No one knows... no one knows what is behind the other side, behind the inevitable veil of death. Since we do not know, it is only natural that we fear it. It's our nature, I was also afraid of the end, at least until I sort of... Died. I had so many goals and aspirations, at least I think so? My memories are a little fuzzy. The only things I seem to be able to recall are my hobbies, my Name, and the places I've been to. It's strange, why can't I remember my family, friends or just people in general?
Before I can continue pondering and gradually drive myself into insanity, I take a few deep breaths to calm myself down and decide to take a look at my surroundings. Surprisingly, all I can see in my vision is pure darkness. Wasn't it supposed to be a white room in the novels that I read? Hmm, usually there is supposed to be an old man here. Since someone is supposed to be here soon I quietly sit on the starless-night colored floor and sort my thoughts out.
Time flew by as I sat there and waited, after a considerable amount of time I realized no one was coming. Somberly, I stood up and picked a random direction, my sight was impeded thus I carefully marched forward. Suddenly, I felt a surging pain on one of my toes, I screamed! This is the worst pain ever, I can't mistake this feeling, I stubbed a toe!! I soothed my injured toe and slowly got up to investigate the object that caused me to experience such excruciating pain.
My fingers dashed across the surface of this thing trying to uncover its identity through touch, surprisingly it was a desk. I also discovered that there seemed to be a comparably modern laptop and a mouse on the surface of the desk. Using my previous life's knowledge I clicked the power button and booted it back up, in front of me there was an interface. Displayed upon the screen was a weird message.
{Player number-7089}
[MESSAGE-
Rejoice! You have been chosen to be my champion! You must have an awful lot of questions, in due time they shall be answered. As you might have noticed already, parts of your memory have been sealed as well, this has all been done by yours truly to assure that you do not carry your previous lives prejudice to your new home.
Shortly after this message disappears you will be able to choose an environment for your reincarnation. As mentioned earlier you are my champion and thus have the supreme responsibility of representing me in this new world. The prestige that you earn contributes to my prestige as well so do not disappoint me, if you do well you shall be rewarded generously! Good luck, play well since your life depends on it, and most importantly have fun!!!]
I stood there gawking at the message displayed in front of me for a long time. Shock is an understatement of my current experience. From what I can decipher in this message I am supposedly going to reincarnate in a new world, I have to represent the person that wrote this horrifying letter by gaining prestige or else I die for real this time?! Mixed emotions swelled up in my entire being, from fear to excitement all the way to rage, I couldn't settle on a specific one.
I die and I can't even rest in peace, instead, I have to reincarnate in a new and potentially dangerous world! I pondered for a long while before ultimately deciding to browse the options available to me.

[Choose your race(max. 3 bloodlines)
-Human
-Elf
-Dwarf
-Vampire
-Gnome
-Dark Elf
-Fairy
-Demon ...]
There was a multitude of races to choose from, the names alone caused me to abruptly conclude that the world I would be reincarnating in was most likely one of fantasy. I could feel excitement rushing through my system, one of the only things I seemed to be able to recall was my extreme love for books and games in this particular department. What I've been able to understand so far is that you can only be a descendant of three different races. I spend an awful lot of time browsing some more and viewing the advantages of each bloodline before finally making my decision.
[ Confirm selection [44.5% human], [29.2% Dark Elf], and [26.3% Dwarf] ]
Unhesitatingly I confirm my selection. The reason I chose such a mixed-up is in hopes of getting the advantages of each race. The global acceptance of humans, the speed and agility of Elf's, as well as the strength of dwarfs. During the selection I debated between the Dark Elf blood and the Vampire blood for a while, this is due to both having pretty good agility. In the end, I decided on having Dark Elf blood because they didn't have as many restrictions as vampires.
After completing the race selection a new page appeared on the screen.

