Chapter 68. Oh I almost forgot
“Oh, I almost forgot.” Boss who was about to walk to the Festival grounds teleported to the back of Gran’s estate where all the cattle resided.
“I’m gonna borrow these two for tonight.” Boss quickly grabbed Barkie in his palms and informed the enormous muscular livestock around it. Every single animal was startled by Boss who had shown up out of nowhere before their eyes and instantly grabbed their leader. They were about to rush at him and attack before they realized who it was that had shown up to take their leaders away and stopped their attack.
“Bark bark!” Where are you taking me!? A tiny golden labradoodle puppy barked in anger. It was struggling to claw its way from the grasp of the hand of the little boy before it.
“You two are having too much fun back here. However, tonight I need you two to come with me to the Festival grounds, don’t you want to see how your masters does on stage?
“Bark!” No! Let go! My men must be better than that damn creature’s!
“Uh huh, sounds, good. What about you, Silver?” Silver motioned the cow it was resting on over to Boss and hopped onto his shoulder.
“Mew.” It responded and smirked at the labradoodle who was barking objections at Boss.
“Alright, cool let’s go!” Boss with the angry puppy shuffling in his hands and a kitty perched on his shoulder slowly walked out of the entrance of where the livestock were residing.
“Bark Bark! Grr! Bark!” Damn you! Grr, Everyone, don’t stop training when I’m gone!
Every cattle on Barkie’s team immediately bowed their head in submission and waited for their leader to leave.
“Mew.” Silver also directed its commands to those of its factions. Tears welled up in the cattle’s eyes as they bowed to their leader.
“Look at your friends, they’re saying goodbye. Say goodbye Barkie, you can play with them again tomorrow.” Boss held Barkie up and waved one of its paws at the cattle who had bowed to it.
“Bark!” Let me go! This is so embarrassing!!!
“Mhm~ Oh right you like to be on people’s head.” Boss carefully placed Barkie on his head. “Don’t hop off or Arthur is getting a new puppy.”
The puppy completely froze in place after hearing Boss’ casual comment. As an animal with incredible instinct it couldn’t sense any killing intent coming from the boy beneath it. However, every single fiber of its being was screaming to not disobey.
“Hm? Why’re you so stiff? Relax~, you two can’t just be with your friends all day, we’re going to Asmar in a few days so you gotta have as much fun here as you can before you go.” Boss stated calmly as he walked with the pets through the empty village. Every villager had already left for the Festival grounds.
The moment those three left, Barkie’s faction slowly stood back up and angrily stared at Silver’s faction who had done the same. Everyone from Silver’s faction was smirking at Barkie’s.
“Moo!” No fair, how come you guys get a break!? A cow from Barkie’s faction exclaimed.
“Moo~” You should’ve joined us in the beginning~ A cow from Silver’s faction responded.

“Bok?” Is it too late to change teams? A chicken from Barkie’s faction asked.
“Neigh!” Yes! A horse from Silver’s faction exclaimed.
“Neigh Neigh~” “Go go train or else I’ll tell your leader you guys disobeyed~ it continued to say.
Barkie’s faction angrily grumbled to themselves and quickly returned to training.
“Neigh hei hei~” Hahaha~
…
“Haha, be good and let’s go have fun tonight. Remember, you’ve gotta become stronger than your masters in order to protect them in the future.”
“Bark bark!” I’m already stronger than them!
“That’s right you are, but you two cannot slack. I am their bodyguard, but they are your masters, what use are you if your masters die?” Boss’ calm voice caused both the pets to tremble uncontrollably.
“Hm? Why’re you both trembling? Gotta pee or something?” Boss asked as he quickly disappeared from the streets and reappearing before the entrance of the Festival grounds. The pets’ trembling stopped the moment Boss reappeared before the entrance.
“Oh? That smells pretty good! Let’s go!” Boss cheerfully exclaimed and ran through the entrance.
The Festival ground was completely packed with the entirety of the village and people from neighboring towns and villages that was interested. Everywhere one looked there were parents and kids walking around conversing and forming connections with the villagers and their kids.
The first thing one would see upon entering was an enormous stage at the center made out of mountain slabs neatly cut into a perfect square platform. Around stage was nearly two hundred stone benches circling the entirety of it for friends, family, and anyone else to sit and watch the children and young adults perform and demonstrate what they’ve learned the past year of schooling.
Further north were stalls filled with people standing around ordering and waiting for their food to be prepared. A little over to the right of the stalls were the vendors selling souvenirs.
The enormous fire grill used for the feast was lit once again, this time grilling the meat and vegetables that had arrived. People gathered from all over to sit around it and relax conversing with those beside them. The biggest topic was the rumored prophecy by all the people possible throughout the world about the demon and angelic baby.
Currently a little boy with two pets was slowly eating before the grill.
“Boss!” Arthur waved at the boy who was stuffing himself. Boss lifted up his gaze at the boy who was waving at him and returned it with his own greasy hands. Immediately after he returned back to putting cooked meat and vegetables down his throat. The two pets beside him were eating glistening cubes of raw meat no one remembered seeing being placed upon the grill completely absorbed in their own world as they munched.
“Boss!” Arthur exclaimed again after running up to Boss. He continued “Barkie is here too! Are you excited to see me?” The little puppy heard its name being called and looked up from finishing the last bite of the cubes of raw meat Boss gave to it. The puppy indifferently turned its head away, hmph hmph I’m not excited to see you at all. However, its wagging tail easily gave away its true feelings.
