid shouted. “Drop the bag!” Seth shouted in response; he was about ready to just throw this kid out.
“No!” The kid kicked Seth in the gut causing him to crumble onto the ground releasing his hold of the bag. “Guys!?” Seth shouted; his friends were just standing there watching him.
Sampson ran over and lunged at the kid trying to grab the bag in his hands. However, the kid hopped over Sampson’s lunging body causing him to crash into Seth.
Mason saw the kid’s movement and felt something was off. He motioned Riley to guard the door as he walked forward. The kid paused and looked at the magenta eye 20 something year old before him, the kid let out a smile and darted past him.
A strong pulling force succumbed the boy as he tried to hold onto the bag that was being tugged away from him. “Let go!” The boy shouted, however Mason paid him no mind and continued to exert pressure.
“Fine!” The kid released the bag causing the bag to fly to the opposite side crashing onto the wall. The boy immediately ran over and gave Mason a kick in the shin when he was distracted by the bag.
“Ow, ow, ow” Mason hopped on one leg. The kid then pushed Mason with both arms causing him to fall on the floor. Gerald rushed past the boy the moment he was distracted by it grabbing the bag in the process. “That’s mine!” The boy shouted.
“What’re you talking about kid? This bag is ours.” Gerald replied causing the boy to look at him with a confused look. “But that’s my bag my stuff is inside.”
“What’s inside this bag?” Gerald asked, he felt like it was a reasonable question. “I won’t tell you; you bag snatcher!” The kid ran over and aimed to kick the guy in the shin. However, knowing the kid was going for another kick he dodged to the side causing the kid to run past him.
The kid immediately did a low spinning side sweep at the back of Gerald’s back leg after missing his shin kick. Gerald didn’t expect the kick and fell over with a thud as he laid face up.
The kid immediately snatched the bag and rushed past by Gerald. Sampson who got up from the floor a moment earlier was immediately kicked by the kid and fell right back on top of Seth.

“Ge-get off of me!” Seth shouted, pushing Sampson away. The kid paid Seth no mind and rushed towards the door that was being guarded by Riley. “Move!” The kid shouted, however Riley stayed motionless as he stared at the kid.
“Please c’mon man, move I needa get out of here. I need to pee...” The kid begged Riley however Riley stood still guarding the door. Seth angrily walked over and snatched the kid up by the collar and tossed him on the ground.
The kid and the bag separated from each other as Seth picked up the bag while cautiously staring at the kid. “You freakin’ dumbass, this bag is ours.” Seth berated the kid. “See!” He opened the bag showing fine slices of meat. “Does this look like it’s yours?”
The kid stared at Seth with a look of disbelief. “Now do you believe that this bag isn’t yours?” The kid got up and nodded his head, tears welling up in his eyes. “Sorry mister, I thought it was mine.”
Seth realized that it was a mistake and walked over to help the kid out of the door. Riley moved aside as Seth slowly escorted him outside. “Sorry kid, I hope you find your bag” Seth apologized.
The kid turned around and beamed a smile “I found it!” He immediately pulled on the bag held loosely by Seth and ran away.
Seth was dumbfounded by the kid’s action and ran after him. “He-hey wait!” The kid ran a corner and disappeared from Seth’s view. Seth raced towards the corner only to see that the kid was completely gone.
“WHAT THE FUCK!” Seth roared.
Riley caught up to Seth only to see Seth fuming in anger with nothing in his hands. He sighed and patted Seth’s shaking back. The meat meant more for Seth than anyone else, he’s always been terrible at finding his inner energy that even meditation didn’t work at all for him.
“It’s fine, kid is most likely a guest of this hotel, we just have to ask an employee about the kid. He couldn’t have taken the meat and cooked it that fast.” Riley tried to console Seth. However, Seth shoved Riley’s arm away and slumped away to find an employee. Tears were visible in his eyes as he consistently wiped at his face.
“Wasn’t expecting that kid to be so emotional.” Boss whose back was stuck to the ceiling of the Inn glanced at the departing figure of Seth. He looked down at Riley who shook his head and walked back to his room.
“Eh, I was gonna use this for Arthur and them, but I guess it’ll have to wait.” Boss smushed the entirety of the meat within the bag to 2 tiny spherical balls the size of a marble.