[Choose your Country
-Fantor
-Ignatus
-Orpha
-Rawasy
-Korela
-Abin
-Xulana...]
After carefully reading the description of each country I finally chose [Orpha] since it seemed to be the safest place and was also listed as a welcoming place filled with diversity. It seemed like heavan when compared to the crimed filled [Korela], the demon homecountry of [Ignatus], and the overly rascist human citizens of [Abin]. The other country's were a little better off but they still appeared to be quite unwelcoming.
[Confirm selection [Orpha] ]
I quickly confirm before proceeding to spend a few more hours choosing my place of birth. Time flew by as I finally arrived at my last selection.
{Player number-7089}
[Choose your Age (Gain reincarnation memories only)
-0
-0.1
-0.2
...
-1
-1.1
...
-3.7...]
Judging from the way the previous selections went, each decimal is most likely a month. In the beginning, I was confused by this selection, but I then understood as soon as I got a glimpse of the message at the top of the screen. The purpose is to select the exact moment I will regain my memories after my death. Hmm, on one hand, I don't want to be conscious when I am being birthed or having to be 'cleaned' by my parents, but I also need to be conscious relatively early so that I don't suffer as a baby and die.
Truly tricky, I think for a while before ultimately selecting [0.6] years of age.
[Confirm selection [0.6] ]
After confirming a new message pops up.

[MESSAGE-
Hello once again, in a short while your consciousness shall be teleported to [Alaxa City] in your new body, the same one you chose in the character selection process. Quick note, to see your information please think of the word 'system' or another term with the same meaning. Good luck my champion, make me proud, and most importantly have fun!!!]
My vision turned dark, my body went limp and my consciousness slowly faded.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
These past six months have been a unique experience, If put into words it would most likely be described as that moment when someone wakes you up in the middle of your sleep and asks you a question. The only exception is that I was constantly in this phase, for six whole months. From the beginning to the end, the only thing keeping me from insanity was the fact that my consciousness gradually returned.

The house that I've been reborn in is quite average in size, the only peculiar thing is that this house has the style of 18th century Europe, did I go back to the past?! Currently I'm lying in my comfortable wooden crib while contemplating, I need to confirm my suspicions. Hmm, I wonder if there are any library's in this world. Recalling the last prompt I read before my reincarnation, I immediately began trying to see my current status. 'Status' I repeat the word in my head but there is no reaction, I try once more. No reaction again, I decide to change the word. 'System'.

Agility: 6 (1/3)
Stamina: 5(1/3)
Vitality: 4 (1/3)
Intelligence: 11 (1/3)
Wisdom: 3 (1/3) || ]
Suddenly a semi-transparent screen pops up in the middle of my vision, I take a quick glance and am not surprised in the slightest by my weak attributes. It seems I retained my previous name. Wait, why are my stats so weird? In the [state] section it says [Abnormal Intelligence]. I wonder what it means, for this one I can't think of an explanation? Then next to each of my attributes it displays a (1/3).
I recall having read a novel once where there was such a thing, Is the (1/3) related to my [Baby] state? Maybe I'm in the 1st stage of growth so my stats are only (1/3) of what they would be once I've matured into my adult body, if this hypothesis is true then doesn't that mean that the other two stages are [child], and [adult]? I guess there is no point in thinking about it too much, with this mentality I decide to sleep and allow my new body to finally rest.
Approximately a week has passed since I've been able to regain full consciousness. The rising sun blinds me as I try standing up in my crib, I take a quick look at the room I'm in. Sprawled across the floor are a multitude of different toys that I assume are meant for me, next to my crib is a counter, and behind that counter is the place that I have spent the most time in recently.
It truly is a treasure trove as there are many good books hidden there, obviously I can't read the language of this world yet but I've been trying to teach myself. What better time to learn languages, than when you are a baby. I prop my legs over the side of the crib and carefully march on the creaky counter, grabbing the edge of the counter my legs feel the air until they eventually fall upon a leathery texture. I let go, falling onto the smooth chair, from there on I jump to the ground and head towards the treasure trove.
Over the past week I've been trying really hard to understand my current situation, so far all I know is that I'm most likely in a sword and magic world, and that I'm not on earth. This amount of knowledge is truly too embarrassing, that is why it is imperative that I understand the language of this planet and the only way for me to do that so far is by reading and communicating with people. The only person I've been in contact with so far is a late twenty year old brunette women with brown eyes and a caring personality that I have come to know as my mother.
It still feels weird for me to call her mother but I'll eventually get used to it, the thing I hate the most right now is that I can't walk. Everyday I wake up in my crib, mother comes feed me some milk through a bottle and also plays with me for a little while, then once shes gone I secretly head towards the counter to study the language of this world and practice my walking skills, after that I nap, get showered, eat once more and finally sleep. This routine continued for another week, before I decided to check my status once more, 'system'.

