《The Dark Star Emperors》Chapter 10: Mary the Bloody Queen

Mary looked back at herself and her own life. It was long ago. During the medieval ages of England, her mother always told her that she was meant to rule. And that the current monarchy took that away from her. Her school was fancy, but everybody there was out only for themselves. Anybody who wanted to be close to her was only close because of her blood. But even that was tainted during that time. If they didn't want to be close to her, they would only punish her for being born. Mary looked up to her mother. She would remember her saying, "If it only wasn't this bloody king. If only the king would drop dead. If only those that didn't believe in the words of God would drop dead. If only- If only- If only-."
Mary had high grades in her classes and was achieving well, but was unable to make friends with anybody. One day, she encountered a white crow. It promised Mary that she could have the powers needed to change things. To be able to be what your mother wants you to be. And Mary took it. The powers granted by the Light. She became a Light Guardian. With her sharp claws, she could tear through Night Demons with ease.
When she graduated, something "miraculous" happened, according to her mother.
She had told Mary that she was next in line to become queen. The king was dead. The sons were dead. Next in line was Mary. And as queen, Mary finally had all the power that she could see. Everybody was in her hands. And everything her mother said swirled in her mind.
But she also had other family. She had a sister, Elizabeth. While she was on the throne, she married a man with good blood ties. But that man, who was king, had no power compared to Mary.

Her eyes began to darken and see the people around her. There were those who her mother would not approve of. And with the power of being a queen and a Light Guardian, she became a symbol of terror. Burnings of accused witches and protestants were common under her rule. There was nobody there she could trust. Not even her sister, Elizabeth. Everywhere there was fighting within and outside of her reign. She waged war and beheaded many who she thought was a threat.
During this time, she even had to kill some other Light Guardians.
Eventually, during this time, Mary had a son. She called him Phillip. The only one she could really trust. Her only son. She bathed him, changed him, and raised him with care. She didn't want him to have the same childhood that she herself had. Mary raised her son to be proud.
And then, her final day came. She awoke from a deep slumber to the sound of fireworks. She remembered eating, and then passing out. And as she tried to get up, she couldn't. Her head was attached to a guillotine. As she looked up, she saw Elizabeth above her. The crowds cheered. They threw their garbage and dirt at Mary's face. She should have expected this, she believed. But as she looked next to Elizabeth, her heart broke in two. Her son, Phillip stood right by her. He was already a man, but she couldn't accept that her son betrayed her. But it was all true. Elizabeth and Phillip were in it together. And as she saw he son signal the executioners to drop the guillotine, Mary's heart filled with anger and rage. Rage at the betrayal. Rage at the world. Rage towards everything and everyone. But within seconds of the blade striking Mary's neck, she noticed a small tear go under Phillip's cheek. But it was too late. She died. And that should have been the end of it. Everything went black. And then she awoke as a small child.

A second chance? A chance for revenge, she thought. But as she realized that the world moved along as she slept, there was nobody to get revenge on. Elizabeth and Phillip were already dead. And the world still spun.

The Trespasser
Synopsis Following his di—instincts, David finds himself in a weird situation; the next thing he knows, he's in a different world, dying, and manhandled by a big-ass alien. When the Source comes to his aid, granting him the access that—like every other sapient—he's due, David barely manages to get out of the fight with his life intact, but is that enough? Of course it isn't. The very Source giving him powers is also poisoning him to death. Oh, there she is, the petite female alien. Will that be enough to save him? Of course it won't. If he wants to be saved, he has first to save himself. The only way to do so is by getting to know the world around him, but even before that... Why the bloody hell did I have to be called Deviant!? *** Blurb? Blurb. The Trespasser starts slowly, I believe I've written a decent world, and I want you to find out what it's all about, won't just throw it in your face because of *levels*. I do not like stories that don't make sense. David is not a murderhobo, he respects life and answers to the world and the weird situations thrown at him with irony and sarcasm; so you are looking for easy killing streaks, you will not find them here. So, a man finds himself into the wild? It's a different world, and yet he can breathe its air? Finds himself in a lucky-low-level zone? Oh, look at that, people speak English—how likely is that? So, nope, not for me, gentleman. You won't find anything of the likes here. Again, a man finds himself in a new world but only thinks about the system? Yeah, that's not exactly how it works. David will try to find out what it's really all about, what the aliens want, how they work, why is that Fay really helping him? You can kill somebody to get levels, and yet there is not even a form of police? Not gonna happen here. Man becomes suddenly overpowered in a world where people can live for thousands of years by having enough luck to face only lower-level people? Hahaha—nope. Lastly...Spaceships and fantasy with LitRPG... say what!? Well, what's wrong with that? Let's make it happen, shall we? *** You want even more info? Really? Alright... David will start from the very bottom of the food chain, so there will be a settling arc—it's inevitable. David will find true companions, with personalities and backstories, and they will have a life of their own. There will be enemies, and those enemies will have a life of their own, too; there will be no evil just because. The world-building will have true depth; it will not exist just because the protagonist visits it. There will be both Fantasy and (Soft) Sci-fi—yeah, you heard that right. There will be rationality to every action taken, as long as the characters are aware of what is going on. There will be a godly system. You will come to read because of the world-building, but you will stay for the characters. The dead stay dead, and you will weep for them. There will be no action without a reaction. Lastly, there will be laughs. Are you still up for it? Then get in but fasten your seatbelts because it's going to be a wild ride. *** Release Days: Twice a week Release Time: ~09:00 PM UTC Words per chapter: ~3000 This web novel is also available on other platforms.