“Barkie! ~” Arthur picked up the puppy and plopped it on his head. “Ehehe, how are you buddy? We were going to pick you two up after the Festival, did Boss bring you here?”

“Bark! Bark!” He kidnapped me! I didn’t want to go!
“Hehe, I’m right, huh?” Arthur patted the above him on the head. He turned to the boy who was sitting beside Silver who was still slowly nibbling on its food. “Boss, I didn’t see you all day, did you just leave Chief Gran’s house?”
“Mhm, how come no one is on stage yet?” Boss asked after finishing up everything on his plate.
“Boulder told me Chief Gran and his teacher went somewhere to talk again, he said they were going to start in a bit.” Arthur replied.
“Oh I see…” Boss turned his head in the direction of where Chief Gran and Marvis Klein had snuck away to talk. He then turned his head to the little white-haired girl with sapphire eyes that finally walked over. “Shelly are you going on stage tonight?” he asked.
Shelly walked over and pet the kitten who was finishing up its meal. Feeling its master’s hand Silver quickly swallowed its last bite and hopped directly into Shelly’s embrace. Shelly shook her head. “I don’t want to.” She answered.
“Oh I see, what about you, Arthur?” Boss asked.
“Um… probably not… I don’t know what to show to them.” Arthur answered honestly. He didn’t even know what his powers were yet to show it for them. He also didn’t want to try meditating in front of them and fighting actual students? No way.
“Ahaha, maybe you’ll think of something before the night ends.” Boss answered.
“Boss! What about you go up there and show what you got! You can definitely beat everyone here!” Arthur exclaimed. His voice was loud enough for kids and young adults who were planning on going on stage to look at the two boys having a conversation. They were surprised to hear it was the Exotic boy with silver hair and emerald green eyes praising a normal looking boy.
Shelly sighed the moment she heard Arthur speak up. However, she didn’t bother to quickly inform Arthur that what he was going to say would cause trouble.
“Haha. Maybe and I haven’t even gone to school yet.” Boss answered casually.
A group of kids were irked by Boss’ nonchalant answer, especially after realizing he was a normal boy who didn’t even go to school believes he can beat up everyone on stage. One teenager broke off from the rest of the group and sauntered over, his finger pointed at Boss.
“You? Beat everyone here? You’re just a normie!” An angry teenager head taller than Boss intruded their conversation and exclaimed.
“Huh?” Arthur wasn’t expecting a teenager to show up in front of them angrily yelling at Boss. He quickly realized he said something he shouldn’t have when he turned only to see Shelly sighing and shaking her head.
“I’m sor—” Arthur tried to quickly apologize to the group of teenagers but immediately got cut off by Boss.
“Who are you? Go freak off. I’m the amazing Boss, even this Exotic boy over here believes I can beat all you little idiots.” Boss arrogantly retorted back. His actions caught both Shelly and Arthur off guard, they didn’t expect Boss to act in such a way. Shelly squinted her eyes; she immediately knew Boss was plotting something.
Boss’ words irritated the group of kids and their parents who was listening in on the conversation. A man who looked like the angry teenager’s father walked up and looked down at down at Boss with contempt.
“Boy, where are your parents? You should apologize to him for being so rude, he was just telling you that beating everyone here is impossible.”
“Who the freak are you? You should apologize to me for ruining the air with such bad breath.” Boss angrily retorted.
“You!—”
“You what? You a dumbass. That’s what.”
“You!—”
“Attention everyone!” A loud booming voice reverberated throughout the Festival quieting down everyone completely. It was a enormous man a head taller than everyone there. All of the villagers immediately recognized the voice of the person shouting. It was none other than Big T who had helped carrying the mountainside slabs for the festival. “Chief Gran is here!”
Everyone stood up and saw Chief Gran walking in with a smile on his face.
“I’ll make this quick, the stage is open for anyone who wishes to demonstrate what they’ve learned. Go!”
The teenager and father duo who got angrily rebuked by Boss immediately began to whisper to each other.
“What? You two are plotting to challenge me? Freaking idiots!” Boss exclaimed.
Boss quickly got up from where he stood and ran to the center of the platform. Gran didn’t expect the first person to run up on stage was Boss!
Gran quickly ran up to Boss and looked down at Boss. “You—”
Boss quickly cut Gran off and shouted loudly in a childish voice. “Idiot boy with the father that had a bad breath, I challenge you!”
Eyes from the fire grill all directed their gaze on the father and son duo who had angered Boss. Indeed, they were planning on the son going on stage to challenge Boss. However, they hadn’t expect Boss to be so fast at running up and challenging them. Was the boy that confident he could beat them? The teenager was worried but with all eyes on them the teenager gulped and hurried onto the stage.
“Took you long enough, you freaking idiot, come meet your doom!” Boss exclaimed.
Everyone who knew about Boss was wide eyed. Was Boss going up on stage even allowed!?
“Ahem, are you two sure you want a fight, we can do something else like meditation or showing off your skill?” Gran tried to stop the fight between to the two.
“No! I wanna beat him up!” Boss exclaimed. He quickly lowered his glasses and winked at Gran. Gran squinted wondering what the heck Boss was up to but seeing that Boss wasn’t angry he could only relent.
Sigh
“Alright, to your spots. I’ll countdown from three. Once it hits 0 you may fight, but remember, this is a stage for demonstrating what you’ve learned, not to bully others. So, stop once your opponent gives up.”
The two nodded their head.