“I’ll call it an energy marble.” Boss thought to himself as he looked at his creation. It was the condense energy formed by the entirety of the 3kg (6 pounds) of meat he had taken.
Riley immediately opened the door hoping it was Seth only to see it was the kid from before. “What is that you want kid?” Riley looked at the empty bag in the kid’s hand and sighed. He knew he wouldn’t get the meat back from the kid now.
“Here you go mister; I took my prank too far earlier.” Boss gave Riley two tiny ball of condensed energy created by crushing the 3kg of meat they had.
“What’s this?” Riley looked at the weird sphere in the kid’s hand not readily willing to accept it from him. “It’ll help with finding your internal energy.” Boss replied. “Why not just give us back the meat you stole?” Riley replied. Mason, Gerald and Sampson walked over noticing that Riley had been at the door for some time.
“I ate it already” Boss reply caused them to be flabbergasted, it hadn’t even been a minute since he disappeared can he tell a more convincing lie than that?
“Do you want it?” Boss showed everyone the mystical pair of balls and asked. Mason used his Telekinesis to snatch both of the balls to his hands to examine. “Theres a powerful energy source coming from these two.” Mason replied after closing his eyes to sense it.
“The boy is not lying.” Mason replied. Everyone turned to look at the boy who was at the door. However, the boy was nowhere to be found.
Seth walked back dejected. The employee he talked to said that they couldn’t disclose the identities of their guests to others without their consent. He spent a good amount raging at them. However, the moment they mentioned having their boss settle this Seth gave up. He remembered the woman who called him a wimp, there was no way she’d help him.
“Oh? You’re back Seth! What took you so long?” Gerald replied as Seth walked through the door.
“Shut up, I’m going to sleep.” Seth laid on the bed unwilling to hear their upcoming remarks. He’s already expecting them to blame him for losing the bag to kid. However, they didn’t say any of that.
Gerald continued, “The kid came back.” Seth immediately turned around to face them. “I don’t see any meat in your hands.” He replied.
“No, but he gave us this.” Mason pulled out two energy condensed marbles. “What’s that? Rocks? Pearls?” Seth replied with an irritated voice.
“The kid said it could help with finding your internal energy.” Mason paid no mind to Seth’s remarks. Seth turned his head around away from the group, he couldn’t believe his friends got scammed by the kid.
“It’s true, I sense a decent amount of energy from it, might be enough for you to even grasp it.” Seth looked at the marbles in Mason hand and reached for one. “He only gave us two?” Seth asked.
“Yeah.” Mason replied.
“I don’t want it. Give it to glasses and scaredy cat over there.”
“But Seth—”
“I SAID I DON’T WANT IT!” Seth closed his eyes and ignored his companions. Tears welled up in them, he lost the 3kg of meat that was split for the five of them, and in return the kid only gave them two marbles.
He couldn’t accept it, it was mostly his fault, he didn’t deserve it.

Forewarning regarding the start of the story. This story contains graphic descriptions of violence. The first few chapters of the book focus mostly on characters experiences and state of mind. The protagonist doesn't start off as a hero, he's distressed, confused, scared and struggling for survival. LitRPG elements are sprinkled throughout these chapters but aren't initially at the forefront of the story. If you're willing to persevere, the LitRPG elements and significant progression become more heavily intertwined with the story as they become more relevant. Thank you. *** What to expect *** This is a Fantasy Adventure LitRPG. There’s gore, swearing, bad jokes and lots of struggling. (I like to make the character earn his power.)Book 1: Covers the characters' experiences in becoming accustomed to this new reality. There are chapters that focus on survival and hardship. He starts with literally nothing, gradually he accumulates incredible power. He achieves his power through completing various trials and encounters in his journey to find out who he is, and what he wants in this world. There’s a focus on the mental state of the protagonist and an alternating pace of writing to allow character development to occur. The planned second book will kick off at a much faster pace with more action, focus on the system, and delving into the purposes of the Grand trial assigned to the main protagonist.I aim to deliver a world with Interesting characters, Monsters, Magic, Epic battles, Levelling, System interaction, Skill creation, Trials (Quests), Dungeons, Training and more. *** Release ****Chapters will be around 2000-3000+ words long, averaging 2.5k.
