《Blood Control》ch 15 Old Man 2

I sat on the ground with my eyes closed for better concentration. The blood flow speed in my body changed to my will.
It was pretty easy to change your entire blood flow speed to whichever speed you wanted. But Grant had made an extremely hard exercise for me to master. He drained away 3L (0.8 gal) of my blood into a storage jug.
I didn’t know how much blood a human has. If only I was able to look it up online for the answer. It felt like I lost 50% of my blood. Which made it harder to master. I had to learn how to vary the blow flow speed in 20 different places in my body. Grant told me that I wouldn’t die if done successfully. For every mistake I made, He would empty some blood from my storage jug.
Grant had never instructed anyone with death training before. He wanted me to do it. At first, I wondered if this was a good idea, but failing in saving the girls made me persevere. I would die if I failed this. Even if I lived, I may have made too many mistakes and will have to wait 3 days for my body to recover all the lost blood. There was a skill called Blood Control Blood Regeneration to recover blood faster. Which I will eventually learn how to do.
I was training blood flow control for 1 hour straight.
“ Wow, Crow you have impressed me.”
“ That was super hard, did I master it?”
“ Yeah you did, since you survived. Congratulations!”
“ Um… how many mistakes did I made.”
“ You made so many mistakes that I had to toss away all of your blood! You really showed great mastery! HAHAHAHA!”

Did I make that many mistakes? I concentrated super hard to master it. Now that the training was over, I can just let my body’s blood flow speed remain fast. All of my cells will no longer die from lack of oxygen.
“ Grant, I want to do this one more time, I can’t fail now”
“ There is training hard, and dying like an idiot. You are not an idiot Crow. I never empty any of your blood away. It was to make you train harder. You did show incredible deep mastery of blood flow control that puts me to shame. But you asked for the hardest possible training, so any small deviations you made, I counted it as a mistake.”
“ Thanks, Grant, but I feel like if I take a 10-minute break. I can easily master it this time.”
“ I see you were not discouraged. It will only get harder and you will have a higher chance of dying. Only an idiot would do this. Normally people don’t train with death breathing down their neck. Are you seriously ready for it?”
“ Yes sir, I am ready.”
“ I will be giving you back all of your blood. You can master blood flow control another time. Right now I will teach you blood pressure control.”
I was increasing my blood pressure within my body to the highest possible limit. The blood pushed hard against the blood walls. My arteries, veins, and capillaries felt like they are going to explode. My organs were able to endure because of pressure equalization in my body. However, I still had to focus on not letting any of my blood escape my body from all directions.
Once again the old man devised another death training. I had to use maximum blood pressure in a specific area on my body to defend against Grant’s attack. If he were to attack my chest, I have to defend in time, otherwise, his fist will go through me. It was the same for every body part. He was attacking at full power aiming to kill me. My high internal blood pressure help lessened the impact of his blows. He started attacking faster and harder. While standing still, I had to defend faster and increase to an even higher blood pressure to withstand it.

Bruises were being formed all over my body. By the 30th minute, blood was leaking out everywhere. There wasn’t any hope for me to go further.
I was supposed to endure for 1 hour but ending up fainting at the 40th minute.

Stairway to Heaven
Humans are complicated, awfully fragile beings, far too weak to survive amid the other extraterrestrials that lie dormant across the galaxies. Instead of physical altercations, they would rather engage in verbal abuse, breaking an individual's psyche as a hobby. They excel at deception and manipulation, far too interested in bringing their brothers and sisters down and reaching for the top of their self-made hierarchies. Beyond their questionable nature and moral compasses, they long to find meaning in their lives and put names to the feelings that drive each passing moment. They are insatiable—far too greedy for more knowledge and a supposed understanding of their lives. It's pitiable, really, the way they struggle to find themselves while ravaging their kind through petty wars and conflicts built off of misunderstanding. Humans are complicated, awfully fragile beings. They created words and languages to fill the holes that lived inside their souls, desperate for ways to find meaning in their incredibly short lifespans. They'll waste their entire lives trying to find their so-called passions and reasons for living, acting as if they truly rule the way their lives go, supposed "controllers of their own destiny." Yet, they cannot evade the inevitable visit from death, who stands next to them, ticking the seconds down until their demise.

Stories Of Indlu
“… to grow, for opportunity, for adventure, to be free. Join the colony ship Nao Vittoria. Be the first to live amongst the stars.” It was obvious from the literature that the NextStar corporation wanted the young, the adventurous and the brilliant. So why were the super rich fighting over seats? Why were AI’s trying to stow away? Did this signify a premature end to human/AI civilisation? Why had some questions directed to NextStar been aggressively sidelined? Why did the colonist inflight entertainment trial produce fatalities? In fact, why colonists at all? Those and many other questions, however, boiled down to a single central question. Why was the world’s most advanced AI dumped with a hundred year babysitting job for 50 million people speeding towards an uninhabitable planet? It made such little sense. The only sure way to get answers, catch a ride on the Nao Vittoria and play the inflight entertainment game, Pax Domini. I joined, and this is my story. Well, I feature. OK, I’m more of a spectator. Actually, I’m completely irrelevant I was just there. I’m only the storyteller. But what a story to tell. --------- Hi All, Content will be published weekly usually Saturday and typical posts will be 25oo to 4ooo words per post. Though for some reason the Royal Road word count does not include the content of tables so some posts may not appear to meet this criteria. Currently I have written sufficient unedited content to keep this schedule for the next 12 months (half way through the first story arc). My current productivity would indicate that I can maintain this schedule for well into the second story arch. This also allows for the additional content that will be posed exclusively on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/StoriesOfIndlu). This additional content follows minor characters, peripheral events, maps and other content that does not take away from the main story. I would love to accelerate the post schedule but to meet this I need the assistance of more beta readers than I currently have. So please let me know if you are interested. - Andy ©2022 Andy Leauter.