Surprisingly [strength], [Agility], and [Stamina] all rose by two points, why is that? There are two explanations I can think of, the first one is that my stats naturally grow and the second theory is that they improved because of the secret training I've been doing. I'm more inclined to believe in the second option because lately I've been able to climb out the crib at a faster speed and moving around the house has also become easier.
Hmm, if this hypothesis is true than how do you train wisdom and vitality? I'll think about this later I guess, I dive back into my daily routine with a new found desire to be stronger and I also decide to add in speech training to able to talk when I eventually learn the language of this world. This routine continues for two weeks straight, currently I'm checking my stats once again with a contempt smile, I wonder if I'm gonna become addicted to the feeling of improvement.

Lately I seem to have hit a road block, my three main attributes have been stuck at the 9 point realm for a few days now. I don't know why this is but I suspect that it has to do with my baby [state], maybe this is the limit of the baby body. The reason I'm inclined to believe this is that my only stat above 10 is [intelligence], which is also my only stat with the [Abnormal...] state.
Through some experimentation I also discovered that [wisdom] increases by making wise choices, thus resulting in the three point increase. Then that most likely means that [vitality] increases by surviving harsh environments, diseases and by practicing methods of tempering the body. Will it increase more if I do martial arts or something of that nature?
Before I can keep thinking it through any more I hear a knocking sound coming from the front door. Mother rush to open it and surprisingly its a lean but rugged dark skinned man with brown hair and a full beard. The most peculiar thing about this man weren't his gold Iris's or even the huge pickax on his back, but it was instead the fact that he had pointed ears!

At The Precipice
Defenseless. Scared. Alone. That describes the life of Brock Carter as of late. Following his ‘death’ at the hands of a vicious magpie, Brock is rescued by the machinations of the newly instated, all-powerful System and thrust knee-deep into a brutal world catered only to the strong. Fluctuating between two states of being and trapped within a city ravaged by time, he is told to either seek out the mysterious ‘Source’, or die trying. He just hopes he can do it without scuffing his expensive suit in the process. ***** Honestly, I've just always wanted to write a story. I had a crack at it a few years back, but the entire thing fell apart before it even began. At The Precipice was originally written as a way for me to destress and play with System elements and characters, but eventually I decided that if I was gonna write, why not post it too? Writing's just a hobby of mine, so don't expect this to be at published novel level, I guess, or even anything of relative polish. Updates every Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs-Fri Average chapter length is 2000 - 3000 words ***** What to expect: - A semi-comedic/light tone, mixed in with a gritty world and brutal survival (not ever grimdark though) - An MC that thinks about what he's going to do and why he'll do it, even if his internal logic is lacking. Is a rather rational person, not often influenced by his emotions, but can be in extreme situations. - A plot heavily focused upon the MC, but one that will branch off to envelope the other characters in the world at times. Often, it's just other people's perspectives of him. - A story of power growth. While the MC is certainly going to be powerful, even over 100 chapters in from what I've written, he still isn't the strongest being on Earth, let alone the entire Multiverse. - Lots of gore, vivid fight descriptions, and often times deaths of people, some even somewhat important to the story ***** Things this story will never have: - Harems - An edgy, villainous MC - An MC that does jackshit about things for 'plot reasons'

Sage ▸ Stiles Stilinski [Book One]
"You do realize that I'm supposed to tell you when you're throwing yourself into a dangerous situation and that doing this will probably get you killed, right?" "I don't need you to take care of me, Sage." "Says the werewolf that fell into the floor." Sage Connelly was notoriously known for the fire that killed her entire family when she was only ten years old. Granted, that name held importance for an entire year before people eventually forgot about the Connelly's and the other family involved in the fire, the Hale's. Nearly six years later, when the little girl is not so little anymore, Sage comes back with more than just a leather jacket hanging on her shoulders. She comes back with a personality distinctly different from what her old friends remembered, not only stunning Jackson Whittemore into silence but efficiently taking away Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski's ability to talk about the dead body found in the woods the night before. Even more, the bite on Scott's body that held an importance only two people in town could help him with: Sage, to her dismay, was one of them. When Derek Hale calls upon her help, giving her the title of Scott McCall's personal babysitter, she's inevitably forced to tag along with the boy's trusty side-kick. The introverted and overly, well, intimidating qualities that the blonde had lead Stiles Stilinski into an unfathomable struggle of convincing himself that Sage Connelly was just a crush, and that Lydia Martin would forever be the one holding his heart. That lasted as long as the one-way conversation the boy had with the strawberry blonde in the middle of a hospital. His downward spiral leads him directly into the arms of a stubborn, damn blonde that was confident she didn't need a boy in her life that was still tripping over an elementary school crush.
