《Godmaker's Gem》Chapter 4. New owner and Changes

"Clara, I have something for you!"
I think we just entered another room. How do i know this? Because, the way i was held, the only thing i could see was the floor.
Seriously, can someone carry me in a way that allows me to see? Is it too hard to ask?
Followed by the armored girl's loud shout a meek voice shushed her down.
"...Go away."
Is she my new owner? She sounds young, I hope she is better than the previous one.
"Don't be like that! Look I have something for you!
Finally!
She opened her palm, showing me my surroundings.
We were in a large room filled with sunlight, and bookshelves packed with toms of different sizes and colors.
A little girl around 10 years old was lending forward inspecting me. She had similar brown hair to my previous owner, but it was much shorter, and had a face that was missing any kind of emotion.
Is she my new user? She is so small, is she even able to use me?
The kid raised me by my chain and inspected me with her cold eyes, giving me chills.
"... It's broken."
"Yeah, Froid won it in a fight. But don't worry it is incredibly powerful, try it!"
Pouting a little she finally put me on her right ear.
[Extreamly compatible user detected!]
[Bound can be created]
[Do you wish to create bound?]
Extremely compatible? Heck yeah, I accept it!
[Bound been accepted.]
[Process started...]
I could feel a sort of power healing up in my body. Then out of my control, my lines started to appear all over her body.
"Clare? what's happening are you alright?" The armored girl wanted to touch her, but something didn't allow her.
[...Bound created.]
[1/3 of the user's SE will be transferred to you.]
[User's prayers have been shortened.]
[Energy consumption has been reduced.]
[Now name can be assigned from the user.]
Not bad, not bad at all. Now I can get a steady amount of SE if my user is diligent.
"...I will keep it."
"Realy? Great! Then I will go! Do you need any money to fix it?"
My new over shake her head and walked away to a corner of the library saying nothing.
This girl, is she antisocial?
Later that day I was taken to a guy who fixed the lens on my monocle. I was scared that the bearded bastard will find me, but the one who tended me was a completely different guy and he did quick work on me.
Now I was sure, that guy is a sadist! Oh, when I get my hands on him!
When she was done, we went back to the library and she started to read books till the sun went down.
She really loves these things, doesn't she? I cant understand why she is like this but I will not complain.
Our days together were pretty boring. She would wake up when the sun rose, go to the library then she went to the canteen to eat with her friends then we returned to the library where she continued reading.
At first, it was interesting to read all those different books but after a month it got boring. Yep, we were together for a month and nothing happened. The only exciting she did was when she went to the training ground to practice her spells and try out new ones. Even then she only used me once and that time she only said something like ' too weak,'.

At least I learned something about my skill. To use it my body, the monocle/earing, or the user's body need to touch something. it can only spread to other things that are made out of the same materials and are tightly pressed together. Also, the energy that is needed for me to use my power can vary depending on what I want to create. If I have a user then I can borrow it from her, but if I am disconnected from her, then after I finished using it, I will fall into sleep for an undetermined amount of time. From what I could gather from the books that she was reading, there is a way to enhance one's magic capacity if you continuously use it enough.
I tried it but the result was always the same.
My user would always put me on her desk when she would go to sleep.
Using the cover the night I would shape the surface of the table, then return it to normal. Each time, no matter the scale of change I induced I would fall into sleep.
Then it hit me.
Here books talked about living beings. I am a piece of rock and metal. This might mean that I need a different method or that it is impossible for me to increase my capacity. If it's the latest, then the only thing that I can do is find a way to gain SE to evolve. The screen said that I can also evolve using the mana of my owner, but she hardly ever uses me so using this method will take a crazy long time and I am sick of waiting.
After this, I started to work on my plan to become stronger till finally, something interesting happened.
The guy who beat my previous owner barged into the library with his friends. I could not notice that when we meet him at dinner, this guy is always surrounded by girls.
Is he monopolizing them? This guy, I'm starting to really like him.
"Hey there Clara. How have you been?" He made a radiant smile while he was approaching us. " Are you ready for today's mission?"
What mission?
"...What mission?"
Thank god, she is as clueless as me!
"You know, the 2 monthly quest quotes. You haven't done your own, didn't you? Eclaire joust found an easy subjugation one."
"...I am not good at fighting."
Lies! Seeing her performance at the training ground, this girl is strong and with her chant reduction that I gave her, she is a force to reckon with.
"Don't matter, it is only exterminating some kobolds, so it is easy.
Kobolds? What are those? Now I am interested.
"...I still need to finish this book."
It's a cooking book! You don't cook so go!
"Realy? Then we won't bother you."
This guy! He talks and acts as if he was deeply disappointed! He's a manipulator! Or someone whos brutally sensitive.
"... Fine. I come."
Easy! She is so easy!
"You will? Greate! We will meet at the gate in an hour. Don't forget to bring your staff with you!" He shoved her an even more radiant smile, then he left.
Realy?
When he was outside of our site, my user made a high pitch sound and hid his mouth with the book she had in hand, I couldn't see her face but I guessed it was red like a tomato.
Realy?
-3 hours later-
"Here we are!"
Frigid finally! It took us a super long time!

Since that was my first time in the outside world, I was excited but then when we finally traversed that big heavy door, the senary was breath-taking.
Huge buildings, towering over us, shaped and made differently. The streets were made out of cobblestone, with laps still lit even though it was the middle of the day. Crowds of peoples passing by us.
It was wonderful and quite unsettling at the same time.
Here's the thing, the people around us look kind of bald.
They look uniform and sometimes lifeless. The kids behind that heavy door or the people outside, they all have this air.
But now that I could see more, humans I was certain now. Even with the difference in gender, clothing, wealth, and age, everyone looked lifeless.
Except for that guy, Froid, and the girls.
No, that was a lie.
My master also has this air around her sometimes when she is not interacting with some people.
What does this mean? Am I the odd one here? Even though I am a rock…
Our group soon reached a staircase that was in the middle of the road, leading underground.
Who the hell designed this thing? It's just a hole in the ground.
We descended underground, finding ourselves in a dark tunnel.
My user and the other girl that came with us created a small ball of light that illuminated our surroundings a little.
"Alright this is what we will do!" the armored girl stepped before us. "We will divide into two groups. One close range and one long-range fighter. Froid, choose one of the girls, I will take the other one with me."
Why those he gets to choose? And what's up with them? They became so… emotionless, like the passer-byes.
"Hmmm, Clara you are going with me. I am quite curious about what you can do, with that new weapon of yours."
"…Alright." She returned to her normal senses and she went beside him.
Something is not right. I can feel in my guts. Something will happen.
*****
Something did happen.
Big fat nothing!
When we split up, the other team found them before us and they took care of them swiftly. They don't even have a scratch on them.
They are way too strong for this! This is overkill!
When everything was done, we returned to school and life retook its original course.
…
…
…. LIKE HELL!
I had enough, being considered as a tool, never used, my plans failing one after the other! It's time to set sail and leave this place for good!
Like every night, I was left on her desk.
Using this opportunity and my many nights of preparations I commenced my escape.
Reconstruction!
I destroyed my body, leaving only my core intact. Then I created a little hole in the wood. With my preparations I have already made a tunnel that went down inside of the table's leg, reaching the floor, allowing me to hide. The wood that i dugout to make this, I added to the rest of the table, making it slightly more durable.
Then, with my powers still activated I made the hole disappear, leaving no trace of my escape.
Now, I will wait out the recharge time, then I will dig myself through the floor to the basement, where I will initiate the second phase of my great plan that I have been planning…Which is still under planning!
*****
"Froid! Where are you? I need your help!"
"I am here, what happened?"
Froid grabbed Clair's arm, who was running in the hall to the boy's dormitory. It was luck that they meet here, who knows what she would do in her current state.
Clara looked flustered, her eyes were wet and red, with the marks of there on her face.
To those who knew her, they could tell that something wasn't right.
"The weapon you gave me…. it got destroyed."
"Destroyed? How?!"
Weapons with powers are a hard thing to get rid of. It would take a huge amount of energy and reaching that feat would surely alert someone.
"Where did you find the parts?"
"A-At my desk where I left it. It became dust when I touched it an-and the gem was nowhere to be found."
They did that next to her? Did they break into her and destroyed it while she was sleeping? That impossible, the noise alone would have woken her up. Did they use something to make her sleep? Or-
"Clara, listen closely. Go found the others and tell them to meet at the library at noon. When you are done I want you to go there and wait for them."
"Y-Yes!"
She ran away. soon disappearing in the distance.
He looked in the direction where she went, then he turned around, his mind racing madly.
Her weapon was stolen, it is the only possible explanation. They must have placed a broken replica to make us believe that it was destroyed. But why? Why would anyone do such a thing? It is only to build things from the ground, that power is very common between weapons. Is there some sort of secret?
"In any case, we need to find it."
******
At the same time, in an unknown place.
Four people, wearing snow-white uniforms stud before a castle in the middle of the forest.
The castle was like a personified paradox before them. It was old, plants have grown all over it, some parts have crumbled down, making it impossible for someone to live in it.
And yet, it was towering before them, firmly like a mountain.
Before their, eyes small stone fragments slowly flew into the air and took place on the castle, patching it slowly up. Even the nearby river that was next to it was flowing in reverse,
As if time was going backward.
The four-man said nothing of this strange phenomenon and advanced into the castle.
Like outside the inside was also in ruin with debris everywhere. There was no furniture or decoration, only stone walls, and ceiling.
The group advanced further into the castle, till they reached what seemed to be the throne room. It was much more imposing than anything they have experienced since they entered.
Flags of different colors and fabric were hanging on the walls, in perfect conditions, depicting different symbols.
A red carpet cut the room into and at the farthest end where a throne should be was a clock, slowly ticking.
Without a word, the five people looked at each other before each one of them nodded slowly. Then they started running towards the clock at full speed.
Around five meters away from it, they disappeared. They didn't turn to dust or teleported, they just vanished.
Soon the clock's hands started to spin faster than normal. The numbers on its face started to increase reaching numbers up to 1000.
Then it stopped. Its two hands stopped at 0, it's ticking also replaced by silence. Then something like a shockwave started to spread from it.
It covered the entire castle.
The forest.
The country.
The world.

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)

Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.
